So we live a block from an elementary school. And buses pass by ALL the time, plus we see buses a lot all over town. However... we have never seen a single bus that had more than maybe 4 kids in it. They are all almost completely empty, even at 3pm when they are leaving the school. I have NEVER seen a full bus since I have lived in this town.

Does that seem... weird... to anyone else?
Maybe the kids are just really short so you can't see them through the windows. o_O

Have you ever seen something or someone who is trying to appear legit? And you know it's all some weird front for the mob or a cult who worships Kermit the Frog? Tell us your story! We gotta watch out for the bad guys... or at least get their address so Jullianna can arrest them. :D

I'll go first.

I was running some errands this morning and one of the places I needed to stop wasn't in the greatest part of town. In the middle of a cluster of bail bonds and pawn shops was a white door. In crooked bright red block lettering it said "Day Spa".

That was it.

The door was dirty and the concrete steps leading to the door were cracked. For a moment I just stared. The concept of some fancy day spa between two bail bond establishments, in a drug ridden part of town, struck me as deliciously odd and funny. I laughed and walked past it saying out loud, "Yeah, that's not shady at all."
If you had walked through that door this is what you would've seen

I once knew a dude online (looong time ago) who refused to tell me his last name, even after we had become friends and had regular voice chat conversations for a while. I wonder what he was trying to hide....

Ya know how guys are always joking with each other,
Well this one time, my buddy was cleaning up the yard and put a set of still useable truck tires out by the highway with a sign noting
"FREE"
leaning against them so he wouldnt have to haul them to the dump and pay for tire disposal fees.
Well 2 hrs went by as he's cleaning and loading his truck for the dump run and nobody stopped.
So his next door neighbor, our buddy as well, waits until my friend goes into the house then runs out to the highway takes the free tires and moves them 50 ft down the road to in front of his house.
Turns the sign around and Paints
"$50.00"
and leans it against the tires.

My buddy comes back out of the house and notices his tires are gone and comments
"Oh good somebody took them now I dont have to haul them to the dump"
As he's pulling out of his drive he sees the tires 50 ft down the road then stops shaking his head as he reads the $50.00 price now posted on the sign and heads on to the dump.

When he returned a short time later the tires were gone.
He pops over next door and asks the neighbor
Hey, you took my tires and tried to sell them for 50 bucks?
He says...
"Nope I took the "free" tires you set out in front of your yard
Once I took them they were MY tires
So I decided to sell them for a profit for $50.00
Someone came by and I sold them within a half hour, if ya got anymore free stuff let me know"
;)
My buddy walked away mumbling something about his neighbor being shady and always trying to make a buck.

Will the real Slim Shady please stand up?

We're gonna have a problem here.

As some of you know, I recently moved into a new house. Our first night staying over my friend was with me cleaning and moving some things. The kids were sleeping, my roommate had just left to take my sister to work and we were expecting my friend's husband at any moment to pick her up. They live about 1/2 a mile down the road and we go in and out of each other's houses all the time. So when the front door opened and I saw a man's arm reaching in, I assumed it was her husband just walking in. Then we saw him. A shirtless, shoeless man who came in kinda rubbing his head and asked for a drink. My friend responded with, "Pardon?" And he repeated, "I need a drink." I calmly asked him to please leave my house and he did. It took about 20 minutes for me to realize just how shady the whole thing was. I called and reported it of course. The strangest part was that I felt bad for not giving him some water for the longest time after. :( but with 3 kiddos in the house, I think I made a wise choice.

P.S. Thanks to Jullianna for all of her awesome advice and reassurance. :D

Sometimes I like to go to the drug-ridden part of CC. This one time, I was reading the thread titles in the Bible Discussion Forum. I was browsing through, looking for a place to join the peanut gallery, and I saw a title: "What does the bible really say about...?" I thought, "hah, that's not shady at all." Anyone who has been to Rico's place knows what thread titles like that mean.
