Many of you Christians might want to read Luke 3:14 and Philippians 4:11 and examine yourselves.
I will leave you with this.
A) I'm not a Soldier I'm a retired advocate for the homeless, The addicts and the mentally ill. I often worked for free.
B) I'm content being a retired advocate for the homeless, the addicts and the mentally Ill.

You make a statement like this while all the time supporting Socialist rhetoric about the need to regulate all these evil companies.
why should these companies be free from rules? you know these rules were all implimented after the great depression to prevent it from happening again, great depression is what you get when the rules are removed. the great economic years of the 40s - 60s are a result of these rules. they started getting rolled back in the 70s and what happened, the wages all went down along with cost of living going up, great idea getting rid of those rules!

Do you favor the two class economy? Do you own stock in Wal Mart or the Pacific Maritime Assn? They run the docks on the West Coast. Are you against profit sharing for employees?

pick any town in a rural area with a walmart and that will be your town.

i dont mean to sound ugly but how exactly are you not aware of the unethical practices of walmart, i mean this has been going on for 20 plus years.

I am well aware of Walmart practices and I have never defended them.
My issue is that you and so many other put all the fault on Walmart and all large companies and refuse to accept the role that we all as consumers have played in Walmart's success.
If you and I and all other consumers had not flocked to Walmart and their cheap product at cheap prices they would never have succeeded.
Man up and accept the fact that we the consumer are responsible for the state of the business world.

I don't understand. Why is it wrong for the government to step in to prevent these enemies from taking advantage of us, If it wrong to sell dope isn't it wrong to sell communist made goods?

i know of a few little rock walmarts that closed up due to lack of biz. interesting when people actually do have choices (big cities)they chose someone other than walmart. it seems the walmart biz plan if very dependent on running all the other biz out, with out this the model collapses.

When a drug dealer is caught selling narcotics dosn't the courts punish him more than the customers? Low prices are the temptation that has people flocking there. The goods are mainly made in socialist or Maoist countries at near slave wages. It only makes more sence to punish the suppliers more than the customers. The tax payers and employees are getting sodomized. Why should the government let them get away with it?

For your information this is absolutely FALSE.... it was the presidential executive orders that created and sustained double digit unemployment for a decade in the 30's!!

It was the crash of 29 combined with the dust bowl. My father was a refugee from Texas. The Banks went bust the dust bowl wiped out the crops. There was no money to be had and another bank took over and foreclosed on the farms that had been destroyed. But the prior bank had lost what savings the farmers had. They were left with nothing. My fathers family had to pick fruit, cotton and take whatever work they could find to eat, buy gas and keep on going to California. Grandpa had a cousin who lived near Sacramento that took them in. The were hated and called Okies by the locals. Grandpa got a job in a gas station my Uncle Woodie & Dad joined the Civilian Conservation Corps. Their pay was automatically forwarded by the corps to Grandma. I think they got $5 per week a piece to build roads through the Sierras which included using dynamite on tree stumps and boulders in the way. Moving to L.A. Harbor to work in a Fish cannery in 1939 was a step up for them. When they retired, their homes were both paid for. No mortgage payments. Social Security + $300 a month cannery workers pension was enough to carry them through till God took them home. I their 80's They both died of mesothelioma in their 80's. They were born in 1913 & 1914 and died 2 mos, apart from the same thing caused by exposure to asbestos. They were both to old to receive anything from the class action suit.

An Okie is a resident, native, or cultural descendant of Oklahoma. It is derived from the name of the state, similar to Texan or Tex for someone from Texas, or Arkie or Arkansawyer for a native of Arkansas.

In the 1920s in California, the term (often used in contempt) came to refer to very poor migrants from Oklahoma (and nearby states). The Dust Bowl and the "Okie" migration of the 1930s brought in over a million newly displaced people; many headed to the farm labor jobs advertised in California's Central Valley.

I always chuckle when people claim that the rollback of regulation is what has caused the supposed shrinking middle class when in reality what has changed is what classifies someone as middle class.

In the 70's the vast majority of "middle class households had 1 car, 1 color TV, 1 landline, no computer, (you get the idea), the average home was 1,100 sq ft.
Now in 2019 that same household has at least 2 cars, multiple large flat screen TV's, a cell phone for every family member above 10 or 12, numerous computers and the average home size is 2500 sq ft.

Cars cost a lot more (compared to income regardless of inflation) because what was considered the "base" model is the 70's (manual windows and door locks, no AC, manual trans, manual steering, AM/FM radio only) doesn't exist any more and all those features forced in by regulation (that used to be optional) such as air bags, ABS, along with minimum fuel economy standards drive up the cost of manufacturing that vehicle. I'm not arguing that safety features are a bad thing, just that they drive up the cost of a vehicle.

Homes (even a small home) costs more to build today than they did in the 70's due to similar regulatory causes. Most homes in the 70's were framed with 2x4 exterior walls and had single pane windows. Now national code requires a minimum of a 2x6 exterior wall (to allow for more insulation), double pane windows, and increased insulation standards for attics. Increased efficiency standards has driven up the cost of furnaces, hot water heaters and other home appliances. Increased electricity usage (due to all the extra electric toys we have now) means that the average home has a boat load more outlets and wire in the same square footage.

Simply put, yes the cost of living has dramatically increased in relation to wages but in reality not so much as you would think if you were to consider the fact that the standard of living has changed dramatically.
