You mean you didn't discover that was a thing while in France??

Every day in the morning. Always after physical exercise. Also I like a nice long soak in a bath from time to time.

Confucius say he who bathes constantly reeks of immoderation. :p

I've been guilty of bathing daily, also, even if it's just a 3 - 5 minute rinse. I typically only shower daily if I work up a sweat from exercising, though; otherwise I don't feel or appear too disgusted with myself and can then skip a day.

well, it never occurred to me to take a poll. : D

but since the shower head was mounted somewhere below my shoulders, the enormous hassle might have been responsible for providing compelling discouragement for the native bathers.

For those of you saying you skip showering to save on utilities, might I suggest you just take a cold one? They aren't that bad, and about a quarter of most people's energy bill is from hot water. No hot water means a lot less energy consumed.

A quick 2-3 minute cold shower isn't all that expensive and is totally doable unless you're a woman with long hair who has to wash it every shower (which would be funny because most of the women I've talked to with long hair don't wash their hair every time). You can even pulse the shower head off and on if you really want to be cheap about it. Going into work freshly bathed is worth the small financial expenditure.

Personally, I shower at night, and coincidentally that is also when I shave (shaving after a shower is the best time, or while in the shower). If I'm using a straight razor I wait until I'm out of the shower. If it's a safety razor (you know the old school kind that still isn't particularly safe) I'll use it without any lather right in the shower. No, I haven't slit my own throat, and yes it's worth the extra time.

For those of you who work out - I've got a tip for you. Make the shower after a work out a cold one.

On days when I work out, I make it a cold shower. It helps reduce inflammation without resorting to NSAIDS, and if I lifted really heavy it helps all those torn muscles heal faster (a lot less DOMS the next morning). I should point out that by cold I mean extremely luke warm, not ground temperature. Ground temperature at this time of year is... not pleasant, and usually results in cramping the muscles you just tore (and they had better be torn, because if not then it was a poor wokout).

I generally shower daily, in the morning. I'm not much of a coffee drinker so I find it the best way to wake up and feel refreshed, ready for the day. Occasionally I'll have a shower at night, but that's only if the weather has been particularly hot and I need to cool down or I've been doing some sweaty work outside. Here in Australia, we have to keep our showers short (5mins or so) due to water shortages, but many people still have longer showers.

In the mornings, after every workout (which is usually the same thing), sometimes an additional long bath in the evenings to read and unwind. I don't ever wash my hair more than once a week.

Hahaha. That cracked me up!!

Rach, there is no option for two or more times in a day!

I shower twice daily, once in the morning and once in the evening. The morning shower is more to wake me up (as Tintin said). The evening shower helps me reflect on the entire day. Yeah, I know.. I spend a good 15-30 minutes in the shower, depending on how my day went. This does not change even in winters.

In the peak of summer and if I am at home, I shower thrice. It is because the humidity in my city is about 75% and I am prone to sweating profusely.

You can call me environment unfriendly, but hey, someone has to spend what seoulsearch has been saving!

At some point, every day. In the summer if I get hot and sweaty, I have been known to shower two or three times, if I've been working hard all day, especially out in the heat/humidity. I sweat a lot, and I don't like it so I try to clean a lot. Esp. at the end of a day like that so I can sit in front of the AC and fan...I have endured some very hot factory jobs in the past, and since my stroke, I can't handle heat like I used to.

Safety razors are awesome, recently discovered the goodness myself. I don't mind shaving now, I absolutely hated it before. I don't know if I would trust myself shaving in the shower though, besides lather is half the fun.

ServantStrike: Ah, someone else who shaves without goop. I dry shave too. Less mess, less hassle, no towel, no water, just swipe swipe swipe and done.

I take cold showers in the summer. But during the winter there's no way. I keep my house chilly to save on utilities, and I also have long, thick hair. I don't wash it every night, but I do condition it.

My showers aren't that long, I wonder how much I actually save by not showering every once in a while? Probably not enough to make a difference. But I'd like to think so. :)

Shower heads are restricted to 2.5 gallons per minute in the US due to federal law.

So a 5 minute shower with the head at full throttle would be 12.5 gallons of water consumed. Multiply that by what the water costs and you have a pretty good estimate. Factoring gas/electricity usage for hot water is more difficult, but also quite doable.
