i tend to stick with anime like gundam wing, gurren lagann, trigun, bleach, FMA:Brotherhood, hellsing, and the like. Just the good old fashioned brawling/mecha/horror ones.

I think, like any movie or cartoon, it depends on the content. Before I came back to the Lord, I would watch Hellsing, Elfen Lied, Devil May Cry anime etc, but now I've lost an appetite for those kinds of things. I've traded the violent, gory and supernatural animes for innocent high school romances where it takes a whole season for anyone to confess their feelings to one another.

I think it depends on you as well. Some things the Holy Spirit might convict you of watching or viewing.
when I was in high school, I watched Hellsing.
I still have it on dvd n haven't watch it for awhile.
I can and cant handle gory stuff that well.

I don't care for anime, but I don't really have to deal with it because television is by far a waste of time.

Depends on the content. I prefer stuff that has a lot of humour in it. So I'm more into things like Bleach, Naruto and Fairytail..

I enjoy some anime. Ranging from Studio Ghibli movies to TV series like Last Exile, Noir, Rahxephon, Trigun, Fullmetal Alchemist (although the manga is far better). Manga I enjoy include: 20th/21st Century Boys, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, FMA, Monster, Death Note and others.

I'm currently working through the Puella Magi Mdoka Magica series. It's a magical girl series, like Sailor Moon but actually good (really well done, in fact). Puella has interesting characters, a more mature and intriguing storyline and quite a bit of depth (it's aimed at older audiences). The series is very surreal and at times dark and I'm enjoying it immensely. So far it seems to be a combination of Sailor Moon (but good), Serial Experiments: Lain, Neon Genesis Evangelion and the PC video game Psychonauts.

Look for the Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood anime. Its a newer version and is 100% faithful to the manga. Its soooo good.

Thanks, Nautilus. I saw that one at my local library. I'll have to borrow it sometime.

Having seen the original, how different is the first part of Brotherhood? Because I don't want to retread the same path for long before I get to the good stuff (where the manga went).

I think it's episode 13 or 14 where the two start to diverge. They're different enough to still be interesting, but the essence of the plot is identical. If you REALLY wanted to skip the beginning, I'd start around episode 10. :)

I don't watch anime but just as other people have probably said, it depends on content.
nudity or sex or anything like that is probably not good to watch

Why bother to respond if you know nothing about the subject that's being discussed? Just curious. What you said is true but rather generalised.

Agreed about shows with nudity, excessive violence and gore, but also things with really dark witch craft and demon themes but that really applies to all media.
I watch/read a lot more shojo anime and manga so Fruits Basket, Lovely Complex, I My Me Strawberry Eggs. And slice of life films like Summer Wars and Whispers of the Heart.

I have recently found a strange love for "sports" anime. Like Hikaru no Go and Chihayafuru even tho those are both technically not sports but culturally specific competitive gaming. I also loved Crimson Hero back when it was being published. Can anyone reccomend anything else like this??

On a more serious note, With the Light is a manga focusing on a mother raising her Autistic son in modern Japan. It's currently blowing my mind.
