So if we lock it down that way, we must also lock down the context below it the same way, right?

Revelation 2:22-23 (KJV)
[SUP]22 [/SUP]Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. [SUP]23 [/SUP]And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
so not many are saved are they with pornography so right there in one's face, hmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All I am sure are guilty or have been guilty, to what point? Harming their neighbor, wanting to come out of the addiction and are having a hell of a time with it?
Many I am sure, Been there done that, had to come to the end of the energy of my own flesh to leave it behind by trusting God, not self to move beyond that stupidity.
This is why I say, die to your own self daily as Paul did, in order to be alive to God, and not even think about sin anymore.
Because as a man thinks , a man's emotions will carry it out, no matter if it is right or wrong
[h=3]Galatians 6:8[/h]New King James Version (NKJV)

[SUP]8 [/SUP]For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.

By all means, but that's gonna ruffle the feathers of some who think God doesn't act like that to his NT church.
Well maybe good, because a man that
Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.

It does not say we, will be able to do it, rather that we will be filled, and this filling is none other than God who did it all for us if we will believe it.
[h=3]Colossians 1:22-23[/h]New King James Version (NKJV)

[SUP]22 [/SUP]in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight— [SUP]23 [/SUP]if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.

Well then if that's the case, I'd say there are more false teachers today than anything else.
- Think about it. Total new age doctrines of prosperity.
- They aren't prophesying that, they are preaching that....(really teaching it).
- This among many other false gospels being taught.
And this is why God's Kingdom is not of this earth, and why we are called to be born again in the Spirit of God so we can worship God in Spirit and truth at God's Tabernacle built in Heaven by God not man

  1. John 4:23
But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.
  2. John 4:24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

[h=3]Hebrews 8:1-2[/h]New King James Version (NKJV)

[h=3]The New Priestly Service[/h]8 Now this is the main point of the things we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, [SUP]2 [/SUP]a Minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle which the Lord erected, and not man.

I have a hard time wrapping my mind around someone walking into a church and the first thing that comes out of her mouth is that they are a prophet. I don't know anybody true or false but does that, do you?
no first they gain the trust of everyone else especially those higher up, and then bring in damnable heresies.

Lol. All I know is that the inspired Apostle, wrote this.

Now if it's not revealed right away, then all of the theorizing about hidden hard to trace plots does become validated.

On the other hand, if at some point the JS claims to be a prophetess/prophet, and that's part of THE characteristics of a JS, then it certainly takes someone who NEVER claims to be a prophet ever, off the perp list for being a JS.
Guarantee, JS Spirit is clever as the Devil, brings in a pure glass of water, and at some point when think it safe will drop one drop of ink into it, and us being all excited over this amazing person, will not even notice that glass has been tainted.
King of like being sat down in front of a light that has a dimmer switch attached to it in the other room. Now after awhile of doing nothing else except staring at this light, say a about three hours. Will you have noticed the light dimming if it were dimmed by someone else so slow in the other room. This is exactly what has happened over the years, the devil has taken up residence in many if not all worldly Churches here on earth, has tainted some worse than others, yet the enemy can't taint heaven at all where the true tabernacle is at
Hebrews 8 and in verse 4
Hebrews 8:4 For if He were on earth, He would not be a priest, since there are priests who offer the gifts according to the law;

This also brings up a new question. Since you want to state this as a mirror for the whole church, then it must be for the whole church, whether a particular denomination believes in them or not. In other words, they are still there, whether they make their claim or not, working in the background. If this were not so, this would make those denominations totally impervious to the Jezebel spirit. God is no respecter of persons. Whatever He will allow, He will allow for everybody.
God has allowed free choice or this would all already be over and out. But God who is not forceful is not a liar, has had Mercy to this day for the whole world, especially shown by Christ at the cross, what all the Old Testament Saints were looking forward to

There in fact may be people in the background in places, carrying out murky, shadowy, devious, nefarious, hard to trace schemes. But if these people would NEVER EVER consider declaring themselves a prophet/prophetess, then you can't pin the Jezebel label on them, seeing they don't fit the template God gives us of how they work in the church based on Revelation 2. For these hidden, hard to find, scheming, people who don't fit the JS template, I'd suggest trying to find a new title for them. Cuz they more than likely do exist, it's just that they don't fit the JS template.
and is why I brought up the flesh, self Spirit that we by born again are dead to, and alive to God and God living in us tells us, but not to accuse to be aware

Jackson shows in considerable detail how the Jezebel spirit imposes its will on other people, effectively making them pawns to achieve their ends. As we have seen, this is closely akin to witchcraft. This by no means indicates that the individual concerned is a witch in the traditional sense of that word – although Jackson does illustrate the extreme example of a pastor who caught a self-centred woman (a highly committed prayer leader) sticking pins into a doll dressed like the pastor’s wife, all the time praying for the death of various other church leaders. Why was she doing this? Because she was convinced that she was the answer to the church’s need, So that her own cause could be advanced. These are the extremes to which the Jezebel spirit can lead people. Jackson spells out in detail why this Jezebel spirit needs to be confronted, and recommends strongly that this should be done by pastors rather than prophets. Jackson warns that it is almost invariably extremely difficult to pin Jezebel down. For a start they rarely admit to any errors except perhaps minor ones which give the appearance of humility and act as smoke screens. They are also likely to deny fervently that they have said certain things that have been overheard but not necessarily witnessed by others. They are adept at providing ‘alternative’ explanations in their desperate attempt to justify the inexcusable. When Jezebel launches a full blown challenge against a pastor, the effect can be so abrasive and upsetting that it makes them run a long way away, to pastor a church on the other side of the country or even beyond. Jackson’s experience is that even there the inner tormenting that comes with being pursued by a Jezebel spirit will continue, until the Ahab weakness in them is acknowledged, repented of, and healed.

I had trouble with the prayer leader being a Christian, considering what she did. I do agree wholeheartedly with the last few lines though. Those people who are easily manipulated needs to acknowledge their weaknesses....... otherwise, it will happen in the next church as well.

Here's the latest template:

JS claims a prophetic office & exercises the false prophet's position. This office of prophet is determined by what we previously read in the Bible dictionaries.
JS does teach false doctrine
JS leads the church astray into spiritual whoredom
JS has to have an "Ahab" to have authority and dominion, which means someone in a leadership role to use them.

If they meet 87% of the qualifications of this template, what would you suggest calling them?

All too often, the result is that Jezebel emerges from confrontations relatively unscathed, while the pastor is left severely embarrassed, looking as though he has been guilty of launching unfounded accusations against one who is whiter than white. Someone with a Jezebel spirit will seek to gain sympathy from many people especially when confronted. The individual will claim that he or she has been spiritual abused and if the pastor responds at all defensively, or with any apparent sign of vigour, this merely reinforces their contention that they are being spiritually abused.

All this, of course, can leave the pastor critically exposed. The pastor was not wrong to attempt to deal with the situation; it simply reflects the fact that the degree of deception at work in the situation may have been greater than had been anticipated. Jackson reminds us that we are not dealing just with a person here, but with dark powers. If pastors are insufficiently alert to the deceptions at work in these situations, they are in danger of coming under the same spirit themselves. At this point the demonic spirit grows stronger, and begins to exercise an increasing measure of control over a Church.

I believe not just a church, but any Christian organization or ministry is at risk.

The Holy Spirit tends to rid them.
An assembly needs to be imbalanced to even let one roost.
Dividing bone from marrow? - The Comforter knows how to do that.
People in ministry tend to be kindly.
So it can happen. - Just as rats can take over a barn.

More like termites. They work in darkness being blind to the Light.

How would you know?
Seeing as you say all gifts are over?
Are you judging another again?
You like to make a habit of that.

Yeah back in my days when I attended a church that claimed God was speaking through tongues and prophets and all that, we had a lady who fit that description.

She claimed to have words from God, and she'd lay hands on people, and they'd fall over, and well you know the game.

She had two very attractive twin daughters, and she had a swimming pool.
She sexualized her twin daughters to young men in the church.
Talked about inviting the guys over so they could see her daughters in their swim suits.

Yes, I did. I attended a Foursquare denomination church. I stayed there for about two years. The church was thriving but the economic downturn had left some debt to pile up. I was chatting online with a good friend who suddenly my friend said "Let's pray God wants to expose some sin at your church. We prayed and two weeks later the church got hit by a bombshell.

The youth pastor was just about to take over and become the Senior pastor of the church. He was a great speaker and very popular. Two weeks after we prayed for God to expose sin, He told the Friday night service, and both Sunday services, That he had an affair with two women in the church. Then the worship leader stood up and confessed she had an affair with this man. Most were shocked and hurt. Many adults and youth cried over this. The other woman remained anonymous as she was married.

A month later, God told me to leave that church. A new pastor took over. His sermons were bad and boring. He told the Elders he wanted to hire his friend to be his personal assistant. The elders voted no, but he said he had already hired him and he told them he was no longer going to listen to whatever they said. Several elders resigned over this. From then on, if you wanted to see the pastor, you had to go thru his personal assistant who would decide if you could see him and when.

Soon, he canceled the men's ministry. It was run by volunteers and was very popular with the men. Then he fired the church counselor. She was a licensed marriage and family counselor who counseled people there full time and charged people on a sliding scale. So she was not hurting the budget. This man managed to get rid of most of the godly men and women lay-leaders in the church and almost all of them went to different churches.

Due to his poor sermons, people started to leave and with them, the money they would've given to the church. The church eventually declared bankruptcy and has closed it's doors, one year after he became sr. Pastor. The pastor was controlling, manipulative, condescending and acted like he was above all others. I can give you more detail the next time I see my sister. She was well connected to that church and now attends a church in another city. My sister believes this man has a jezebel spirit.

1. JS WILL by all means claim to be a prophet or prophetess. They won't simply be a teacher, preacher, declarer of the things of God we can label as a "prophet" by blurring lines. JS will distinctly claim to be a prophetess/prophet just like the one John points out in Rev 2:20.
So if someone claims to be a prophet or prophetess, and that person is a human being and is not a disembodied 'spirit' floating around, how can that person be a 'Jezebel spirit'?

Where is the 'Jezebel spirit' in Revelation 2. I read about 'that woman Jezebel' and not 'the Jezebel spirit'?

By your definition, Jezebel in the Old Testament would not have been a 'Jezebel spirit' either. But her spirit was the real original 'Jezebel spirit'. When she died, her spirit left her body, and the dogs ate her remains.
