When do you shower?

I think it depends a lot on where you live. I hear brits think we're crazy for bathing every day. It also depends on your specific body and hair type.

Personally I shower once every other day. If I don't my hair gets so oily that you could lean me over a car and fill up the oil pan from my head. If I take a shower every day my hair starts feeling dried out. Of course this changes if I'm mowing the yard on a dusty day, if there was an oil spill all over me at work, etc. and I need a shower on an off day.

This story is probably apocryphal, but I heard of a groundskeeper of a boys' school in Britain who objected to the addition of showers in the boys' dorms, because the boys would only be there for three months. (Now our friends from across the pond are going to get on my case... no I'm not saying people in Britain are nasty. It was a story, and probably not a true one. But it fit in this thread.)

some Brits would find you crazy... But typically i bathe everyday, but, and this might sound odd, i only properly wash every 2nd day (or 3rd day if i have done literally nothing), basically i use a bath to chill out, so i will normally use bubble bath/bath soap... I always clean my "essentials" every day, but like a full body scrub? Only every 2nd or 3rd day

I had a friend in college who immigrated from Nigeria, and he wouldn't use the showers because of how precious water is in his hometown. It was a really interesting perspective that never crossed my mind before - sort of like throwing gold and silver in the trashcan.

I know a lot of the world has a lack of water. In some ways it is difficult for me to grasp water usage in those areas. I was raised in the Northwest where we have an abundance of water, and we draw our water from a well so the cost issue is of even less importance. So, we use water a much as we please, we even waste a lot. Hey, often enough we are trying to get rid of water because it is showing up in places where it isn't supposed to be.
When I have traveled to desert regions, I find myself continuing my water wasting habits even when the hotel posts signs asking guests to preserve water. It is difficult to change habits you have had your whole life.
I suppoes I am the direct opposite of the gentleman from Nigeria.

There were years since I paid a visit to a school and when I entered that room I visited, I remembered it smelt the same way I was used. I was surprised I could smell the crayons as if they were being actually shapened , and the way I smelled when I was a kid also...

By the way: I was shocked when I read other culture (or other ppl) liked to have a shower or a bathtube once a week. The person I read saying that, is from USA... I believe Canada or Alaska could be colder than Fla or Texas... But!

I like to shower at night so I don't have to get up early, but I have been told my hair looks terrible the next day so I may have to start waking up early. I have a stupid 7:30 class so I have to get up at 5:30 to take one.
