I' am going to be honest, I shop way to much, my favorite walk in stores are American Eagle Outfitters, Ross, Ace Hardware, and Sears. Online stores consist of Amazon, Ebay, and Eastbay.
Is it so? Is it true? There's a guy out there who shops more than I do?? :O

I recently checked out a local donut shop I'd never been to and had a heavenly old-fashioned, sour cream delight...

I'm thinking this store is going to be my new Favorite-Store-on-the-Way-to-Other-Favorite-Stores Store...

I used to like Borders a lot because they had a great selection of Classic Literature. Most my books come from Borders. But they closed down a few years ago, so I guess that's kinda moot now. Heh I tried to shop at Books-A-Million which replaced my Borders store, but to be honest, their selection was pitiful, too much contemporary garbage, not enough classics. So I haven't even bothered with them again since. Though now that you got me thinking perhaps I should give B-A-M a second chance.
Borders shut down? :(. You just broke my heart, I read one of the best novels ever in a border's. Old school piracy, Just grabbed the book and sat down in the big leather seats they had set out and read it in one sitting. It happened to be a free coffee and cake day, so I got to read a great book for free and was delivered coffee and cake. Perhaps that's why they went out of business, people like me. lol

Yup Borders has been gone for a couple of years. I loved that store too. I liked it better than Barnes and Nobel. I felt they had better prices, but maybe they were the same, I don't know.

Power tools are the shallow end of the pool. Go big or go home. Give me a wrecking ball and an empty building. Now THAT sounds like fun :p

I hate the way they have the R, backwards, it really annoys me. I guess because kids see it and I wonder if kids are confused by it. Probably not, it's probably just me, but I always want to get a ladder and move it the right way.

There's a store I like that no one's put down yet - the music store!! :D I actually prefer a small local one in my town. They've treated my whole family with nothing but respect and they'll even give us discounts from time to time on things like guitar strings.
I love my local music store too! - well, we actually have two. I like the one downtown just a bit more than the one in the suburban areas. I kind of live between the two.

Larger music stores are awesome! If I go to the bay area, I like to go to Byron Hoyt Music, or JW Pepper in Fremont. As a music teacher for band and choir, I would order from them all the time, but it's fun to actually rifle through the stuff. Sometimes you can even find some really cool stuff that's "off-catalogue" and not found online. When I was in Texas, there was a store like that near Denton somewhere too.

If you wanna go big. Forget the wrecking ball. Explosive demolition that's where it's at. lol. Also in regards to power tools you ain't lived till you ran a core drill with a 2 inch diameter bit. Man that was a great day even if i suffered a head injury. lol.

Oh man, we had a 3 story Borders in the city, and I used to hide in its quiet hidey places after university lectures.

I love to shop at IKEA because they have a massive children's section.

There's also a large Christian book/music store 25 minute drive from where I live that has a café inside. I get a $10 coupon each month because I usually spend over $100 there per month (eep). I really need to invest in some shelves for all my music and books, its ridiculous how many book piles I have everywhere and how strategically they have been placed so that I trip over them or knock them down on my feet.

Not to mention the drive to this store means I pass by some beautiful natural scenery. There's nothing better than buying a new worship CD and listening to it while driving home, with my windows down and some sunset in the background. *Sighs*

Don't judge me for this but Target has allot of cute girls that shop there....so I am known to occasionally shop at Target. I figure somebody has to balance out the guy/girl ratio right?

i love to walk around in flea markets, second-hand stores and out-of the way antique / bric-a-brac shops.

you never know what you'll find & whether you may get some objects at a price far below its value :)

I like to shop at:

Food: Wegmans although I go to Aldi's since its cheaper.

Clothes: depends on who has the Guyabera Shirts, Hawaiian Shirts, Cubavera Shirts, and Renaissance Shirts. Pants anywhere especially Kmart since they fits me well. Sears, Macys usually have them. Sometimes Burlington Coat Factory store have those shirts. I would also order online for those shirts. Also shop them at Rescue Mission Thrift Shoppers and Salvation Army Thrift Stores!

Shoes: hardest of all because of my size really small! I fit well with size 6. My foot is size 5.5! 6.5 is too big often although that is smallest size available in stores except for Walmart which only starts at 7! Stupid store! I emailed them to carry smaller sizes but they wont listen. Their loss so I do not shop there at all for anything! Kmart seems to be only one has my size 6.5 for a black slip-on shoes (I only wear them, no tie-up shoes! Hate those! ONLY slip-on shoes I wear!) Payless has my size but too limited. Maybe just 4 or 5 different styles.. not enough choices!! And NO! No children size!! They are not good quality compared to adults! I have seen the differences!! And the styles too.. Too childish!

Books. Loved Borders but oh well. They had great magazine selections. Barnes and Noble had great magazine selections years ago.. about 20 years ago with so many international magazines with different langauges. Now they do not carry those. So, I ignore that. Books.. used to be good number of selections but seemly lately they do not and I have to look up online.. try every site there is they sell them. I do not like Amazon for personal and political reasons. Thrift stores (Rescue Mission and Salvation Army. There is no Goodwill stores here). I used to love Scared Melody bookstore but they relocated and shrink its floorplan size to less than a quarter size of its former size. And books in basement without elevator!!?? BAD!

Restaurants: Denny's, (when I have to have a real quick one, Burger King), Love Chick-Fil-A's political policy however, it was terrible food I had for first time in Erie, PA on way down to Louisville, KY for a trade show. So, I am netural on that chain. I love Pollo Tropical and Pollo Campero and even they are better tasting than CFA and KFC which is only main chain in area (anti-monopoly violations. Where are other chicken related chains in Syracuse, NY area!!?? WAAA!!) :( Tully's, Grimaldi's (defunct), Ponderosa. When out of town, try new restaurants and/or go to favorites such as 99 Restaurant, Golden Corral, Pollo Tropical, Pollo Campero (especially in Central America), and others.

Local Restaurant Chains: Brooklyn Pickle for sandwiches! So good! Friend of family owns chain. Hoffman's Hot Dogs and Heids of Liverpool (I am so close to that one!), and the beloved Carrols (now Burger King). HATED Dinosaur BBQ because George Soros bought the chain. Please stay away from that restaurant, everyone!

Music: Nope because I am Deaf.

DVD store: FYE. (purchase only).

Hardware: Lowes and HD.

Department Stores: Sears, Kmart, Target, Chappells (Defunct), Deys (Defunct), Addis-Deys (merged and defunct), Edwards (defunct), Sibly's (defunct-merged with Addis-Deys and then later, into Kaufmann's which is now Macy's). Also Rescue Mission Thrift Shopper and Salvation Army Thrift Stores.

Flea Market, Farmers' Market: Regional Market (of Syracuse, NY)

Mall: Fayetteville Mall (Defunct, now plaza), Penn-Can Mall (defunct however, it is still "mall" inside Drivers Village, a Christian owned chain of car dealerships surrounded the mall), Marketplace Mall (defunct and now plaza), ShoppingTown (mall, dying). HATED Carousel Center Mall/Destiny USA Mall due to sheer size and both foot and auto traffic horrible! See DeadMalls.com for defuncted malls

Play games: Buttons Arcade (defunct).

For stores you never heard of them, look it up online!

I agree with you. That could be a reason why Borders went out but do not forget B and N also have a cafe and people take advantage by reading for free instead of buying. I feel bookstores should not have cafe. I will tell you why. Food and drinks can ruin a book that was not purchased. They need to separate the two and have 2 separate entry. You have to buy a book or magazine before enter the cafe to read. If you want free, go to the library! Simple as that.
