Adam and Eve had many daughters--I'm sure one of them met Cain along the way.

And wherever this came from is wiped out when one follows the lineage from Seth on to Noah and his sons and wife's. For Noah was in the lineage of Adam and Eve, and the whole world was flooded and all else killed, and this wiped out the giants in those days and the Spirits that saw the women as fair and came to earth having sex with them.
So we start over at Noah.
I wondered the same where did Cain's wife come from? And what I just said is the answer I got, and am settled with that

I know this position might sound weak, because it has pretty much ran it's course with non-believers, that they naturally would counter with the argument that it is "mindless" or "naive".

But I think it's a good argument that we can use to ourselves as believers...

Here's the opinion:

"If it was important, God would have told us."

Or, maybe He does with the Holy Spirit to some people.
I can't make that claim for myself, I have no decided theory where they came from.

But I entertain all possibilities, that He
Might have created them later and seperately and it just didn't get recorded.
Or "Adam" might refer to the first falling single man of an already multiplied "Adam" of mankind.
Or that they married their sisters out of an initial necessity, which later was designated as taboo.
Or who knows.

For me, it's some unknown seed I found laying around, planted, just letting nature take care of it's germination, with no idea whether or when it will ever sprout or what it will grow into, grass, a bush, a tree, etc.

I can say this with confidence though, all names in the bible have meanings that are crucial to understanding the story, and in this case, we are not even given her name, so it "doesn't matter" but would be "awesome to know"

One of the most commonly asked questions by believers or unbelievers. The wife probably was a sister, since incest was not a problem before the flood. It really became a problem after. Plus they had to be fruitful and multiply. Plus as one other person said the Bible does not always give you all the details. Maybe when you get the heaven, if you even still have this question, you can ask God face to face.

God spoken to Moses about the main subjects and which Adam and Eve had daughters, but God didn't uncovered their nakedness. If He would have uncovered their nakedness that it would had confused the people and they would of have thought that incest was okay to practice since their ancestors has practice it. But the people wouldn't understand that it wasn't unlawful at the time of Adam because they have thought that practicing incest wasn't wrong. So God has left out the sins that He has sanctified at the time. So God doesn't mention anyones ones sins that He has sanctified.

Revelation 3:18
I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.

Genesis 9:23
But Shem and Japheth took a garment and laid it across their shoulders; then they walked in backward and covered their father’s naked body. Their faces were turned the other way so that they would not see their father naked.

Job 1:8
Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.”

Blameless doesn't means that you are freed from sin, but it's means that God understand your sins and He covers them.

I don't think it's mindless or naive. I don't think the bible would be as successful if it read as a census for who was born and when.

Even as a non believer it's a very weak argument to bring up lineage. It's an important piece of literature. Not a phone book

Some very possible and reasonable probability is that the genetic structure was such that the life dynamics with in adam and eve's genetics had not the conflicts of matching genetics, think of them different in a unique way that either ones' genetics, not having any father or mother So, God creating the first had this power and design seems they had to for awhile considering they be the first to populate the earth also very possibly Adam and Eve under some traditional word of mouth history had 300 sons and 300 daughters (540 years removed from the first to the last) which even in this day genetic matching would be dynamic enough for healthy relationships and healthy genetic viability.

I believe it is apparent that no one will ever come closer than speculating whether or not God created other people after the fall, so that Cain could marry. Yet, would it make sense for God to create humans after the fall? I mean, wouldn't he have to create the "new" people without original sin? After all, original sin comes from Adam and Eve, but if God were to create new humans (I know this is a huge hypothetical), surely He could not possibly create them with sin in them; this is just food for thought. But this really is an intriguing question, and I am sure that one day God will reveal the answer to us.

Grace and Peace!

Well it said he went to the land of nod. And thats up east .from where they were.

Cain was cursed, and in no way shape or form would some one marked by God at that time be sleeping with his sisters or anyone from a family whom he murdered their brother..

Also, Cain is not listen in Adams Genealogy . so you can even make the claim that he was not even Adam's son. because he is Not in his genealogy .

God stated He created Adam and Eve after the 7th day. God made man on the 6th day also. And It is more possible that he went to the land, named by people already, and took a wife from people living there in that area...

Open up your bible and read it yourself.

He married his sister of course. Adam and Eve probably had several sons and daughters that aren't mentioned in the bible.

Remember, before the flood of Noah people lived to be 800-900 years old. Cain and able could have both been over 100 years old before all this falling out happened between them. and they might have already been married.

Anyone saying he married his sister is lying to you. Because, that is Not written. We have more evidence for what is written, and to go on that, then, just ignoring what is written. Lets read what is written.

If you think its the same day, and you ignore that, even though it expressly gives you different days to read there.

See that on the 6th day, no husbandman is mentioned. But only hunters and fishers.

But if you read Adam is described as a husbandman . A tiller of the soil. so you have more proof of him being a different from those on the 6th day if some one wanted to claim something different then whats written there. then they are not going to according what is written, and rather what is Not written. read it yourself.

If there were another group of people that were made on the sixth day, then they wouldn't have no part of Adam's sin, they'll be still in the Garden.

Genesis 19:37
The older daughter had a son, and she named him Moab; he is the father of the Moabites of today.

Ruth 1:4
They married Moabite women, one named Orpah and the other Ruth. After they had lived there about ten years,

Oh, and I forgotten about this act that was performed before the laws were made, and which the law giver has came from.

Exodus 6:20
Amram married his father’s sister Jochebed, who bore him Aaron and Moses. Amram lived 137 years.

There several things that must be mentioned. First of all as we know Adam and eve gave birth to Cain and abel. Abel was killed and cain was rejected. We do not see a complete genealogy of Cain. Then Adam bore Seth and set's genealogy is given. But only the name of his first born and so on down the line. Only the firstborn name is giving then after it say's he had son's and daughters. God the Holy Spirit found it only necessary to record the lineage that would ultimately produce Christ.

For instance, you won't find the offspring of esau listed nor that of Ishmael. The Holy Spirit found that to be insignificant.

Thirdly, these people lived 6,7,8,9 hundred years so you could imagine the"sons and daughters" the could produce. Many did not marry and have children to well in the hundreds. So Cain's wife could be from any of these. Remember there was now law. Every man did what was right in his own eye.
