You said if I'm in the fridge I'm in the wrong room...

Oh yeah?!

What if I have a fridge in every room??

Don't judge! 🤨
🤔....then I must be in good company and won't have to worry about being hungry. And gram must be a cooker....or you.

You know how the singer Weird Al Yankovic had a song called "My Bologna" that was a parody off the original song "My Sherona"?

Well as soon as I saw the title of your video, I couldn't help but think of someone ELSE singing a parody of Weird Al's "My Bologna" but calling it "My Baklava" instead. :p

I know this isn't really Weird Al Yankovic -- it's actually Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) playing Weird Al in a recent movie that was a parody of Al's life.

It just seemed like a parody of Al was pretty fitting for a post suggesting a parody of one of Weird Al's parodies. :D

My Mom used to go to hear Al's dad play live and dance polka as a little girl. Her grandparents were Slavic too.
His dad was a famous polka musician when it was popular around here. That's where Al Yankovic learned to play the accordion and decided to play it in so many songs.

Anyone else ready to play "hide and seek" now?

Guess who's doing the dance improv for Al's video? This was the first take.

Oh believe me, leave the cooking to Grandma.

And if she's stacking homemade baked goods, those fridges are the equivalent of having a security vault in every room. 😎

Grandmas that bake are my favorite. My gram is a cook and baker as well. When she bakes though.....the little hyper 5yr old comes out of me. I've heard a way to a man's heart is through his stomach.......this may be true because I love my gram with all my heart and can she cook. I know I'm eating good when she turns on the stove lol

First of all, after all this trouble, once I get my hands on those pies. I'm not sharing. Humph.

Second, I'm thinking the only way to win this contest is to turn the odds around in my favor.

Does anyone know how I can get a hold of JAKE'S Grandma?

I wonder what she'll say when she finds out all the trouble he's up to, like getting someone else in trouble with THEIR Grandma.

On a related note, how many of you have actually met your grandparents?

Apparently, based solely upon one photograph that I saw years ago, my grandmother on my mother's side met me once when I was but an infant, so I obviously do not recall that encounter. Other than that, I never met any of my grandparents, who are all deceased now, on either side, and both of my parents are deceased as well.

It is just little ole me...left to play with my toes.

Needless to say, I never got to taste any of grandma's cooking or baking.

PM me your address, if you think you can trust a random stranger on the forum with your address, and I will see if I can get next day shipping for a batch of cookies.

They really are good cookies, the kind that start talking to you from the kitchen until you have to eat three to shut them up... For about an hour. Then they start talking again.

I'm so sorry about you never getting to meet your grandparents, Seeking.

I know it's certainly not a substitution, but you might want to consider taking up Lynx's offer. I've been in a few chats with him and one of his hallmarks is always offering to send people homemade baked goods -- it's something he genuinely enjoys doing.

Lynx might not be a Grandma :), but several past and present members on the forum can vouch that his cookies are top-notch, without any strings attached.

I was going to put a thumbs down on your post just as a joke, but I didn't want it to be misinterpreted. :D

Beh.

Grandmothers hate to seen hungry children of any kind.

I would just give your Grandma my bestest, saddest, most extreme, "poor little me, I'm hungry" look, and not only would she forego the spanking, she'd probably snatch up that whoopie pie right out of your hand -- and give it straight to me.:p:geek:

The grandmas at the retirement village never baked. They wanted to deny they ever had children, and they would go to the village cafe and pay for baked goods instead out of their retirement funds. Besides, cookies were too hard on their teeth they preferred softer things like scones and muffins.

Wow.

That was mighty brotherly and neighborly of you to offer, I am touched (and not just in the head...lol). Seriously.

I will decline though for two reasons.

As I have mentioned before, with the exception of Girl Scout cookies, I really am not a cookie guy. Also, I could not bring myself to allow you to pay to have something shipped to me next day. Again, I truly appreciate your gracious offer, but I will decline.

I am surprised about something though.

Why would you ask me for my address?

I mean, I thought that was common knowledge.

Just tell the driver to follow the yellow brick road, and he is sure to find me there.

Woot woot!

We now know that Seeking lives at 123 Yellow Brick Road Lane -- duly noted! :D

And I've been dying to know...

Do munchkins make good neighbors?

Thank you for your kind words, but, somehow, and I am sure it is by the grace of God, I never fret about things which are out of my control. I think that there was a preacher somewhere down my father's family line, but I try to focus on the now, and not really upon the past or the future.

Anyway, I really do appreciate Lynx's gracious offer. Had he mentioned lemon cupcakes, then this might be a totally different discussion. lol.
