I understand completely what you're saying about sugar, but it gets to the point where a person is afraid to eat anything.

I go back and forth between consisting on nothing but fruit and vegetables, natural peanut butter, egg whites (because everyone knows the yolk will kill you... rolls eyes), oatmeal, and fortified cereal (as little sugar as possible, of course), and then getting fed up with eating spinach and squash (summer squash, mind you, not the sugar-laden winter squashes, heaven forbid!) that I just wind up going crazy anyway. Then I hear about all the pesticides on my produce (the organic is beyond my current budget) and wonder how much poison I've gulped down for the sake of a few bugs on my broccoli.

I've also noticed that many people who follow incredibly strict routines develop a Pharisitical attitude about food and their appearance -- if THEY can hold to such a discipline, surely everyone else can as well and if they can't, it simply must be their own laziness -- which is most certainly not the case.

The reason I'm writing this is because one has to be very careful when speaking to audiences about eating and so forth. Those of us who struggle with eating disorders often feel condemned for even thinking about consuming such things (candy bars... straight from the devil, everyone knows that! So someone hand me another one!)

The other day I watched someone chew out their spouse for 1/2 an hour -- because the poor dope actually dared to pick up 1% milk instead of completely fat free. I was thinking to myself, who cares about all the fat, what you really have to worry about are the antibiotics and hormones they add... And the person ranting about "not needing all that fat"... weighs less than 90 pounds.

Sugar is poison, I agree.

But nowadays? So is everything else.

Sugar isn't poison.

Genesis 1:29
Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.

Processed foods with added sugar are poison. End of story. If you want something sweet, eat mangos, cantaloupes, cherries, etc. God gave us candy that grows out of the ground by his own divine design.

Now that I've put an end to this thread. I think.. yea... I'll have a Snickers.

I see a new set of Christian marketing wristbands in the near future...

WJES???

Would Jesus Eat Sugar????

Hmm.

Curiosity would get the best of me, I admit.

Because while I was at it, I would also ask Him if He eats Devil's Food cake.

...hey thar...., I hear you, but its so easy to avoid this stuff and eat as much as you like..., you just need to understand the chemistry of the body and how it works...

...as I said, the substitutes are actually sweeter, and when feeling like something sweet and chocolaty, have a whey protein shake ... found in bodybuilders shops (ones with very little carb content)

...I eat tons..., but just avoid carbs, esp. after breakfast and esp. when not physically active... its easy....and tasty...

...lots of chicken, lean meats, veges, protein shakes, sweet alternatives, fruits now and then --- (mornings best) ---- etc..., and know the herbs that also help....

...also, more smaller meals throughout the day increase your bodies metabolism..., ie: 5 or 6 small meals per day....

...if a person only has 2 meals a day, or one...their metabolism will slow down as their body will interpret this as a 'shortage of food' and start to conserve 'fat stores'...

...hope that helps... :)

PS: lots of protein shakes throughout the day when feeling like a snack helps a great deal

...I think a number project what they think Jesus would do as part of their own persona...

...truth is; I believe He is one with the Source of Intelligence and Wisdom and it shines from Him...

...I don't think he would even listen to a comment containing the words 'devils food cake'..., quite frankly --- He would not think it was 'cool'..., just like the use of the sub-level trendy word 'wicked'....I know He would never approve nor listen to nor accept such concepts, because they create a negative ... and are by their very nature and underlying concept - a spirit of opposition to the Spirit of Rightness and Truth and Honour - and to His Father in Heavens - Character and Nature...

When I was a waitress in high school, there were at least 2 times that I can recall when an older man asked me to put my finger in his tea to make it sweet. I never knew how to respond, I'd usually just awkwardly laugh and then scurry away. :p

Interesting.

Maybe.

But Jesus is pretty resilient. He spoke words of healing, forgiveness, and comfort to a woman caught in adultery whom the Pharisees were sure He would stone on sight. He shocked the religious experts of the day at every turn. I'm sure He'd do the same today if the Father had chosen now to come to the world.

I actually just asked Him about the devil's food cake right now in a prayer... wondering if He'd find humor in it or would rebuke me for mentioning it.

If He doesn't answer right away, at least someday I'll get to ask Him in person.
