When Jesus began his public ministry in Galilee, his message was: Repent (Mark 1:15).
When Holy Spirit power came upon the early church on the Day of Pentecost and Peter became bold and began to preach, Peter's message was: Repent (Acts 1:38).
As the first century neared its close and the elderly Apostle John was exiled on the island of Patmos, Jesus gave him a message for seven churches and repeatedly, the message for the churches was: Repent (Revelation 2: 5, 21, 22, 3: 3, 19).
Holiness and purity matter. Disciples of Jesus are called to repentance and this is more than a one time event.
The narrow way that leads to life (Matthew 7:14) is a way of hearing and heeding and repentance. If you have ears, please hear.
There are many defintions for the word repent.
I can repent, change my mind and stop smoking correct? Can I start again? I can quit many things in behavior and this is considered repentance right? And all this is worldly yes, of this earth?
Is God of this world? how is God worshipped today, by the Spirit or the flesh?
So I can worldly repent of drinking and quit, stop smoking, stop all kinds of sin, and yet go back or return to any or all as a dog returns to his own vomit right? And all this is flesh behavior right, not Spirit of God behavior is it?
So concludng that true repentance to God is to believe God
believe,see, recieve, once the recieved is done, there is no turning back to the garbage can this world and its ways.
The recieved part is the resurrected life of Christ in the Spirit of Christ, the Holy Ghost, given to us by Father a free gift to us and there is no turning back from this, we have transferred from death to life
Many believe and are on their way only tasting, sampling, not yet come to full maturity, have not yet settled the fact that God just love them and are working very hard to find the truth out, many thus when want to be teachers have need to be taught all over again
[h=3]Hebrews 5:11-6:6[/h]New King James Version (NKJV)
[SUP]
11 [/SUP]of whom we have much to say, and hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing.
[h=3]Spiritual Immaturity[/h][SUP]
12[/SUP]
For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. [SUP]
13[/SUP]
For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. [SUP]
14 [/SUP]
But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
[h=3]The Peril of Not Progressing[/h]6
Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, [SUP]2 [/SUP]of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. [SUP]
3 [/SUP]
And this we will do if God permits.

4 [/SUP]
For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, [SUP]
5 [/SUP]and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, [SUP]

if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.
Christ plain and simply is not coming back to die for sin again over and over as what was done in the Old Testament, he did this once and for all, in order to cleanse you once and for all time so you then by this can be made a new by God through the resurrected Christ
Romans 6:10
For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.
Hebrews 7:27who does not need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the people’s, for this He did once for all when He offered up Himself.
Hebrews 9:12Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.
Hebrews 10:10By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
