1. because statements like that "Why are so many women attracted to jerks?"
tell us, it is the normal way.

2. No realy all men are jerks, at some time. :)

3. And the jerk-woman releationship gets more viewtime, because "oh, why does she do that",
so all the couples between caring partners get overlooked.
There just is not that much drama about.

4. Don't change to become a jerk. You have to life with yourself !

5. Look beyond the woman, that looks for an other type of male, and become a real parter for the one
you overlook, because she is nice. Where you can have a partner, not someone to brag about,
because "you rescute her".

----
Currently not looking for a new man, but not understanding, why her man, wanted to rescue an other
(not interested) woman instead of working on their relationship.

I'm sorry, I should probably keep my thoughts to myself....
Don't let that bother you Lin. People vent on here all the time about relationships (but usually its in the family forum). I'm not sure why u got singled out. Hope you are doing ok. God bless.

I think the people who criticized her maybe didn't know her story. At least, I hope that's the case. Hopefully they'll read it and join in on praying for her. Anyone who has been in an abusive situation knows that having people say, "Just pray about it" is like pouring an entire salt mine into the wound. I would certainly hope the users here are more compassionate than that.

I posted a link to her original thread in an earlier post--the only reason I mention it publicly is because it's already public and was posted by I'mmawildthing herself. The title is, "Leaving My Abusive Husband -- Finally."

If I were in her situation, as I said, I'd be doing and saying a whole lot worse so I think she deserves some empathy, at the very least.

(And Zero, there were some comments made about why I stand up for you, tell you I appreciate you, etc. in another thread--this is exactly why. You try your best to help and show kindness instead of judging. Thank you for that!!)

Anytime, Zero. :) You know I have a soft spot in my heart for the under dogs. :) To be honest *gentle scolding with a smile*, I was gonna write and say, "Now Zero, you know ALL women don't fall for jerks..." but I know it's you and I know you're not meaning to stereotype every woman. :)

I have also realized that Immawildthing's situation is really none of my business and for that, I will now bow out, and apologize if I overstepped any lines. Best wishes to all involved.

That's why I wrote "so many" and not "all" in the title :)

Heh heh heh... I guess I'm just now programmed to read these titles as, "HEY!!! WHY ARE ABSOLUTELY ALL OF YOU SOUL-SUCKING WOMEN ATTRACTED TO JERKS!!!???"

Sorry, Zero... I should have known better with you!!! :) Totally my bad!!! :D

because they have challenging personality
because they are not boring
because they seem to look appealing
because they are wild and some women like it
because they are confident
because they want the toughness, dominant, someone who can control them
because some girls just simply like the drama
but most of the time girls just doesn't know what they get until it's too late

Guys-
I really don't think that anyone meant to be critical of her, even without knowing her situation; I say this because when I had responded to one of her "venting" posts, I didn't know at first, either, but what I said, I said out of concern and experience. I wouldn't take back what I said to her after reading her situation, though I would maybe have been more gentle, if possible. She's in a bad situation, absolutely, and I understand why she says what she does, as I think anyone who read her thread understands, as well. But I also have...some first-hand experience...with being in a similar situation, back when I was her age, and I know that all the venting in the world neither changed things, nor fixed me.

I truly don't think that anything that was said to her was meant as criticism.

Just um...you know, just sayin'.

I do apologize if I sounded harsh.

I was just thinking to myself, if this young woman is going through an abusive relationship, I sure hope others reading the posts aren't thinking that we, as Christians, just brush her off, no matter what's going on. I know that only God and the people involved know the story but I was trying to think of myself in that situation as well, and I guess I had a different perspective is all. I'm the bad one who would be venting, screaming, kicking, and venting again, no matter if it changed anything or not, because dang it... I guess I like to vent. :) Kudos to MissCris for having the more mature reaction. :) (Maybe she can teach me.)

I'm not sorry for saying what I was thinking but I AM sorry if I came across the wrong way.

Nah, it didn't come across the wrong way, just the criticism bit I disagreed with is all. But, like you said, different points of view :) No biggie.

Ha... Well you know, Cris... The next thread is going to be, "Why Does Everyone Think MissCris Rocks???!!"

(And of course, there only two answers: 1. Because she does, and 2. "What do you mean? Are you saying she doesn't rock? What's wrong with you???!!")

Zero, sorry for going off on a tangent here, but you know me. It's my bad side coming out again... Figuring I can get away with temporarily derailing a friend's thread. :))

I was simply responding to this...

I'm sorry, I should probably keep my thoughts to myself....
Bottom line is that whatever was said made her feel bad and I sensed it too when I read it (that it would come across as harsh and condemning and make her feel bad). Defending what was said isn't going to change how I feel about it. :p

Sometimes we mistake "feeling bad" with CONVICTION because we haven't renewed our minds with God's word. God never wants someone to "feel bad". He doesn't operate in the "feelings" department anyway. When we are "feeling bad", 9 out of 10 times it's because we've given foothold to the devil & let him whisper his BS in our ear, thus not casting down imaginations & letting the thoughts of "feeling bad" exalt themselves against the knowledge of God's word. That's MHO,but I don't claim to know much,so take it or leave it.:)

It really shouldn't be something I vent to you guys though, unless it's in a thread specifically meant for that. I'll ty to behave better.

I think many women r attracted to so called jerks because its what society is enabling. that's like a christian woman in room and other nonchristians in the room and the dude only wants t address the nonchristian
