Boy seekingJC, I can teach you many things you have wrong... Let us start with the Holy Spirit WORKING IN A PERSON.... Do you know that such a person went through the ULTIMATE REGENERATION... TO BE MADE EXACTLY IN THE IMAGE AND LIKENESS OF JESUS! A PERSON that have the Holy Spirit in HIM CANNOT SIN!!! 1 John 3:9... That SEED God mentions there is the Holy Spirit. It is the NEW HEART, and the SPIRIT OF GOD.... IN THE NEW CREATURE... The one where EVERYTHING IS MADE NEW... Such a person is made perfect. Has God's LOVE PERFECTED in him. This is what God did to that person... LOOK AT HOW THIS PERSON WILL DO AS GOD WANTS DONE.... PERFECTLY...
A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

I can see God doing this..... FATHER LET THOU WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS DONE IN HEAVEN... The moment God gives a man the new heart, HIS WILL WILL BE DONE IN THAT MAN AS IN HEAVEN... PERFECTLY....

I disagree. What about:
Galatians 2:11 But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed.

Did Peter not receive the Holy Spirit??? Also there is no salvation without the spirit combine that with the fact that all of us sin so by your logic aint nobody going to be saved. That's a bit sad.

When it comes to the gift of speaking in tongues, It is quite clear that this was the tongues of the languages of mankind and that God used this gift to cross through the language barriers for the purpose of extending the Good News concerning God's kingdom by Christ to the entire world.

At Pentecost when the New Covenant was inaugurated by the outpouring of Holy Spirit per the prophecy of Joel, we see clearly what those tongues were and what they were used for.

But some have misunderstood statements by Paul, such as, 1 Corinthians 13:1 "Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal."

And such as, 1 Corinthians 14:2 "For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries."

I am not going to discuss those here, but if any would like to dig deeper into what those and simular statements by Paul really mean, they are welcome to ask me, one verse at a time.

Then this ? remains for all those that do not get water babtised but do believe in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ will these be saved? you have studied well, having much to say help me out will you? And if it is that Iust be water Babtized to be saved then which Church do I go to or can I do it anywhere with anyone?
These are great questions Homewardbound and you know I love ya. I believe that the passion for this subject by all parties is a great thing because each participant is about getting and keeping their walk with Jesus real. There is one scripture that we all agree on, if we do not Love Jesus, no one is going anywhere but down.

If I might chime-in on these questions with this comment, there remain one scripture that all at the CC stumble.

The scriptures say:

Matthew 7th Chapter

19] Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20] Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. 21] "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22] Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?'

The scriptures say the Lord rejected them and said that He never knew them. Many have given commentary but I can only find two reasons for the Lord rejecting these people:

Hypotheses

1] They omit the "water baptism" as a necessary deed and 2] They are Sorcerers/Charlatans or their Hearts are void of "Love".

Supporting Data

Acts 8:13 Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.

20] But Peter said unto him, Your money perish with you, because you have thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. 21] You have neither part nor lot in this matter: for your heart is not right in the sight of God.

This example is self-evident—Simon believed, accepted water baptism, but was not “born again”. This example teaches that believing is not enough to be born again. To be “Born Again” a believer must be “baptized in water” and “Receive the Holy Spirit”; just as Jesus stated.

Moreover, it is important to understand that Simon did not argue with the process requirements, which included “water baptism”—he obeyed.

In like manner, the townspeople could not receive the Holy Spirit for lack of belief because Simon had deceived them but they did follow through with the baptism by water; Acts the 8th chapter. After Peter freed the peoples mind from the (witchcraft) deception, the townspeople received the Holy Spirit in mass numbers.

The other is “intent”.

Example:

King Saul had all the anointing that King David had and the blessings of the prophet in his favor. Saul’s heart (mind) was rebellious; the scriptures say that rebellion (disobedience) is worse than witchcraft.

1 Samuel 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

Saul received a simple command from God and instead of following it; Saul modified the command for personal gain and believed his anointing had higher authority than did Daniel the prophet. Because Saul rebelled (disobeyed God’s word), he lost his anointing and his Spiritual and natural progeny; i.e., God rejected him from the “kingdom”.

I conclude that the reason Jesus will reject those in Matt 7:22 is for these reasons:

Rebellion to God’s word that commands and reveals His will concerning the necessity of “water baptism”, and possessing the gifts of the Spirit without “Agape”. I include agape because Jesus clearly states in (NT) John 14:15 that if you love Him you will keep His commandments; not as King Saul who rebelled at the command (Word) of the prophet.

Please note that Jesus in the Matthew scripture above: They performed all of the Lord's commandments; i.e. prophesying, casting out devils, miracles and all in the name of Jesus with the exception of the water baptism--this cannot be ignored.

This is my hypothesis concerning “water and Spirit baptisms” as a necessity for being “Born Again”. All comments welcomed.

Please Note That The Scriptures Say "To Enter The kingdom of God" this subject does not say nor does the Bible say that the person that believes will not receive eternal life. Once and again, it says to enter the "kingdom of God".

There is nothing wrong to be baptized with water... NOTHING... I just hope it brings you closer to the BAPTISM THAT COUNTS...
Not likely that a baptism done in scriptural ignorance will accomplish anything.
Here is my problem with water-baptism.... Who does the baptism... I would let ANY of the people in the Bible baptize me with water... John the Baptist and any of the Apostles/disciples of Jesus. Even Philip, the evangelist, but today's pastors and the ones I know.... NOPE! Philip was said to be full of the Holy Spirit, and so was John and the apostles.

The people that wanted to baptize me, I want NOTHING to be like them, but even Philip the deacon had something these pastors did not have.... FULL OF HOLY SPIRIT, AND GOD'S SPIRIT WITNESSING WITH PHILIP...

So again I ask.... WHO'S EXAMPLE DO THE WATERBAPTIZERS FOLLOW IF JESUS DID NOT BAPTIZE WITH WATER... They follow not JESUS when they baptize with water....

Joh 4:1 When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,
Joh 4:2 Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,

Jesus knew soon HE WILL START HIS BAPTISM... THE ONE BAPTISM IN EPH 4... SPIRIT BAPTISM.
Jesus knew that before He created the world.
JC where does this thing come from that ONE ACCEPT JESUS AS THEIR SAVIOUR? I cannot find that scripture... Because it is not BIBLICAL. We do NOT do the choice... GOD MAKES THE CHOICE!

This is one false teaching that we should stop right now here on CC.... NOBODY EVER CHOSE TO ACCEPT JESUS! Father gives people to Jesus, because HE CHOSE TOO! And becasue that point does not exist, you are NOT BAPTIZED INTO CHRIST THERE!
How would you respond to John 3:19? Jesus said that no man could come to Him except the Father draw him. Jesus said if He were lifted up He would draw all men unto Him. John 12:32 John 6:44

For the cause of Christ

Did Paul Babtise in water or the Holy Ghost? one Babtism Sister
Ephesians 4:5One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
I respectfully disagree my friend. Please consider the following scriptures:

Acts 19

1And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, 2He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. 3And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. 4Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. 5When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. 7And all the men were about twelve.

I highlighted in bold the text that counts two baptisms; 1] in "water" and 2] by the "Holy Ghost". Two very distinct and separate acts. How can anyone refute this?

when was that? do you know?

New International Version (©2011)

New Living Translation (©2007)
John baptized with water, but in just a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit."

English Standard Version (©2001)
for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”

New American Standard Bible (©1995)
for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now."

King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.)
For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

Acts 1
1The first account I composed, Theophilus, about all that Jesus began to do and teach,2until the day when He was taken up to heaven, after He had by the Holy Spirit given orders to the apostles whom He had chosen.3To these He also presented Himself alive after His suffering, by many convincing proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days and speaking of the things concerning the kingdom of God.4Gathering them together, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had promised, “Which,” He said, “you heard of from Me;5for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit

not many days from now

* * 6So when they had come together, they were asking Him, saying, “Lord, is it at this time You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?”7He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority;8but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”

The Coming of the Holy Spirit
1When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. 2And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. 3And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. 4And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

5Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven. 6And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own language. 7And they were amazed and astonished, saying, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans? 8And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language? 9Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 10Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, 11both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians—we hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God.” 12And all were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?” 13But others mocking said, “They are filled with new wine.”

Peter’s Sermon at Pentecost
14But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them: “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words. 15For these people are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day.b 16
But this is
what was
uttered through
the prophet Joel
:

17 “‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares,
that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh,
and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
and your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams;
18 even on my male servantsc and female servants
in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.
19 And I will show wonders in the heavens above
and signs on the earth below,
blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke;
20 the sun shall be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood,
before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day.
21 And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’

22“Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know— 23this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men. 24God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it. 25For David says concerning him,

“‘I saw the Lord always before me,
for he is at my right hand that I may not be shaken;
26 therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced;
my flesh also will dwell in hope.
27 For you will not abandon my soul to Hades,
or let your Holy One see corruption.
28 You have made known to me the paths of life;
you will make me full of gladness with your presence.’

29“Brothers, I may say to you with confidence about the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. 30Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne, 31he foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. 32This Jesus God raised up, and of that we all are witnesses. 33Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing. 34For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says,

“‘The Lord said to my Lord,
Sit at my right hand,
35 until I make your enemies your footstool.’

36Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”

37Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” 38And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” 40And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.” 41So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.

The Fellowship of the Believers
42And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43And awed came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
My dear sister, LOL...you really know how to make your point noticed...LOL

Did Paul Babtise in water or the Holy Ghost? one Babtism Sister
Ephesians 4:5One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
Paul clearly did both...

Acts 19:5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. 7And all the men were about twelve.

The scripture in Ephesians has always been controversial but it applies to the body of Christ and monotheism. Water baptism at this phases of Church growth understood that for new believers it was necessary to be baptized in water and by the Holy Ghost.

I, also, am curious as to what her main point is. I think she is saying that this only applied to the beginning of the church, empowering the church to take root in the earth among men.

And if that be so, then I in part agree as the pronouns are being used in the plural, denoting that it was the church as a group being spoken to, and not the individuals.

This is why the empahasis is on adding to the body of the church from there forward.

What say you zone? Can you add clarification for us?

A Missouri mule has a natural kick. There is another saying in Missouri which goes, 'When you notice many men who have no buckets in Missouri, it is not because they sit on those buckets too much. It is that their women kick the hardest and some Missouri woman has kicked their bucket right off of them.' LOL. :)

It is kind of cute when we understand the culture.

Galatians 3:27, "For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ."

This is the only way a person can get into Christ. Notice that the preposition "into" is used. Into is a change of relationship. Search all you want to, you will not find in the Bible anywhere to get into Christ Jesus except through baptism.

Paul in Romans 6:3 repeats the same thing, "Or do you not know, that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?"

So the only way we can get into Jesus (Body of Christ) is to be baptized into it. Either a person has been baptized into the Body of Christ, or they remain outside. We are either in or we are out.

Different from the Holy Spirit "setting upon" an individual. It came upon King Saul but he disobeyed and was demoted. Simon the sorcerer was baptized in the name of Jesus and it says that he believed because of the miracles but did not receive the Holy Ghost because he did not love the Lord but wanted the power and benefits of being baptized into Jesus; yet, he is greater in obedience than many that claim they love the Lord.

It takes both water and spirit and there is no other way to be "born again". Being baptized in water is the answer for a good conscience toward God and it saves us:

"1 Peter 3:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:"

Romans 6:1-4

1What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? 3Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?4Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Challenge: Do it and see if the Word of God is true. Find someone that believes it just the way the Bible says it was performed in the NT book of Acts and see if your life changes for the better.

I very much like the way you have simplified that to us. Thank you. :)

In it I can see where we could see entering the water as a symbol of re-entering the womb, but this time the womb filled with the water of God's word of truth, so that we are born again by the life in that water of the word, into Christ as matured Christians.

There is much comparison in that to Galatians chapter 4, but I will not over complicate this comment with a discussion of that, for the moment.

Yes, I believe as you that not only did Jesus liken the "New Birth" experience to a natural birth, he then gave Peter the "Keys" to the kingdom of God, which is the new birth revelation of "How to Be Born Again".

It takes the Spirit to "see" the things of God. Honest believers desire to see the spiritual things concerning God. To do so, it will take the "New Birth" experience to enter "into" that realm; not everyone can receive the "meat" of the Word. I appreciate the way the Apostle Paul said it "You are New Creatures". "What type of New Creature?" a new type of spirit being come alive in Christ Jesus.

There is nothing we can do with this flesh except keep it under (subjection) control by our "renewed" minds in Jesus. What we cannot handle ourselves, the Holy Spirit will make us aware of what is an offense, forgive us when we repent, then defend us against the "Accuser of the Saints".

Again, the scriptures point to the fact that we control our wills and where we are weak in the flesh, Jesus is "quicker" to extend His grace until we get it right. We that understand this are to bear or encourage those that self-condemn, which is a trick of the devil to control our will through deception. We all have sinned and we all are with sin so long as we remain in this (body of death) flesh.

Baptism Examples Pointing to the present:

Noah; baptized in the flood >The Hebrew; baptized in the Red Sea > Israeli Priest washed with water before entering the holy place--mikvah-ritual immersion > and any Church age believer that desires to enter into the kingdom of God must do so through Jesus--He is that holy place.

baptism with fire is judgment - possibly to hell.
Jesus had 70AD in mind.
We all have the right to interpret what is truth to each person and as long as it works for you then go with it.
I know what has worked in confirmatioin to me from God and this fire is to burn out ones flesh, here and now.
For no one can worship God in the flesh, we are called to be born again, and this is bythe life of Christ, and if someone can't see this then God has not yet revealed this to them and I am positive there would be for a reason. the battle today is between flesh and Spirit
[h=3]Galatians 5:13[/h]New International Version (NIV)

[h=3]Life by the Spirit[/h][SUP]13 [/SUP]You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.
Galatians 5:14
For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Galatians 5:15If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.
Galatians 5:16So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

Galatians 5:17For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.
Today water Babtism is of the flesh togoout and dowhat is right in the energy of ones own flesh.
The Spirit Babtism is of the resurrection of Christ in the Spirit of God
For God today can only be worshipped in Spirit and truth
John 4:23Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.
John 4:24God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”
John 14:17the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.

[h=3]John 3:5-8[/h]New International Version (NIV)

[SUP]5 [/SUP]Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born ofwater and the Spirit. [SUP]6 [/SUP]Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. [SUP]7 [/SUP]You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ [SUP]8 [/SUP]The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”
