First, not sure where you work, but they way people are taunting you about your sex life is definitely harassment. Is there an HR department, a manager who knows anything about this? This is part of their job, to protect employees from this sort of thing. You shouldn't have to deal with that, period. There is nothing wrong with you. You are just surrounded by bullies. How sad it is to be them.

About being single; I read somewhere recently that it's not that God wants us to be lonely, it's that He wants us to spend time with him. I felt that was a powerful statement.
I hesitate saying anything to the HR department for a number of reasons. I get my kicks from giving people a hard time, so I expect people to give me a hard time in return. That's why I said sometimes I can just laugh it off with them. Second, they're not christians, they don't know any better. Probably the biggest thing though is I have worked other places where particular christians are constantly making complaints that, given, are justified, but they quickly become the most hated person in the work place. Not because of their beliefs, but because people feel restricted because they feel like they can't do anything around them without getting in trouble. All respect for the believer is dead, and the believers witness dies along with it.

I can choose to make a complaint and get people ticked off and act like a martyr because people hate me, but being a witness that people can have a level of respect for, and be open to is far more important than pushing them away.

I can understand your point of view here, people will make such comments, i rarely find anyone around who doesn't. I take it as the word of God says, the world wud nt understand me as it did not understand Jesus. I did not respond negatively, or went to preach them immediately, but i did not approve them either. I would just hear and give a blank or ignored response, which makes the other clear, that I am not the one in for such conversations. They may discuss things behind my back, which is fine, but God gave me the patience, and today lot of people who know me, know that I dont discuss things like they do and dont consider me a gay...This came definitely after i kept the matter in God's hands. I request your prayer still coz I know I am weak and evil is around strong but God's grace is sufficient :)

Zoa, hang in there! Things will get better and it could be worse! God chastises those who He loves, believe me that is something good to remember when the darkness tries to come and drag you down into it. It sounds like your trying to live and desire a better way, your pressing against God and He's pressing back. If this wasn't the case then I'd be worried and have to call the guys in the white coats with the straight jacket! Put up your sails and let God's wind blow you where it will! Your blessed to be in the place where you are.

Your sexual life is none of their business. I think you need to stand up for yourself and tell them to shup up and mind their own business -> in a nice way. I don't think its funny to make comments like that -> that might hurt some people (in this case-you). Most of the people should think before they open their mouth-and it doesn't matter are they ch or not. I can't stand that people think they can make fun of everything and everyone. Yes, there are some things that you can laugh about - but c'mon -> some people just cross the line. Don't let them do that!
Yes, I agree with err, but............

This can be a situation where persecution meets Love, the Lord is working on your heart, zaoofmen, and, He is having a calming effect on you and a protective effect and a powerful effect, has been, for a long time now. This is good to see, for you from Him. God is good, He will get us through situations that seem unyielding in insult and demeaning remarks, and, the way through to blessing is to keep being you, as you said, what was not of your personality, that's good, but, just keep giving that to God and realizing that He is in you and gives you all strength and that in our weakness He makes US strong :)

You certainly aren't alone and as others have said, it is admirable that you have held onto what you believe even when feeling weak and lonely.

People of the world see that you are different. They tease and pick on you because you are open with them and as you said, share in picking on them. I would just say be strong, ask the Lord daily to go before you and bless the day. To open and close doors. You are a witness, whether good or bad that is up to each person.

I found that in college I had this person who constantly said things like your fellow employees. I truly had a difficult time with this, but when I made a comment that was out of the norm for me, she picked up on it and said something to the effect of "hey you aren't suppose to think that way". It was then that I realized even though she was constantly on me about my lifestyle, she knew what I believed and was watching to see if I would stick with it regardless of the pressures.

So just keep in mind that you are in fact that light in a dark world. The Lord even warns us that it won't be easy and the world won't like us. Be encouraged, those you work with most likely feel convicted, or just simply don't know any different. :)

Keep being the different one :) I pray God blesses you as you walk in His light.

For those of you who gave your support thank you very much, I do really appreciate it. I think some of you might have misunderstood that I was getting offended or insulted, and I wasn't. More weak and tempted than anything else.

For those of you who have been praying, I greatly appreciate it. Just to give you all an update, through circumstances that very well could be the product of prayer, it looks very likely I'll be moved to a different work area soon for something completely unrelated, so I'm looking forward to it :)
