This conversation is officially terrifying and I think I may be scarred for life...
Would you date someone with emotional scars due to nightmares of obese assassins?

Hahaha! Actually, I would worry if someone wasn't emotionally scarred by those nightmares!

TRUE. but god says in the bible that if we dont forgive others, then how can he forgive us..?
i do understand what youre saying tho. i was just curious. but im not the same person as i was
back then.

I agree that we should forgive people. But I don't see how someone who has lost their virginity or had kids has sinned against me. They have done nothing to me that would require me to forgive them. I get your point that people leave their old life behind when they come to Christ, but that doesn't mean I can't refuse to date them. Its not about forgiveness, its about being comfortable with who you're in a relationship with.

Poor Sharp. lol

Ok, for what its worth....I have children (so hence obviously not a virgin), and I take no offence to Sharps stand on what he wants in a relationship.

I think half the battle is figureing out what you truly want...and then not compromising on it.

If you are truly seeking after God...and following the holy spirit in your life when He guides.....and if the Lord directs you to somoeone that is not of those things then I believe you will follow what the Lord is asking of you. Otherwise, stick to your convictions and be true to yourself.

Thank you so much for saying this, Grace... that it's not evil, judgmental, or sinful to have certain ideals or standards... and then just sticking to them.

If I knew a good single guy to hook you up with, Musical... I would definitely tell him you're worth overlooking any emotional scars or nightmares...

But I might tell him you're a little leary of buffet restaurants because of... the obese assassins that might hang out there. (Fried chicken night!! Yum!!) :)

i compare this with my right not to date someone with four arms or say two foreheads..... i gotta be comfortable in my relationship with the person like you said... and i definantly wouldnt be comfortable not knowing which hand to hold or which forhead to look at! ;)

*covers her extra forhead* It's not THAT bad, is it?

hmmm well that depends..... is your extra forhead at least appealing??? lol

It's the prettiest second forhead in the world. Just ask the three-eared artist who painted my portrait.

Hmmm, I don't know... I'll have to talk to him about it (he's a great listener)

That's because, of course, the guy who painted her portrait has 4 ears... :)

Sorry everyone!! If you have something crucial to say about this topic (not that what we're saying isn't crucial :)), please feel free to jump in.

gotchyaaaa.
i see now. lol sorry about that misunderstanding.
(:

incorporate street. lol
its the name i use for my photography.

If I dated a single person with no children, hed have no responsibilities towards my child unless we got married. Then Id expect him to care about her, and to be a good role model. The same way if I met a single person with child/ren. Id get to know them if we were getting serious but I wouldnt be obligated to support them financially etc until theres a ring on the finger.
But I think most men and women who care enough about the person they are dating, are willing to get to know the kids early on because they are part and parcel of the single parent.
Now that I think of it, my former sister in law had kids to my brother. They got divorced and she met a new guy. He told her to let the kids go to my brother so she can be with him. They ended up getting married but she was so torn between her kids and the new husband that it not only destroyed her 2nd marriage but also damaged her kids.

was interesting readong some posts above on the virignity side.

I dont care about a womans past. only today matters and tomorrow

but always fasiniating lisitening to men talk of how they want to marry a virgin , but never raising the issue of themselves not being virgin.

IF both partners are virgin i think that is great. but once you have had sex. no point holding out for a virgin. Just forget the past . love them for who they are now.

On one hand yeah this is a thread necro rampage...

On the other hand she's picking some really good threads and I can't wait to see what she digs up next! =^.^=
