This morning I was thinking about different occasions where "faith," is mentioned throughout the bible and thought I'd share some of those passages here. There are so many examples of how the OT carries through into the NT. God's word is just wonderful.
A few instances of GREAT faith that come to mind, Moses showed great faith when he trusted God (even though he was afraid at first,) and went to Pharaoh with his brother Aaron to speak the words that God gave him to speak. (Exodus ch. 3)
Abram showed great faith when God told him to leave his home country. (Genesis 12:1-20)
And the blessing that God blessed Abraham with:
Genesis 26:4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;
Genesis 26:5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.
Hebrews ch. 11 goes into more about Abraham's faith.
Hebrews ch. 3-4 go into the lack of faith that was exhibited by the people in the wilderness as they were being led into the promised land.
Hebrews 3:14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
Hebrews 3:15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.
Hebrews 3:16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.
Hebrews 3:17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?
Hebrews 3:18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?
Hebrews 3:19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

Numbers 13:28 Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there.
Numbers 13:29 The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan.

I think we may be looking at it all wrong... the Bible is not 2 separate books, it is one continuing story of God putting things right,,,, There has always been one people of God, yes he may have dealt with them in different ways... the law holding his people until Jesus came...but there is no break.. it is all God acting in History.
The difference is the covenant in which God deals with his people the old (law) and new.

I found this comparison very wonderful, and wanted to dig further into it, part by part.
Here's some of what I found in the very first part of the Lord's prayers, and the 23 Psalm.
Psalm 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
John 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
(Our FATHER who are in Heaven, Hallowed be YOUR NAME!)
Even in the blessings that Jacob blessed Joseph with we see this:
Genesis 49:24 But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel)
Psalms 80:1 Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth.
Psalms 80:2 Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up thy strength, and come and save us.

For any people wanting to argue, and ask questions that instigate arguing, I would suggest that another thread be used for that. Even though it appears that arguing is more entertaining; I sincerely believe that God would prefer that His children agree instead. So I leave you all with this verse;

The old testament was His training manual. Ours too. Plus we get the new testament too.
And He probably had some other books we don't need, but He did.

As I was putting this together, I was thinking that if we neglect the Old Testament, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, would not be fulfilling anything previously written according to our acceptance of the entire Word of God. To reject the Old Testament as past, because of the New Testament is a grave mistake.

Not necessarily. He fulfilled prophecy in many cases because he knew human nature. He also knows us in every detail.

The Four Gospels are NT. They were written by NT believers and not OT people. The OT was written
by servants of God. The NT was written by children of God. The OT writers had righteouness accounted
