You know its funny how christians can be so different.. some so mean, and rude, and others so nice and loving with a real heart for god.....
So true. And it's so easy to focus on the ones who are real stinkers than the ones who are truly representative of Christ.

So with that said, I would like to state that I have also been blessed to meet many people who are such wonderful Christians that they actually make it effortless to believe in a God of love.

Seeing as i have never chose either, i will go on continuing to say, I choose neither. I need someone who is a strong Christian to rely on and build me up as i build them up. You can't say that because there are those who aren't as good as Christians as others that dating non-christians is ok. That just puts you in more of a pickle when you try to make good decision in life based on God's word, and the one you rely on has no part in Him. it will affect you and the family to raise.

Just sayin.

well.

point 1 - libraries are cool.

point 2 - anyone who thinks facade is a big word needs to spend more time in libraries.
Sharp is so cool!! :) Libraries rock. So do big words... for people who know how to use them and know what they mean... (which would exclude me but hey... I like to learn and I LOVE libraries!)

The dating scene is tough all around... I liked the point about wanting to date someone who is going to heaven and that if they're a Christian, at least God can deal with them, but... man. I guess... if I actually had a potential date right now (I mean besides someone very charming who will remain anonymous--MM *WINK!*) I would be in a much better position to answer this question!

As a character on one of my favorite TV shows (which will remain unnamed) says when his two best friends are arguing over who will be best man at his wedding: "I don't even have a girlfriend! This is a question for science fiction writers!" (or something to that effect)

a bad CHRISTian?...is there really such a thing..how can you claim to be saved by the grace of God and treat people wrong AND call yourself a CHRISTIAN?..I just don't get it..Christians are called CHRISTians because we're suppose to follow CHRIST..do as Christ did.

I don't get...can someone explain please?

For me it is not a question of a bad or good christian but, mean or loving. I am not one that wants compition in my home. I prefer harmony. Home for me needs to be a place of refuge from stress, agrivation and such. A place to relax, relate and so on. Also Chist said that a man is to be the head of the woman as Chist is the head of man. So, if I must be submissive to the man. I want one that will be as Christ said he needs to be for a wife. That is exactly why I've waited so long. I've yet to find such a man.

Ideally, there shouldn't be such a thing as a bad Christian. But I've met quite a few. Whether or not they are actually saved is between them and God and it's not for me to say that they aren't. All I know is that they aren't nice people (see the previous post where some Christians I knew said my dad was gay).

It would be great if Christian was synonimous with loving, but it's not.

yea..and the guy who called ur dad gay...i'm sure he was just an ignorant person

I just don't see how you can have BAD and CHRISTIAN together...guess that'll always be a mystery to me
And I know we're not perfect but some things are unnecessary

and one more thing...i was taught that it's by how we treat others that show how much we truly love Christ
...ook i'm done!:p

I know many people who are in nightmare marriages because they didn't listen to Gods warning. Spending all their life with a unsaved mate. Or their mate is a different faith and they can't be in the same church. That's insane. The warning is the bible for a reason. Be careful and many blessings to you. Love

Well, claiming to be Christian doesn't make you a good person. =)
I don't think that you MUST have the same faith, but I believe that it makes things a lot easier. If it fits, it just fits.

Above your young. You take your time. Have fun. Date and don't get too serious. Life is too short. Yes there are many people who say they are christians and they aren't. We're warned about the wolves in sheep clothing. After some yrs when your ready to settle down trust God and listen to him. It's nice you've met a lot of different kinds of people. You know the bible is filled with all kinds of stories of the people who didn't listen to God and mated with people who had all kinds of other gods that's why theres all kinds of wars and the world is ending. God bless you always, Love

the bible says that a christian should only marry a christian (i think this is in timothy somewhere), although I don't remember seing anything about dating non-christians. Another thing to remember is tha just beause they may not be christian at the time, you could guide them to Christ. No one can honestly say that they were born Christian, we all became believers at some point.

I would not date either which probably explains why I am still single lol. If they are not a Christian then they will not want to go to my favorite place (church) or really understand the reason why I teach children s church or VBS or any other ministry I am in.
If they are a "bad Christian" (would have worded it differently but its not my thread) I would not for one thing I take bad christian to mean someone who never goes to church and does not read their Bible regularly.
But I am ok waiting on that good christian girl

The number one, most important thing in a christian's life is to believe in Jesus, to know that he died on the cross for our sins, and to ask him to come into our hearts.

Speaking from experience, surrounding oneself with people who do not believe, especially those who have opposite beliefs, is detrimental and damaging to one's faith.

I think that we should not rule people with other beliefs out of our lives, but we should also not invite them in with open arms. Perhaps God is leading you to these people of other religions so that you can tell them about Jesus.

I think this may be what you were saying, but....

as Christians we are supposed to be around non-believers, as Christ was, Not locked in our cages with all our Christian friends so no one can touch us. Although the thing is; We are not to be brought down by un-Godly people, but we are to raise the world to Christ.

Once in Christ, always in Christ. I can only pray the 'bad' Christian becomes 'good'.

For me, I'm not going to stop myself from falling in love. If I fall in love with a non-Christian, so be it... But I will stop myself from marrying somebody if our marriage does not help one another to become closer to Christ - because that's the main purpose of marriage! I would rather honour God than my feelings.
