Tell me friend, didn't Lazarus get resurrected and live on? So how do you know he didn't die the second time after Jesus died? Exactly....he is part of those in the new covenant..
Men who lived in the Old Testament times looked forward to the Cross......

We who are alive today,, simply look backwards to the Cross........

All men, from Adam to the last name in the Lambs Book of Life are saved By GRACE. And GRACE ALONE!

With what I know knowing verses in Luke of the parable is a reflection of Ephesians 4:8-10, which I believe from Adam to the man on the cross, that they don't have to wait for the resurrection because Jesus lead the captivity free from the sheol. I do believe the resurrection is now for the people after Jesus died whether they believe in Christ or not....
The resurrection is now? Did you read the passages? They plainly show the resurrection to be at the return of Christ...

1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
1Co 15:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.

Excuse me,, I thought I did. What I am saying is this:

There is no such doctrine that teaches those that lived before Jesus died have been taken to heaven already. That is why I gave you Peter's Sermon about king David still being in his grave, dead!

All the dead,, from Adam to the last person that dies with the hope of the Cross will be raised at the last day!

So,, a few are there in heaven right now,,,, Elijah,, Moses... but,, we can see in the scripture that they were both taken, physically.

The rest wait in the grave, til the Appearance of Jesus.

Sir, I ask thee, read old testament scriptures on Hades (underworld, sheol), and study them...........it might help you understand what I'm throwing across

I am not answering for Michael, but personally, I have and they are not anything like I was told in the Methodist church. But then again, very little of what I was told in the Methodist church is in the Bible.

I heard from former Methodist, they hold on to something called methodology??? I don't know what that is....

I've already been down that road. I have no doubt that the dead are in their graves. I also have no doubt that satan will decieve all who beleive the dead are alive.

Believing the dead are alive is false doctrine. I don't buy into it.

lololol,,, I know you do.

So,, what about King David and Peters Sermon? Was Peter wrong about King David? Acts 2;29-34
Even David agrees sheol existed in his psalms...

Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
If I ascend to heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there there. Psalms 139:7-8

I take that mean we can't escape from God,, we are in His universe. Even Satan is stuck on this earth. He can't even go to the moon!

Which makes me wonder about the social behavior of the astronauts? But,, I suppose they are already in a sinful state,, so Satan doesn't need to be present with them on the moon for them to be tempted to sin. The bible states Satan is on this earth. I don't beleive he is free to roam the universe.
but I suppose that's another topic.

1.5 is not the final answer.

this is off topic but I see it like this. Our space programs are no longer funded to go to mars and such, but ironically the story of the tower of Babel cries through that. We Americans prideful in our ways trying to reach higher and higher to heaven to only be stopped by a mighty all knowing God.

From your post, it seems you believe the dead are alive. So get ready,,,,,because Satan has all sorts of devious deceptions for those who believe the dead are alive.
Death = separation from God.
Hades = the abode of the dead.
They who die in their sins are dead.
For those who are in Christ, to be absent from the body is to be present before the Lord.

I will ask that you go back and answer the questions I presented you, thanks.

The Bible teaches that the dead are not aware of anything. Those who go around teaching that the soul is immortal,, that there is a Paradise where the dead go and wait,,, are teaching from the handbook of Satan.
Here we have those dead in Christ COMING with Him:

1Th 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

Yet, this is satanic? If He is to bring them with Him, then were are they now? If death is the sentencing handed down from the Law, then what of those who are under grace? Did Jesus not bring Life?

If those in Christ are to spiritually know death, then Scripture lies when it tells us that Jesus paid the ransom to deliver those of His from that penalty. Would it not be more satanic to say that He did not pay that penalty?

The false teaching that the soul is immortal will go hand in hand with the false teaching that Sunday is the day we should observe as Sabbath.
Whatever day you observe, do so unto the Lord. If a person hold another day above another, he does so unto the Lord. If a person holds all days the same, he does so unto the Lord. Here is the catch, the Lord of Sabbath is our sabbath and in Him we have our rest from our works. So, whatever day or the lack of a day one have decided on, he is to do it under a good conscience. And this is a true teaching.

These subjects are closely related. Those who beleive the dead are alive,, will soon recieve communications from the dead. Only the messages won't be coming from dead people. The messages will be coming from Demons who masquerade as dead loved ones.

The only Safeguard, is to know the dead know nothing.

Those who believe the dead are alive, have no Safeguard against the deceptions of Satan. They disarmed themselves when they chose to believe the dead are alive.

God says: "the soul that sinneth shall die."
To die is to enter the abode of the dead, namely Hades. Death is the separation from God.
Yet, we understand that the soul which is justified by the blood of Christ shall live. But, if we say that even these souls shall die, then the ransom was never paid and we remain under the Law. God forbid!! Are we not alive in Christ?

Satan says "ye shall not surely die."
But, God says, "the souls who sins shall die." If one desires an eternal separation from God, then Hades (the abode of the dead (death = separation from God)) shall be his abode.

P.S. Michael,
there are two deaths that a human can experience: physical and spiritual.

Of the physical, it is said that their memory is soon forgotten.

Of the spiritual, it is said that death has an eternal consequence.

Let us, therefore, walk about in Christ, seeing that He has paid the ransom needed to deliver those in Him from the penalty of the Law.

The Law brings death, but Christ brings Life.

Neat theory, but the scriptures say the complete opposite.

Hmmm. You are too wise.

Does Scripture teach this:

The Law brings life. Christ brings death.

Jesus did not pay the ransom to deliver us from death.

There will not be an everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord handed down to those on His left.

Those who are asleep in Christ will not come with Him?

They who die in their sins will not die?

If Scripture says the complete opposite of what I stated, then are you not introducing a theory which states such contradictive things?
