The filter idea is good. Google k9 web blocker. It works well, but make sure he doesn't have the password or account email, because he could bypass the filtering that way.

Personally Im against filters as while they may block some porn they either dont get all of it or end up blocking other nonporn sites that someone may use. Its really a pain to try a filter and then find some of your favorite normal sites are blocked.

Which is why with k9 you can set the fliter sensitivity as high as you want and add and subtract categories you wish to block or allow. For example, I have it set to not block social networking sites even though that is an option. You can also add keywords to block, so it is pretty solid when it comes to blocking everything you don't want to see.

Filters are excellent tools for accountability. I recommend every Christian have one on their computer.

Yeah I had this one called hedgebuilders and it messed my computer up, so I got rid of it and went to k9. Hedgebuilders was one that you couldn't customize or adjust any. I hated it.

Looking at porn is a very NORMAL thing many guys do when they are single. As long as he stopped. Don't worry about it. He did it cus there was something missing in his life... a girl. He shouldn't need it or even want to when he's with you. And if he does then just talk to him about why he does it.

Trust me... I used to freak out. Thinking its the most evil thing in the world. And i'm not saying its good. But for many guys its something they need to do... esp. as a teenager or even just a single guy in his 20's.

"Normal" can have two different senses. Something can be normal in the sense of statistical average and something can be normal in the moral or purposeful (teleological) sense.

Looking at porn may be "normal" in the sense that, statistically speaking, most men do it. But this doesn't make it any less bad and it doesn't mean we should be less repulsed by it.

Let's take another example. (Sorry, but I have to use an extreme one to illustrate the point.)

Say a mother, fairly wealthy and living in NY, kills her 4 year old and eats him for dinner.

We would be and should be "freaked out by that" and think (hyperbolically) "that's the most evil thing in the world!"

Now pretend that instead of just one mother doing this we find that 40 million mothers in America have been doing this, secretly, over the last 15 years. Let's pretend that this makes it the statistically normal thing for mothers in America to do.

Now would you be more freaked out or less freaked out by that?

Honestly, I would be more freaked out. I would want to move to a different country.

The fact that most men look at porn should alarm us that something is seriously wrong with our society. Because the normal thing for men to do, the thing God intends for us to do, is not look at porn. That's immoral and abnormal. I don't think anyone needs to look at porn (anymore than the mother needs to eat her baby, no matter how strong her unnatural desire to do it is).

If a guy can't control himself he needs to get help and get married. If he is married and can't control himself then he just needs help.
