I hear you. This is a good point, and in a free country, it doesn't seem right to force people to do anything. However, in the plan that was passed, there are options for low-income persons, and there are also options for people who don't want to participate. I think it's fair, and it certainly will help the problem.
Hmm, I didn't know that. Someone needs to get the word out on that because no one is saying it.

Another problem I see with Obamacare is that it doesn't address the true problem with the healthcare industry. We have a handful of insurance companies and drug companies that hold all of the cards and they have a captive customer base. Its just like big oil. A few powerful corporations run the entire market for that product. If they want to charge more, they do it and no one can stop them. The government needs to break up these huge companies and create some kind of competitive environment again, just like they did with the telephone giant AT&T back in the 80's.

Except, the telephone giant is back.

From what I've read, a lot of what's been written in Obamacare has been struct down and declared unconstitutional, by the Supreme Court.

Haha yes so they have to do it again with Verizon, Sprint and whoever else..its the same with the banking industry too. The country has virtual monopolies in healthcare, oil, banking, cable tv and cellular phone companies. Its almost as bad in the computer industry with Apple and Microsoft, but Apple still has enough competition to keep them on their toes, and people don't NEED an iphone to survive like they do gasoline and healthcare.

Lets stop pretending that its anything but covetousness and class warfare.

The have nots and the want mores pitch a tent at the financial centre of the US and beg.

The United States is still the richest country in the world. These protest are nothing more than entitlement beggers staging the necessary implacements before the London style riots occur here in the US.

So what if I don't have free dental, retirement at 50 and a minimum wage of $20 an hour. I'm still better off as an American, where the opportunity exist to change everything, than I would be had I been born in China or sub-saharan Africa or Eastern Europe or Venezuala.

Be careful that you do not miss something important through these protests.

The protests, are very significant, but not for the reason that you may think.

The bankers will take the blame, and soon you will all look for something better....

Who made up the rules for economics?

Who is benefiting from all of this scandal?

The bankers were greedy because they were allowed to be, these people are protesting against the wrong people.

But at least they may lead people to the truth, and that Is God.

I don't understand why people are against Obamacare. It really is a great plan.
Because it will definitively alter the relationship between man and state.

That and bloated third-party systems have a reliably unreliable track record. Yes, I am including insurance companies in that general strata.

Who is to say that OWS protesters are not applying themselves ? Maybe God wants them there. Are you inside The Believer's head? Can you see what God is saying to them? Of course not. For all you, and I, know, they are camping out at a camp at night and teaching kids in public school during the day. People come and go, it is wrong to assume they are a bunch of bums doing nothing. Some are. But some....

I encourage EVERYONE to not think that people are NOT using their talents from God by being 'campers' at OWS, just saying that God is in control of our lives, it is a PERSONAL relationship He has with each one of us. When we are at the Judgment Seat after we die, we are there by ourself, I believe that is how it goes in Rev. Will have to look it up, or, you can ;)

And to judge someone as being lazy and not applying themselves just because they are supporting something they believe in because God has them believin' then that is a good thing for that person to believe in. :) That would be following the proverbial 'will of God.'

I should read more of the recent posts as I didn't realize the bible view on OWS was out there. God wants us to follow Him, that is ALL I am saying, but that is a lot :D
I am not going to get into if OWS is right thing for people to do, that was not the purpose of my thread. The Lord leads you in your life, and, frankly, I am glad to see 20%+ of you choosing the poll choice less traveled, willing to go into OWS if the Lord put it on your heart :)

Let me put it another way...

Protesting and demonstrating are the ways of the worldling...

Worldling?

Watching The Hobbit too much? ;)

A very interesting article was posted up at the official Occupy Wall Street website: Protest is Broken | OccupyWallSt.org

It has ramifications for Christians seeking change in an increasingly anti-Christian and persecutory civilization (in decline).

Might as well share some of the big faults of the neo-conservatives while we're at it (with the understanding it in no way mitigates the colossal faults of the progressive liberals):
