Aw man... girls had crimped hair (myself included) and wore slap bracelets and those tights with the elastic band that went around your foot I believe they were called stirrup pants.... The boys had those hideous rat tails on the back of their head.

Oh, I also had a talkgirl like the talk boy from homealone. I may or may not have worn Punky Brewster hightops... that was my elementary school nickname for a while cause the brown hair and freckles.

I heard an interesting story about the inventor of those on the radio recently. They talked about how people went nuts trying to buy and find the rare ones because they were sure they'd be collectors items, and they made the inventor very rich and he had tried to sell other things before which were flops.... but beanie babies never amounted to much value unless you have one of the really rare ones. This website tracks what they're selling for and most are just $2 to $10. The very rare ones are as much as $350..

Yeah that's the minotaur one. Lots of good childhood memories with that game. And once or twice we did play through all the levels. Now I enjoy the nostalgia, but I get bored after about 20 levels.

Ooooh, do you remember the feud between Sega fans and Nintendo fans? Although I was pretty young at the time, I actually remember it : p I even picked Sega first before I became a Nintendo fan, haha : p
Everyone I knew had a Genesis, and I really liked playing it a bunch : p It wasnt until we got an NES that I decided I liked Nintendo. I like them both a bunch now, although Id pick Nintendo first I have a big soft spot for Sega too.

And I remember in my teen years everyone had those sweat bracelets with their initials on them : p Like the ones you wear to work out in-



I even had a pair of them with my initials when I was like 14, feel silly about that now : p

That, and the music were the two biggest things I despised about the 80's... That was just a terrible decade all around. If you were to dress like that today, people would think you were homeless or on drugs.

Ah yes, the Bit Wars I believe the Angry Video Game Nerd did a video on it. And he declared nintendo the winner. Which now I'd have to agree with. But Sega was revolutionary with there clam shell cases which are still used today. Nintendo just had those little plastic guards for the bottoms. I remember those in highschool. I graduated about ten years ago. Actually my class mates where planning on having a reunion for the tenth year. I wasn't very popular I doubt anyone will remember me.

Also remember atari was huge and all my friends had one. Dad came home with Intellivision...not as cool at all

HS was all about aqua net big hair and pinstripe tight jeans

We had an intellivision too! :D We really wanted an atari, but the intellivision was cheaper.

Oh and you know what.. I had this science teacher in 5th grade, Mr. Tice. He said, "I guarantee you that within the next 10 years people will be able to play arcade games on their tv's at home." We were all like, whoa! That would be so awesome!! :D
(That was in the 70's...many years before atari or intellivision came out)

1973-1974. 12th grade math teacher. The math department had a miniframe in the back of the class. (For those of you who don't remember miniframes, like a mainframe computer from spy movies in the 60's and 70's, but smaller. Only the size of a sofa. Very impressive how small it was.) He told us, "within the next decade, everyone will have a computer on their desk."

I laughed at him.

Commodore 64 release date was 1982.

Hubby and I were one of the last people in our neighborhood and family to get our first desktop. In 1994.

Now I can laugh at him for not realizing how small computers can get. :eek:

(We're still on desktops, but we've always been ten to 20 years behind everyone else.)

Ooh! I do.....Either have the smart people do it OR do like I did, take all the stickers off and put them back on according to color. That's how this gal rocked the Rubiks cube lol.

But one question.....I've messed one up before and how can it get really messed up by moving it say maybe five times? Makes me really confused:p

You know im so 80s cool with my hypercolor tshirt under faded overalls on and my boombox on my shoulder with my hightop reebox all neon colors and spikey hair. Hey you notice the kids now are wearing those plastic glasses and neon colors again...
