BUT I would choose:

The guy who introduced me to his dog on the first date. Unfortunately the dog was dead, cremated and in a Parkay container. When he opened the lid, he revealed the ashes. The guy barked in time with the moving lid and proceeded to chase me around the island in his kitchen. (since I was backing away from him and the 'barking' ashes)
That's kind of funny. Would you have given him another chance if he told you he was joking about those being dog ashes?

Have you seen how much they burn for human cremations? I wonder if there are any ashed-remains in the actual ashes the give out anyway.

And to add to Elizabeths comment, this is the very nature of existence. Anything can be a trigger. Driving by a restaurant, a smell or any number of things. And interacting with humans at all is always a potential trigger. The very act of being on the forums puts that person at risk of something coming up and triggering them.
The topics in most threads, no matter what they start out as, tend to change as the threads get longer. You can open a thread on one topic, and 3 pages in be on a 'trigger' topic. All a person can do is try to avoid things that they can foresee will be a problem, such as threads with titles like this one.

I used to date a police officer years ago. One day I went to his apartment while he was working to clean it for him. When he comes home he begins to take his gun belt off.... And holds the gun to my head. He informed me he thought it would be funny to see the look on my face with a gun to my head. I will not share what I did to him( I temporarily "lost my religion")but I will share that he is no longer a police officer.

Another date was I was introduced to my dates mother. She apparently dabbled in the "black arts" and proceeded to put a "curse" on me.
I don't think she liked me.

No. He did end up in prison later on though. Not bc of me but actions he made similar to what he did to me.

This was long after we split though.

Just be aware that some people will want to forget the past and leave it there. I know you would like to hear some stories. and it great for those who will and would like to share. but just think of those who wants to keep those types of stories in the past. and maybe just by sharing your past, may trigger off some bad memories for those that's been trying to forget.

Not putting a dampener on things, I know you mean well. God bless all. and I hope that God has healed you all of your hurts and past problems.
Here's a crazy thought.

If you don't want to share your experiences...DON'T SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCES.
If you're worried that reading the thread might bring back some unpleasant feelings..DON'T READ THE THREAD.

...

If you want to forget your past and leave it there, and NOT share, go ahead. No one here is stopping you.
If you don't want to read our stories and find some amusement or commiseration because it makes you feel things you didn't want to feel again...then...don't read.
Then they don't have to enter the thread. There is no requirement to do so.

People on here talk about past experiences all the time. Lost loved ones, relationship problems, dating problems, etc. any of these could "trigger" bad memories yet people choose to discuss them for various reasons. Some of these reasons may be therapeutic to discuss aloud and some may feel better bc others can relate and so on.
The title of this thread says enough to show what this thread is about. Therefore people are properly "warned" of the context. If the thread makes them uncomfortable then they shouldn't read it.
[sarcasm font]They really should come up with a way to identify which threads are mandatory and which ones are optional.[end sarcasm font]

I've never been on a date, but reading these makes me feel more okay with that. Even though it's been funny reading these, I'm sorry you all had to experience these things!
Rachel, I would hate to say this, but you took the words right out of my mouth. I've never been on a date either, but it seems there are plenty of terrible dates waiting for us. Sorry for everybody who went through that.

Probably not, he told me that he liked to watch tv with his legs in the air and was extremely possessive on the first date. He's married now anyways- which further proves there is a man for every woman.

On a positive note he did introduce me to the work of Norman Geisler. He wasn't a bad guy just not the one for me.

I was out with a guy for our first date and we had already been talking for a couple weeks at that point. Well he asked me again what I did for work. So I told him for like the 10th time I was a special ed teacher. He responds really loudly and meanly with "what? U teach retards? In a public school? They shouldn't even be allowed in school!! That's a waste of my tax dollars!! Ur job is a waste of my money and those retards are a drain on society!!" People were staring and I was mortified. I very nicely said I have to leave this isn't going to work out. As I'm driving home he texts me saying I need to wake up and get a real job and stop taking advantage of tax payer's money.
Needless to say we never went out again. It was hard to resist his charm but maybe some other lucky girl can experience him for herself ;)

In my enduring search for love I have had more than a couple bad dates:

I could bring up....

- The guy who wanted me to hold his dog's poop bag. I refused.

or

- The guy who drilled me with questions, then when I told him I wasn't interested, he threw a verbal tantrum. Afterwards he texted me a long explanation of why I made a HORRIBLE mistake.

or

- Another guy told me he added me to a dating book he was writing. (this was after one date) Then he called me and wanted to meet to give me a manuscript. He didn't change my name and it was SO AWKWARD to read it because he pretty much proclaimed his love along with a list of other women he dated. I gave it back and asked him to take me out of his book.

or

-The guy who wouldn't look me in the eye. Have you ever had a conversation with someone where they refuse to look you in the eye for an hour? Even when you ask? It's almost unbearable.

WOW! You deserve many awards for not punching this man in the face. Ridiculous! How do these people even exist?!

Worst date ever: He made me pay for my own birthday dinner. I was so humiliated, I cried halfway home. I had to walk (yes WALK) about 5 feet behind him so he wouldn't see,

Well, my worst date was last month. He was so intense and was asking me questions about marriage which was too quick for us to talk about that. Then he started saying he wanted a submissive wife and told me he was sexually pervert. Honestly, that was scary but I was curious about himself. Then, I asked his older brother if his younger brother serious telling me those awkward conversations. His brother explained that he suffered from Asperger's syndrome. It did not stop me, I tried to understand and care for him. Unfortunately, he was very embarrassed of himself so he wanted me to leave him alone.

ROFL. What a cad. How romantic.

What are some of the worst dates you have been on? I know some of y'all have some funny or strange ones. Please share

One date I had was I went out with a guy. Everything went fine then when I'm driving home he calls me and ask if I can still have children. I thought that was a little odd for a first date question.

Mine would have to be after months of dating this young lady and thinking we were going to get engaged being surprised by the sudden arrival of her "boyfriend" who was in the military and returning from duty. She had never breathed a word about him. LOL.

Then there was the girlfriend that ran off to another state with my best friend at the time. LOL.

I wish them all the best. haha.
