3 a.m. or three days later. No joke. I have been trying to start a routine with healthy sleeping cycles but it is proving to be impossible. I do not want to go to sleeping pills. They make me into a zombie. Anyone got ideas/advice?

Most nights, before 11:00. I fall asleep within seconds of laying down. Usually. Not tonight though. I've had too much sugar and my legs are covered in mosquito bites and my one year old thinks it's party time or something.

I fall asleep at around 9-10pm and wake up 4:30am. On weekends I sleep at 10pm onwards and wake up 9am. :p

It varies from night to night. Usually between 8-9 pm, sometimes 7 pm, sometimes even as late as 11 pm or midnight. I can sleep fine during the day, but as soon as the lights go out at night, I toss and turn until 4 am. :(

Quote for the day: "I can get by on six hours of sleep, but ten feels so good that I usually sleep fourteen hours."

"Hey doc, I need something to help me get to sleep."
"What are you talking about? You sleep twelve hours a day!"
"Yeah but the other twelve hours I just can't seem to get to sleep."

Don't expose yourself to too many artificial lights before bedtime (eg. smartphone, computer etc.). Drink a cup of warm milk, if you're not lactose-intolerant. Listen to some relaxing music that lulls you to sleep.

Today is going to be a caffeine day because I didn't get ANY sleep. I hate days like this.

But I'm not listening to him. What would a squirrel know about mental health? :p

Whenever it is feasible since I have been blessed with a job where I can make my own hours.

I usually take a shower around 10:30 or 10:45, then I lay in bed and mess around on my phone, then I go to sleep around 11:30 to 11:45.

I used to read before bed, but if it was a novel, I'd find my mind more awake and not wanting to stop, so I had to drop that habit. I suppose looking at a phone isn't any better for my brain, but most nights I can sleep just fine.

Always with my trusty stuffed unicorn at my side, of course. :D
