According to the ruling, Texas vs. White secession was illegal both at the time of the ruling (1869) and at the time Texas attempted to secede (1861), and in fact at any time after Texas joined the union in 1845.

Trying to correct societal issues your way will never work in modern day society.

The South tried to act 'peacefully' and secede in 1861. But the north would not allow it. So, what the reaction would be, who can know. You see already how the left reacts when they sense they are losing power.

Personally, I think they should do away with the Supreme Court, which is nothing now but a tool of the Federal government to force the states, the whole country to obey its will. Allow the Supreme courts of the individual states decisions to stand. Allow the people of the states to vote and decide on how they want to live.

Concerning foreign policy, and military, and war, then that should always be left to Congress. This seems to me the safest form of secession. You still have a union, but the States are allowed to live more as they want to. If Mass. wants to allow abortions, then let them. If Texas doesn't want them, then don't. If Mass. wants to allow homosexuals to marry and adopt kids, then let them. If Texas doens't, then dont'.

Thus if someone from Mass. disagrees with what Mass. is doing and living under, then he can find a state that he agrees with and make a living there.

And of course now with Kavanaugh Democrats stoop to a new low in searching for any dirt going all the way back to highschool days trying to smear the Supreme Court nominee. Their purpose is delay as everyone knows. Because they just can't see living under a Supreme Court that has a Conservative majority.

The liberal atheistic left is found in the Democratic party. There will be no unity between them and Conservative Republicans. The reason there is great divide politically, is because there is great divide among the people in America. And it is a divide created by our own government. What is the phrase everyone loves to say, and just beam with pride when doing it? "Diversity is our strength" What a lie that is. Diversity is killing the country. It is why there is no unity. It is why there will be no peace as long as we are forced to share the same government.

The only peaceful solution is too allow a secession of some sort so that people can live under the government that they want. I know many will say that will never happen. OK. Then expect the next Civil War, which will be a real Civil War, not just a War between the States.

As to our present experience, I would say for Christians, and Conservatives that if ever there was a time to vote straight ticket, this November this is the time. Every Democrat you put in office is against and will destroy what you believe in.

Callinectes Sapidus, if they succeed one from the other then the war would be even more simple in that it would be 50 times as small. Now to be the one who sat in the evening and ate blue crab I would fight to dive the French,English and Spanish out of here along with the indigenous peoples of the Americas...

Luck won't play a role. People and politicians have to do it.

You don't understand the reconstruction and how bogus and bias and loaded the Supreme Court was in 1869. Secession was legal until the War between the States.

My view which is not the same as 1861, is to just give power back to the States. You still have a Federal government and Congress which deals with military, foreign policy, trade, etc. But no Supreme court to dictate over the States. You allow the people of each state to live as they want to live, not as the Federal government wants them to live. Politicians could work it out.

Appreciate your words. If you search for who Quantrill was, you have to look farther than than web sites. A good source book is "Three years with Quantrill" by John McCorkle, his scout.

Another is "The Devil Knows How To Ride" by Edward E. Leslie. Though Leslie is biased against Quantrill, he does do a good job in trying to be fair with the facts.

Most all other writings of Quantrill will present the hatred and bias of the yankee.

Well, that is evident, but that is not the problem. The problem is the division we have in the country at this time. A solution to the problem would be to allow both sides to live under the form of government they want in their own state, as voted on by the people of that state. Thus the State Supreme Court would have the say over it's State with no overriding by the Federal Supreme Court.

This I believe is a form of secession as the States have removed themselves from under the power of the Federal Supreme Court. You still maintain the union, and the Constitution. The State Supreme Courts are just as capable of interpreting the Constitution as the Federal Supreme Court is.

As I said, fixing the Supreme Court won't fix the problem as the problem is the stark division in our country.

Maybe you are right, I don’t know. The country is mighty divided.

The liberals ain’t been treating us well either. Why did they have to take down the confederate symbols? It’s like they want to erase us. I don’t like it.

Neither do I and the many Southernors in the South don't like it either.

They take down our Confederate symbols because they hate us. And it is not just the symbols they are after...they are after the people those symbols represent.

Atheists, liberals, blacks, minorities, are all in bed together to destroy any white loyalty to America.

Yankees are usually silent when they destroy our heritage. Afrter all we are just Southernors. But they won't stop there. They will be taking away monuments in the north when they find out the yankees had slaves too.

Where did I ever insinuate it would be easy? I just have given the main problem and my opinion as too solution. The politicians would have to work it out. And that aint easy. Could easily lead to war also. But if something isn't done, war is where we are headed.

Don't go to the extent that you no longer vote. The vote is your main voice to change. And now is the time to vote straight ticket Republican. You cannot afford to put a democrat in power. You see who they are and what they do.
