The House shot down, 104-330, an amendment sponsored by Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) to strip $300 million from the Defense applications bill.
Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) sponsored an amendment that would have halted all military support for Ukraine, which failed 93-339.

Shutdown Imminent: Senate Stopgap Will Be 'Dead On Arrival' In House, McCarthy And Biden Not Speaking

The few legit conservatives are getting the job done. Quite remarkable how a handful can actually make a difference on the hill.

https://www.zerohedge.com/political...arrival-house-mccarthy-and-biden-not-speaking

"It appears that a shutdown is inevitable - and that the House Freedom Caucus will be framed as the villains for insisting on fiscal responsibility, and that any stopgap measure include border security funds, and exclude a "blank check for Ukraine."

"And while the House hasn't been able to produce a workable Continuing Resolution (CR) - which would allow McCarthy leverage to extract concessions from the Senate and the White House, the Senate's funding proposal includes roughly $6 billion for Kyiv - a plan that Republicans say is 'dead on arrival' back in the House."

"Congress has not passed a regular budget on time since 1996. They prefer "continuing resolutions" (kicking the can) or "omnibus bills" (so loaded with pork that everybody playing--except citizens--gets a taste).

McCarthy was zoning in on "fix the border or no money." I guess it is his last attempt to prevent funding the machine that is killing us all. If he rolls over, he's gonna be gone, based on the deal he made after 15 attempts to get the seat."

Well.....at least they passed the "Fetterman dresses like a slob" resolution.....

Senate passes formal dress code after backlash

"Speaking with The Hill last week, Fetterman denied he was the driving force behind the rule change.

Manchin told The Hill last week he spoke with Fetterman directly and told the Pennsylvania lawmaker he thought he changes to the dress code were “wrong” and that not wearing a traditional suit and tie on the Senate floor “degrades” the chamber."

Armenians ‘lose motherland’ in blow to Russia’s influence abroad
Latest reports coming in are indicating that the AFU is surrendering en-mass at the front lines. Supposedly in the thousands upon thousands. Let's hope the reports are true.

Let's all thank God for any lives saved in this manner or any other. Yet another wretched wasteful war that is nothing less than a Satan inspired conveyor belt to the lake of fire for the unsaved.

Freedom Caucus digging in. Demands for clean spending bills and single spending bills Is a paradigm shift.......In the right direction. Pretty amazing really.

No more nose candy money for Z? If it all doesn't work out, maybe he and Truedope can both step down, become roommates and travel the world together.

I thought the rule was "all is fair in love and war"
As of now, the correct play for Ukraine is (and was) to step up to the plate with peace negotiations and get the best deal possible.
If they would have done so in 2020, they would have lost very little and gained very many lives.

The problem now is how NATO and the west have been tested, the measure of their weakness exposed and factored into the gameplay. And Russia may indeed become MORE emboldened given the results to date. I am sure that the West is quite chagrined at Russia's resilience economically, politically and militarily. By now they expected capitulation. I guess they have not been history mavens.

And they actually thought that this was going to work?

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/...a-at-20-above-price-cap-set-by-yellen-and-g-7

The cap works by forbidding any coalition countries to provide maritime services to ship Russian oil unless it is sold at or below the $60 capped price. But recent data have cast doubt on the efficacy of the cap, especially in the months since Russia and Saudi Arabia announced voluntary oil production cuts of 1.3 million barrels per day.

Russian Urals exports have been trading to Indian refiners above $60 per barrel since mid-July, when the supply cuts were first announced, and have continued to climb higher on the tighter supplies.

“Urals prices are on the rise again. Alternatives are much more expensive and not easily available,” one trader with knowledge of the Russian oil market told Reuters.

See post # 2355
https://christianchat.com/threads/ukraine-the-bad-guy.209784/post-5160503

In a startling revelation, the Chief of Staff of Canada's Armed Forces, General Wayne Air, has expressed growing concerns over the unexpectedly swift pace at which Russia is replenishing its ammunition arsenal. This alarming development has been acknowledged by the Canadian military establishment and reported by Radio-Canada.

He pointed out that if Canada were to deplete its ammunition reserves at a pace similar to that observed in Ukraine, the country's stockpile could be exhausted within a matter of days.

As I said.....the fallout from this conflict is not looking good.

""A NATO country may soon have a pro-Russian leader": FitzoNash - There is great fear in the West that a "Putin fan" will come to power in Slovakia after tomorrow's elections."
