Play with complete focus and confidence.
Anticipate the moves your opponent may make.
Lure your opponent into thinking you are making a great mistake (losing queen for rook, etc.) when it's really advancing your position, subtly, yet greatly.
Make each pawn's sacrifice strategic.
Pray God opens your mind more and more to this great game.

My mom and dad gave me a talking chess computer, made by Fidelity, in 1979, when in 6th grade, and mom taught me first when in 4th grade, that, too, helped pique my interest. I played and played and played, it was helpful as I advanced from level 1 to level 7 . I don't think I ever won at last level, 8. But the challenge was key, as I played in high school and then in college ,both times against players my equal, who made me expand my game.
