God doesn't send plagues anymore. All that is an Old Testament/Judgment Day mindset.
Which book/s do you think Christ and the apostles used to convince their kinsmen about the validity of their message?

Take also a look at the Book of Revelation, which is in the NT, to find out what it says about the mentioned matters.
Luke.16

[29] Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
[30] And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
[31] And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

So, you believe you are without sin, do you?
oh I've sinned before. :)
Paul even said dead men don't sin.
Now, I'm not gonna keep arguing, so replying would be pointless. You can keep claiming sickness, but I won't get sick. Haven't in two years. I'ma leave with this verse:

"And these signs shall follow them that believe (obey): In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."

Matthew 16:17-18 Jesus commanded us to heal the sick, not pray for the sick. Now bye :)

1 John 1:8
If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

Ananias and Sapphira are not in the OT or the Revelation. They are in Acts 5.

Also, Paul was stricken blind in Acts 9.

I hope you are never ill, ever. :)

But it is a dangerous thing to imply to christians who are ill/disabled that they suffer as they do because they don't have enough faith to be cured. What about the affliction/thorn in Paul's side that he asked time and time again to be removed? Did Paul not have enough faith? The man who sang himself out of prison didn't have enough faith?

They HAVE been cured of the most dangerous thing known to man: SIN. And one day when they go to be with the Lord they will be healed completely, if not in this life.

P.S.: I'm not a calvanist :)

No one is taking the original post: IF YOU THINK GOD MADE YOU SICK, THEN TAKING MEDICINE WOULD BE BLASPHEMOUS! I'm not saying medicine is bad, but if God told he made you sick, then taking medicine would be a slap in the face. Oh, the 'thorn' in Pauls side wasn't sickness. Sickness is not a cross to bear.. most bible scholars believe the thorn in his side was a sexual temptation anyway.

Says who? So far, just you.

EDIT:

God the Son healed a man, that was inflicted by God the Father to display God's power.

John 9:1-3

1 As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. 2 His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
3 “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.

[snip]

6 After saying this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes. 7 “Go,” he told him, “wash in the Pool of Siloam” (this word means “Sent”). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.

You said dead men don't sin. Earlier you claimed to be dead.
Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? 3 Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death? 4 For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.
5 Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he was. 6 We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. 7 For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin. 8 And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him. 9 We are sure of this because Christ was raised from the dead, and he will never die again. Death no longer has any power over him. 10 When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God. 11 So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus.

that has nothing to do with God making someone sick. It doesn't say God gave the man the sickness. If you believe God gave you the sickness, then thank him for the sickness :) don't ask people to pray for it to be healed. CALVINISM IS FALSE.

I lol @ the people on here looking for arguments, if you don't agree with the op, then you don't have the bash them, but if you bash them, you ask for what other people have to say about it.

Please post where the scriptures say exactly what the thorn was :) What they 'believe' is not enough. I'm not a fan of commentaries.

Which part of, "but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him" did you miss?

If you believe God gave you the sickness, then thank him for the sickness :)
Sickness has two immediate sources; God, and at times the Devil (see the book of Job).

I should thank him for infirmities. It teaches me a lot.

Romans 8:28-29
28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.

Through sickness and suffering, we are conformed to the image of Christ.

don't ask people to pray for it to be healed.
God tells me to in his word. Don't tell me to go against God.

James 5:13-18

13 Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
17 Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. 18 Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.

CALVINISM IS FALSE.
We'll need another thread for that.

So all of the christians over thousands of years who were not eaten by lions, torn asunder, trampled by chariots, struck by cars or some other freak accident died because they didn't have enough faith not to get sick or because they took medication?
