I thoroughly love washing the dishes. It allows me to reflect on my day and the day to come :)

Ideally, whoever has time :D. But none of the guys in my experience even SEE when the counter is full of dishes, much less do them. So in my household it was usually the women who ended up washing them unless we had a set chore schedule (which we did for many, many years). Most of us who cared to improve are pretty professional by now, because I grew up in a family of ten kids, and it was very seldom we had such "luxury" items as paper plates. So dishes were a constant :).

"Anyone but me  I have purple gloves you can wear :D
They look something like this, though the sleeve is more purple (no pink)"

This is starting to look like a fetish of sorts...
you might need to lie on the couch and talk to someone about
what purple means in your life.
It all started when I was a baby ...

I always do the dishes, not that I have to but simply because I choose to.

When my wife and I were first married we did the dishes together.

We alternated. She washed one day and I dried, the next day it was reversed.

We actually enjoyed it.
We just talked to each other.

Then 4 kids later, the dishwasher arrived.
Now we argue over the best way to load it.
I have my way, she has her way.

Of course my way is right.

I am a slave to the kitchen sink, the washing machine and laundry,
the vacuum cleaner (but it is a Kirby) and the lawnmower and garden.

The joys of being a widower for 20+ years everything is done to
my standard - no arguments.

You can see below just how fussy I am about appearances
you know what would visitors think if they came into a messy house

I used to hate doing dishes and my parents never used the dishwasher even though we always had one because they said it uses too much electricity.... So one time when they were on vacation I tried using it and put dish soap in it instead of dishwasher soap... The whole floor was covered in bubbles... (true story!)

Nothing says schlubby house more than a sink full of dirty dishes!

We have a dishwasher, and teen boys, yet still have a schlubby house sometimes!

Oops I feel foul of that once.

Our washing machine and dishwasher both used tablets.
I put dishwasher tablet in the washing machine and the washing machine tablet in the dishwasher.

When my wife told me off my defence was.

"I have had no training therefore it's not my fault"

I have 3 teenage daughters. Dirty dishes are to be placed on the floor in their rooms.
Then the magic fairy cleans it all up

See your mistake, as a mere male, was in attempting to
do two things at the same time.
No wonder it went wrong.

Why is the edit button only valid for 5 minutes?
I wrote there instead of their
Some of us need 5 days grace to edit our mistakes not 5 minutes.
And it is a truism, one cannot proofread their own work.

There wasn't any manual. I'm about the only guy who does read manuals... and follows them! :p

I also liked reading medication package inserts when I used to be a pharmacy tech...

If you are able to eat - then eventually you will be able to learn how to wash a dish. So everyone should know how and be able to do it.

My hubby washes dishes at our house not because we decided it to be that way he just does it and I don't complain about it.

Don't get me wrong I've washed many dishes in my lifetime and would continue to do so but I don't get them in them dishwasher fast enough for him... He doesn't yell at me about it he just does it not that I wouldn't or don't its just the way it works at our house.

We don't argue about it either in fact we don't really argue might fuss a little here and there but we don't argue. I believe that we both believe life is too short to sweat the small stuff and love each other enough that we just take care of each other without small things becoming an issue.

My Dad jokes about letting the Scottish butler take care of the dishes (the MacHine, that is).

In my house, I do the dishes, or at least load the dishwasher... because if I don't, I eventually run out of clean dishes. That "living alone" thing does have a few drawbacks.
