God has been very generous to me :)

i don't even covet other cars; i really really love what i have!
if i see something more versatile, i think "this car gets better mileage, handles much better, is faster"
if i see something faster i think "but it is only faster in a straight line" or "yes but i have a back seat, and i can haul 50 bags of mulch"
she's only ugly on the outside, and we know that's not what matters
;)

we are probably going to get my wife one of these in a year or two:

and if they would just sell these in America, with a manual gearbox and ~350hp, this will probably be my next car:

i used to like the Audi A3 wagons, and Mercedes makes a neat little hatchback now (GLA45), and BMW has an x-drive wagon about the same size, but they aren't manual and that much $$$ for a car, i would be afraid to ever scratch it or get it dirty - what use is a car you are afraid to use? even if i won the lttery i would probably have something very much like what i have.

thank God for making us satisfied - i am already blessed beyond what i deserve, auto-wise.
it is true what the commercials say - "love" is what makes a subaru, a subaru.
Subaru's were basically the original crossover SUV.

I wish they had a third row of seats. AWD and extra ground clearance are.... well they're a joy to have. It's nice to have a car that will climb an icy hill from a dead standstill. People look at you funny when you say "yeah, I know, that road wasn't plowed, I'm good for 6-7 inches." Though the subarus are 4-5 inches, but that's still pretty good, and beyond that it doesn't matter what you drive, someone else is going to be stuck in your way.

I want a crossover SUV with three rows of seats like I've got now when I replace my current car (Buick Rendezvous, I'm pretty happy with it). I really want something Japanese though - the Buick is a repair hog. Admittedly it has 215k miles on it, but the engine and transmission have been replaced (by the previous owner), and the price was sooooo right (bought from a family member who upgraded). I didn't even like crossovers until I got it, and then all of the sudden, boom, fold down third row seat for stowage while still hauling 4 people. Or, haul six people for a fun road trip with friends. The possibilities are endless.

And the handling in the snow... I could handle it just fine in my own car (which was truly old, a low mileage mid 90's car with 87k on it) the body was rusting out before the car was ready to die - this new one gets a lot more mileage on it though as I drive 15-20k a year now.

It would either be a Chevy Traverse or GMC Acadia used, or a new Nissan Murano for me if I had to replace my car. That third row seat is is hard to find!

Yeah, I've been keeping an eye on that car. Hope it actually gets off the ground.

Remember the Aptera? I was crushed when they went under. I was sooooooooooo hoping to finally be able to get a good series hybrid (electric engine powertrain, gas generator backup) with a sensible price tag that actually used aerodynamics to good effect.
