MATTHEW 5 [20] For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. [21] Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, THOU SHALT NOT KILL; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: [22] BUT I SAY UNTO YOU, THAT WHOSOEVER IS ANGRY WITH HIS BROTHER WITHOUT A CAUSE SHALL BE IN DANGER OF THE JUDGMENT: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

OLD LETTER- Thou shalt not kill
NEW SPIRIT- Don’t even get angry. Call no man a fool. Love one another in thought, word and deed.

If your keeping the spirit of the law are you also keeping the letter?

Remember, His spirit is WALLED inside you (inside your spiri) you, your self, as after having accepted Christ into your heart, you are a spiritual being , wallbanger, with a human flesh body, and, note, this is NOT us yet glorified) Hey, is your name 'Harvey.' ? :D Oh , yeah, anyway, just kdiding around, ya know, 'Love.' :)

Not sure what you mean by your Matt. 5 post to me. But, yeah, flesh (principalities and powers influence our flesh, try to, anyway) and the spirit (our spirit is attacked by other spirits) are at war inside us, we are to worship Him in spirit and in truth and He will show us how perfectly we do this :)

Right !!! !!!! !!!!! :)
The Spirit reveals all truth to us, and, certainly, it's common sense that He wants us to folllow His laws. But, the Lord leads, and, you will know IF you are suppose to break some law, oooh, oh, just a little 'white' break of the law, not a lie, I mean, lie, GASP! sinner. Thou shalt not lie :D

Oh, my, I'm really sounding hoppin' weird now, I think.

IF you Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul, and, His Spirit is leading yours, you will know, don't you know, IF you have His Spirit in you now, you are led , so says Romans 8:14 anyway, Ima gonna go with that, my Dad says it, I believe it :)

There isn't a spirit of the law.

There is the spirit.

And there is law.

You are under one or the other. If you attempt to be under both at the same time you become 'luke-warm' as described of the Laodiceans in Rev 3

Well then if I claim to be under the spirit and we happen to meet in a dark alley and your wallet is missing, just remember we are not under the law. You really believe this MBFM?

Of course it's a sin because it works both ways.
But sin is the transgression of the Law, so there must be a Law hanging around there somewhere. If there is no Law, Paul plainly says there is no sin. You can't just make this stuff up as you go.

Because this reply answers to this op also, I am pasting it here for the benefit of any who are willing to read it.

It seems those against the law are seeking the law more than those who do the law by the new nature afforded by the Holy Spirit. The law for those who live in grace is only a reminder of the words given by our Father, Yahweh, or if you prefer, Jesus, to study and gain wisdom in teaching what is the best way and action in certain given instances, but those who have received Yeshua know this by nature. For why does it teach how "aforetime the believers were disobedient," if the laws did not still account for a persons actions in part. Of course it goes on to say it is our conscience that is clear in the sight of God, but our nature has become obedient. Obey the Father, good children DO this.

1Pe 3:18
Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God; being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;

1Pe 3:19
in which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison,

1Pe 3:20
that aforetime were disobedient, when the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water:

1Pe 3:21
which also after a true likeness doth now save you, even baptism, not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the interrogation of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ;

1Pe 3:22
who is on the right hand of God, having gone into heaven; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.

I understand you. You think you can lie and bear false witness and God doesn't care because you believe your not under the 10 commandments. You think you can do as you please and not obey God. Now theres a pretty sad theology. Good luck with that.
Now if you were not lying please post my words "only" where I made the claim God was saving bulls and goats and not men. If you are lying just write in your own words the story you wish to spread.

GRANDPA WRITES Post #643,646,647,660...
You are attempting to separate the Law into sections and say the Lord Jesus fulfilled the law of sacrifice only, the "ceremonial" law.
You are not showing that the Lord has fulfilled all the Law nor do I think you believe it.
So... If the Lord has only fulfilled a part of the Law then you are effectively saying that He is saving bulls and goats from being killed. What you don't understand is that if The Lord Jesus didn't fulfill all the Law then we are still guilty before it with no hope.

Yup. Not my words
Galatians 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
James 2:8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
James 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
[h=3]Hebrews 10:1-10[/h]New King James Version (NKJV)

[h=3]Animal Sacrifices Insufficient[/h]10 For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect. [SUP]2 [/SUP]For then would they not have ceased to be offered? For the worshipers, once purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins. [SUP]3 [/SUP]But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year. [SUP]4 [/SUP]For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.
[h=3]Christ’s Death Fulfills God’s Will[/h][SUP]5 [/SUP]Therefore, when He came into the world, He said:
“Sacrifice and offering You did not desire,
But a body You have prepared for Me.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin
You had no pleasure.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come—
In the volume of the book it is written of Me—
To do Your will, O God.’”

[SUP]8 [/SUP]Previously saying, “Sacrifice and offering, burnt offerings, and offerings for sin You did not desire, nor had pleasure in them” (which are offered according to the law), [SUP]9 [/SUP]then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God.” He takes away the first that He may establish the second. [SUP]10 [/SUP]By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

We are still guilty before the Law and we are without hope unless we turn to Christ for forgiveness for breaking His Law.
No; not in Christ we are not at all anymore 1John 2:1 we have an advocate our propitiation for all sin, has been by God through Christ, this has been taken care of at the cross for all that have seen the whole truth 100% forgiven and thus raised back to life by the resurrection
rom. 6:4

Those that believe God have received and we have and do respond to the amazing gift of God in praises and worship, worshipping in Spirit and truth
John 4:23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.
John 4:24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Forsaking: our unredeemed flesh
Galatians 4:29 But, as he who was born according to the flesh then persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, even so it is now.
Galatians 5:13 For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
Galatians 5:16 [ Walking in the Spirit ] I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
Galatians 5:17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish
Galatians 5:24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Romans 5:10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

Saved by the life not the death and go out and try to obey as what this world teaches never being relieved from stress, never entering God's rest as what God wants one to do is enter God's rest (Hebrews 3and 4). Rather the life where we are born again by God in the Spirit of Christ, where no sin occurs. So growing in grace is learning to walk by the Spirit of God from God by the resurrected Christ

1 John 4:19 We love Him because He first loved us.

the above is a response in appreciation and not a work. Hope for you all to see this

NO sin occurs.

Born of God, one does not sin.

COVERED by the blood of Christ.

Well said, homeboundHis, great way to put His Love for us, which, is, oh, so great, Christ peeps, so great. Behold ! What manner of Love the Father has given unto us :) We STOMPED on His face, did things that showed our hate, ridiculed Him on the cross we are told, ALL of us, SINNERS!, yet Christ died for us, took the blow, when He was sinless, sin-free, and, did NOT want to do it but DID obey His Father's will :)

why do you like to distort things.

Saying the law is done away with ONLY MEANS saying the law can not save us. Why do you want to twist it and say it means there is no sin?? Talk about ad hominem falshood!!

The law is a tutor. to bring us to christ, because it SHOWS US how sinfull and undeserving we are. That is the ONLY PURPOSE of the law.

People knew what sin was before the law was even given, it was written on their hearts. It was not called the law. The law puts in print the crimes we are guilty of. Why? Because ALL have sinned and fall short. This NO ONE has an excuse.

Why do you think your so Holy. When the law says your so Guilty??!!

You said; "People knew what sin was before the law was even given," lol,, oh my... How would they know what sin is without any law to compare it with? wow... You are way out there,, perhaps another green mark is needed.

They really should do away with the green marks on this site.. A nieve person could actually see that and think you are one to question and seek advice from.... How lost they would be after being schooled by you. Please stop!

You ever read romans 1?? Wow. you call yourself a Christian? and you can not even understand the truth? How do you think Abraham knew what sin was??

Please study the word of God before you start judging others.. A good start would be romans.. You might learn something.

Here is a start:

[SUP]18 [/SUP]For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, [SUP]19 [/SUP]because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. [SUP]20 [/SUP]For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, [SUP]21 [/SUP]because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. [SUP]22 [/SUP]Professing to be wise, they became fools

[SUP]28 [/SUP]And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; [SUP]29 [/SUP]being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality,[SUP][c][/SUP] wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, [SUP]30 [/SUP]backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, [SUP]31 [/SUP]undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving,[SUP][d][/SUP] unmerciful; [SUP]32 [/SUP]who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.

And before you go twisting what Paul said. The key words here are "SINCE THE CREATION OF THE WORLD"

This means everyone from adam until the law was given ARE INCLUDED!
