Honestly...we didn't have a lot of toys (I realized much later in life that we were probably what the world considers "Poor"), but I can remember only one thing that I wanted as a kid. When I was probably about 7 I saw a life-sized stuffed Golden Retriever at a secondhand store. He was in fairly good shape, and he had the wisest, kindest glass eyes of any stuffed animal in the world. I think he cost 5 dollars, which was a lot of money when we couldn't afford beef. Anyways, of course we didn't get him. The dumb thing? Even thought that was over a decade ago, I still ache when I think of that dog...
