There are many ways of reaching out to people. I think we don't need to have the same sin in order to introduce God to them. Indeed, Jesus dined with the sinners in Matt. 9:10, but he didn't have to be a sinner. :)
Would you say that witness conversations started by a Bible verse tattoo, etc. are of no value, that they cannot be blessed?

However, I have heard it is possible that a tattoo can fade, but I don't know if they can fade all the way because my friends that got them and their parents that got them "Re-touch" them to keep them stained. So I am actually rather curious to anyone on here that might know more on the whole tattoos as a whole if they might know if they can fade completely given certain time if not re-touched.
Often after some years it can fade; and this is why many wearers do want to go back and have them inked in some more. Re. your friends, if mom and dad have them, and they get them too, then mom and dad may have already told them to expect to go back to the parlor eventually for the ink to be touched up.

It's normal for a human being to be blessed when they get some sympathy and I think those type of tattoos have values, the only problem for me is that evangelism with those tattoos actually resides between pleasing and not pleasing God. :)

So how do you mean?

Evangelism = pleasing to God
Tattoo = not pleasing to God

I hear you. In Romans 14, it speaks of Christian liberty, and if there is a sincere desire to promote the Gospel via a faith based tattoo of a Bible verse, etc., the question maybe arises, can God bless the motive?

I think the way God would look at it is written in 1 Peter 4:8. :)

Sorry, just seen this.

I wanted one with a butterfly like design, surprisingly. Not exactly sure how that would go.

As far as faith based I'm not so sure.
I see you also commented on butterflies on the other thread... :)

Hey thanks for the reply. I am curious then if it is possible that if one does not re-touch their tattoos and let's them fade if it is possible the tattoo could fade away completely?

YW. Whether and how it fades may depend on a lot of factors; exposure to light, the color: e.g., some tattoos are in various shades of color, others are deliberately in plain, black lines for contrast, as it a lot of tribal tattoos; the quality of the original ink, and how deeply the dermis was injected. One the one hand it might fade - and to some extent probably will after some years; on the other, it might not fade completely and this is why they are often touched up. In older tattoos, especially ones which did not use high quality ink (the quality has improved a lot in recent years) there is also the issue of blurring as well as fading; but a good tattoo artist working in quality ink and needling you in a doable design can produce very good results. f you want to know more, talking to a good tattoo artist (ask around your friends; a lot goes with personal reputation and recommendation) will inform and clarify more.

Blessings.

I see nothing wrong with a tattoo showing your faith, I don't have any myself, but people have gotten tattoos since there have been people
Here in Florida they have branding. I can't recommend that either.

A tattoo is a sort of scar. Branding (which I don't really like the idea of) is really a different sort of scar, but without the ink.

So have you had them a long time?

I prefer tattoos that are more symbolic than obvious in nature and that you can tell what it is from a distance.

My first one i got on my left leg just above my ankle and I call it the Trinity symbol. I saw it on the spine of a Bible when i was a very young Christian and drew it my my leg with ballpoint pen thousands of times before i was sure. But I didn't get it untill I was 30, lol. Most secular folk just see it as a basic Celtic knot, though. But i still love it anyway!

My second one I got last year and it is a star made out of music notes. I am a huge fan of music in general and I love to sing. So there's your answer!

Cairparavel: Well, thanks! and it sounds like you identify very closely with the designs from a Christian doctrinal and musical perspective. The placement you mentioned seems to be especially popular with you ladies, but specifically to you personally it sounds like not only do you not regret the ink you acquired a number of years ago but also it's something you have wanted to continue to have done again even recently.

I had not thought of the trinity symbol as Celtic/tribal in nature but certainly this adaptation is straightforward! Maybe you have had opportunities to talk to people about the Lord as a result of your faith design?

Thanks and blessings.

I personally know that this is a very controversial subject and can lead to many arguments and disagreements within church but if there is thought and meaning behind the tattoos then there is no problem with them, I am personally a fan and 4 different tattoos ranging in sizes.
I expect there are some good parlors in Glasgow? (I think Gorgie is also the name of a Glasgow suburb.)

Re. 'wanted': Well, you'll just have to figure for yourself if you still want one, won't you?
