it depends upon the situation.

one summer i was a docent at a large museum. my hair was shades of magenta and i had a nose ring.

individuality and creativity was valued there, far more than most places.

professionalism is all based upon the profession and what the woman is comfortable with. : )

I think a nose ring these days is pretty benign. (Some of them are such tiny specks that only the fastidious would object.)

Anyway I think the lady in the photo simply looks self-possessed and professional.

I've had short short hair for most of my twenties and only in the past two years started to grow it out and it's well past my shoulders now. It's freeing not caring about length like you do with long hair. Things you don't have to worry about with short hair: Split ends, tangles, wind, frizz (depends on hair type!), "flat" hair, bed head (looks awesome when it's short), getting it caught in everything, hot days, hours of styling, using up all your shampoo and conditioner and decisions in general.

Wait... why do I have long hair again??

I seriously look 10x younger with shorter hair... never again will I cut it that short. I like my hair shoulder length... if not a little longer.

Eh, I like my hair right around my shoulderblades, personally -- maybe an inch or two past them, at that. If it's significantly longer, it'll begin to trigger my obsessive-compulsive side. I've also debated cutting my hair short, but... Eh. Wouldn't feel like myself if I did.

i never hv long hair :) i think the longest hair i hv is in my shouldres. i love long hair but i hv some consideration about it. It doesnt matter if you hv long hair or short hair coz beauty comes from heart :) i always believe it :)

Now I understand it all. Most men have short hair :O please let it grow guys, let it grow!

I like this thread so much because I have short hair, every time I cut my hair I become smarter, I should write an article about this.



Note: Now its a bit more short than in the pic, imagine how smart I am ;)
