I can't believe anybody still has such an antiquated hair stereotype. I've been getting a buzz cut for more than a decade - it's much more efficient - and not one single person has speculated I might be a criminal for any reason.

Maybe we just don't do stereotypes much in the area where I live.
I just don't like having long hair ..

ok, that's your choice, but me calling a spade a spade, isn't racist.
A spade is a spade, not a fork, or any other piece of gardening tool ..
oh I'm happy with questions .. just annoyed by some comparison .. especially when it keeps going ...
You're contradicting yourself dude. If you didn't like being called Bono, maybe now you have some small hint of how people on the receiving end of stereotypes feel.

(And really, that avatar IS quite close to Bono...)

where I live, there are different ethnicities, such as Chinese.
In Sydney, two hours south of me, is where most ethnicities are.
And I don't visit Sydney, much.
There could be some Italians, Germans, Czechs and wherever else.
No Mexicans that I know of.
I'd say mostly Chinese.
Some kiwis as well.
Have you always lived in the same general area?

I can understand this. I grew up in a nearly all-white area, then later worked for many years on the border between an all-white city and all-black town, then after that, in an environment that was about 90%+ Mexican. I loved the chance to learn about new people, places, and cultures, but could never find anyone to identify with when it came to my own identity.

All my life, I have prayed that God would put me in more diverse areas, or at least give me the opportunity to interact with more diverse populations, but I do understand that not everyone has that desire.

And, from the time I was a kid, Australia and New Zealand have always been on my bucket list of places I've wanted to visit.

Consider this an advance warning if I wind up in your country someday!

The jury is still out on that. So far we know you're a troll, but that's just a side gig for you. Who you think you are, we are not sure.

We're fairly certain you think you are very amusing though.

I have spent most my life in northern NSW.
Oh, my late gran was Dutch, which was hardly enthralling.
Asians are in Newcastle cos of the uni.
Few other ethnicities here in Newcastle.
Most are in Sydney.
Some I like, some I don't.

is it "racist" of me to say a french person speaks French ?
Or someone in Ireland speaks Irish ?
This is exactly my point.

Why on earth do you the French language "French", the language of Ireland "Irish" (though I think the most nationally associated language is Gaelic -- for all of you out there who know, please correct me,) and yet...???

You insist on calling Asian languages, or even the language of China, "Ching Chong"?

This is utterly baffling to me.

Why didn't you just refer to the language of China as simply "Chinese" to begin with?

Why in the world would you choose such an obviously racist-sounding term for Asian languages, yet go through the effort to "properly" "brand" languages of other nations?

Oh, my late gran was Dutch, which was hardly enthralling.
Fun fact: although I am indeed Asian according to biology, I found out that my adopted last name is supposedly Dutch.

I like to tell people that I'm a Dutch Asian who should be using wooden chopsticks (but I don't,) and wearing wooden shoes (another don't.)

I just figure, hey, might as well try to catch every stereotype I might fit all at once. :geek:

Those were ridiculously uncomfortable.

Yes or no ...
Are you seriously trying to tell me that you are a 39-year-old man who honestly, truly believes that the language of China is called "Ching Chong?"

And that you have never, ever heard of the term, "Chinese" -- as in, the Chinese language? (Though of course, there are actually several different languages spoken in China.)

Lol. Oh my goodness.

I can assure you, no matter how many different languages are spoken throughout China, or all of Asia, absolutely NONE of them are called "Ching Chong."

I'm assuming you never eat Chinese food, as you seem to be opposed to anything Asian. But if by chance you do, what on earth do you call it?

"Hey everybody, let's call out and place an order for some of that, you know, Ching Chong food!"

Oh, what a let down.

So a chinese person speaks ... wait for it ...

Wait ...

Wait ...

Chinese ?

😲🙆🇯🇵

Why on earth ... would I eat Chinese food ... ?

This is exactly what I thought you'd say.

No harm in that. Everyone has different tastes.

My only slight surprise is that you don't call it Ching Chong Food as well, in order to be consistent with your reasoning.

So, why do you hold such a distinct discrimination between the language vs. the food?!

Let's leave poor Fluffy out of this, Lynx.

Lol.
Don't worry. Fluffy split at the first ching chong. He was afraid this guy might try his hand at cooking ethnic cuisine.
