Even God had the requirement that priests must marry virgins in the Old Testament. Just because the world drops its standards, why should Christians? In my view, wanting to marry a virgin is the same as wanting to marry someone who isn't already married. It's normal and should be the default state. I'm not saying Christians can't marry non-virgins, but why shouldn't we want to marry non-criminals, or non-murderers, or non-porn-addicts, or non-drug-abusers? There are some things that set up a marriage for failure, and having been previously married or sexually involved with other partners is a serious impediment to begin any marriage (the same as the other sins mentioned). It's not that these can't be overcome, but why take on the burden, when it's easier just to find someone else who doesn't have the defect or flaw?
