Jilly, thanks for putting this here. I really needed to read it. I had pretty much decided that I was going to be leaving here...that I might be doing more harm than good at times. We have reason to be here. Yeah...we talk about silly stuff sometimes. But we also talk alot about the stuff that matters.
Don't leave, Julianna! :(. At least, not unless The Big Boss tells you to.

One thing that might help, at least, it has helped me, is to pray to be filled with The Holy Spirit, and ask Him to show you who He wants you to help, and what He wants you to tell them. I've made some very good friends that way, and it helps me keep things in proper perspective. And, it has also helped me in my own walk, because it forces me to keep my spiritual ears attuned to what I'm supposed to tell people. It's hard to be complacent when you're running to keep up with someone! :D

I have also been strengthened by the testimonies of new believers, and the fresh faith they display. May we all learn to keep Jesus as our first love..........<3

P.S. I'm rating the thread, as well, thanks for the reminder :)

That's great, Jily81! My experiences have lead to people coming to me more for personal/carnal problems rather than spiritual ones, but I've had a few encounters pertaining to the latter as well.

God bless! :D
God uses us in whatever way He chooses. And yes, even if it is to help people with personal problems, which is sometimes sin, and sometimes other stuff.

I've found that a lot of people really just need someone to take a moment to listen and validate their existence, you know? We all struggle in our walk at times. They are praying and seeking direction, but need another christian to come alongside them for a time. We are called to do that for one another.

.....glad she decided to look for God on the internet. Never thought I'd think of the net that way, but recently I have a lot......
.......It doesn't always happen the same day. It can take weeks...months..but it happens
I decided to look for God on the internet as well. That is the reason I joined here, I was looking for somewhere I could talk to somebody "live" about God. I was really bummed when I had to be screened though. It's a long story but I had slowly become a real mess and needed help. I kept searching on Google and eventually ended up sending an email to ccci.org. I didn't really expect to hear anything back, and if I did hear anything back I wasn't expecting much help for my situation. I sent the email at 3 am and had a reply the next morning when I woke up. The reply was exactly what I needed, and it was the start of me REALLY investigating God, wrestling with all the questions I had about HIM. It was also the start of a relationship only God could have planned, both with the dear lady on the other end and God Himself. We emailed each other for almost three months EVERY night, the emails getting longer and longer, until I gave my life to Christ.

So yeah, God definitely used the internet in my life to draw me to Himself. From what you said, I'm not the only one to find God on the internet, and that's encouraging!!

Thanks for posting this thread Jilly. Lately I haven't been interested in the chatrooms for many reasons. You reminded me that I am not here for myself, but to be used as a vessel to get the good news out to everybody who is searching for the truth.

I agree, McCharming. While the chatrooms/forums are a safe place for us to let our hair down/chill a little...a sanctuary from the world....we still have our calling :)

Siberian_Khatru, I apologize; I didn't thank you even though you'd already posted when I thanked "everyone I needed to up to this point", or however I said it. Oops; my bad, and God bless you also :).

To ZeroTurbulence: thank you, Gabe :). The force be with you, also :). The force of the Holy Spirit, of course! Oh, and you expressed surprise that we're able to rate threads. To rate a thread, click on the right most button on the orange bar at the top of the thread. I believe you will then be offered five different ratings you can assign, though I'm not sure why anyone would bother to rate a thread average :).

Powerful testimony, Jilly, proving once again to one and all that our God can use us so simply (in a 'great' way) if we simply want to be used.
----
When God moves in us, nothing can stop us. Truly, the three stories Jilly told us were moving.

I have been 'moved' many times by God saving others through me, as SeekingMcVeggies said, a 'vessel.' And, I must say there is truly no more rewarding experience in my life, past or present, than being able to let God work through me to make a seeker saved.
------
Way to go, Jilly, being brave, understanding what God did through you. The HS power will only magnify more and more in us as you glorify God.
Never in scripture does God say our job on Earth is to procreate. Jesus never said it either.
-----------
Our job on Earth is to bring others to Christ, as a single person, or, as a couple, the Lord leads on that, but that is IT ! To love one another, this is why faith, and, hope, both play second fiddle to love....love conquers all, and, the greatest love of all was Christ dying on the cross because He loved us.

:)

Cheeky, detsohg and I talked for a loooong time with a young Muslim lady last night. She has a lot of questions. We gave her some passages to read and answered as many questions as we could. Praying that she DOES read them. I think she will be back, so if you see her around, please be patient and direct her to scripture to answer her questions. She does have a Bible and she is reading it. :) God is good :)

Wow, thank you, Jullianna :). That's quite a compliment, considering how many posts you have. So glad to hear about the muslim lady who got to hear the Gospel the other night when you, Cheekygrin and Detsohg told her, and glad that she has a Bible :)! Let's keep it up, everyone...so many thirsty people out there... I really think that if we witness more, God will bless us with more of Himself....in fact, I KNOW He will :). I intend to keep praying for more souls, and telling more souls the Message that they need to hear, as well :). I can't wait to see what will happen!!! Well, I CAN wait, of course, but the anticipation excites me :).

Oh, and I intend to respond to everyone who has posted in this thread, but it will take me a few days to get to everyone, as I proofread my responses like nobody's business....everyone has been kind and respectful so far, and I've enjoyed reading your responses :).

You're welcome, Joshua :). I really liked what you said in the lounge the other day (in the main chat). Someone said that they wanted to be a missionary, so they hoped to go to a foreign country. You said that you wanted to be a missionary also, so you were going to go into your neighborhood and share the Gospel there :). Sadly, most of us ignore the chances we have to tell those around us about Jesus because we don't want to become "the weirdo" or miss dating opportunities or... well, so many other reasons, especially fear. When we really know and embrace what Jesus did for us on the cross though, can we keep our mouths shut just because we're scared to say something? It's not like witnessing is above and beyond; it's just what He told us to do..... Mark 16:15 :)

Ditto, Snackersmom :)! When we have the Holy Spirit helping and guiding us, it changes things...HE changes things :). I can think of more than one time that God prompted me to say something to someone, and it surprised me what the specific thing that He wanted me to mention was, but when I obeyed, it was something that really helped, either because the person answered differently than I expected him or her to (thus helping me to know the right thing to say next), or it was something they later said that they'd always wondered about, or maybe it was even something that made them listen to the rest of what I was saying more intently (many people will listen better when they believe the person they are talking to is more like them). I'm so glad that I asked Jesus to baptize me in the Holy Spirit :)! God will give the Holy Spirit to any Christian believer who asks (Luke 11:13). Thanks for posting, Nichole; I agree with what you said :).
And concerning your other post in this thread, I agree with that one also....I think that with the proper attitude, mindset, and prayer life, and simply sharing the Gospel when we should, we would all see more souls won, on this site and off line, and also we'd feel more fulfilled, peaceful, and blessed ourselves....and we'd get closer to our Messiah :).

I like this ^ , the power of God is great, our all powerful, wonderful God who reigns o'er all the Earth and who gave us a 'helper' and also a friend, who is INSIDE us all. Our bodies are a temple of the Holy Spirit. And, Yes!, that is scripture too :)

I'm glad the report was encouraging, Adelkruif :). Reading about how you got saved was really cool; you encouraged me, in addition to the vise versa that you mentioned :). Hopefully others will be brought into the fold from hearing your story. I may mention it sometime; some people have seemed a touch sheepish that they were searching for God on the net. I try to assure everyone that it's nothing to be embarrassed about (actually, I'm often relieved that they didn't walk into some random church and hope to be welcomed, not that we're perfect here, but...). Sometimes (often!) people don't get saved right away, and it was nice to hear your testimony; I know sometimes it takes awhile to finally come to the conclusion that Jesus is the Messiah. A friend phrased it to me this way last year, "perhaps you brought them from a negative 6 up to a negative 3" (for anyone who isn't good at math, that just means that the person is now twice as close to getting saved as before; I suppose half the doubt is gone :)).
