I have heard many different theories about this question. My previous Pastor does not believe God has a particular person for you to marry and then I hear other people's testimonies where they knew she or he was the one God wanted him or her to marry. I have also had a prophecy about my future husband. I personally believe if God has a will for my life wouldn't he have someone for me, my Adam so to speak? Would love to hear what other people think or have experienced regarding this question.
I believe that God brings people into and out of our lives at times as we have need. They are there to help us learn and grow, emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually. Not one person can be all things to all people. Out of all of those people your life touches, you may come across someone that you are to marry.
For myself, I have dated women who swore that I was the one they prayed for. They said that I had the traits they wanted in a husband. Wether or not that was true, even though God has answered their prayers, THEY had not prepared themselves to be in the relationship they claimed they wanted. You can't pray for a man to take you around the world if you don't have a passport and your bags packed!
I have learned to cherish each person that comes into my life and the time we spend together. I can see how I became a better person for it and only hope that I was able to add to their lives too.
Okay, JoyofLord, you got my curiosity up. What was in your prophecy about your future husband? If, of course, you don't mind. Mostly I would like to see if I have had a similar one and missed my own.
