Yeah, I agree to a point. Perhaps it hasn't reached its sin thresh-hold at present. I agree with what Zone says as to the identity of Babylon, but I also feel that she (i.e. Babylon) hasn't received fully her come-uppance. Like, she certainly isn't burning forever at the moment. Perhaps in the next 10, 20 or 50 years, as this city becomes more powerful, and I believe it will (another thread talks about the pope moving there or something - not sure what to make of that exactly), and as she starts to move her oppression against Christians from financial, to physical, then to death (perhaps with the Noahide laws popping up all over?), the people who survive and flourish will become more anti-Christ, greedy, hateful of Christians etc. So at the point God finishes His judgement of her, all Christians will say "Yes, your justice is good, Lord", and all the non-Christians will be mourning.

These are only thoughts, obviously - I like to hear others' biblically-based insight.

Luke 21:22
The Destruction of Jerusalem
21"Then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains, and those who are in the midst of the city must leave, and those who are in the country must not enter the city; 22because these are days of vengeance, so that all things which are written will be fulfilled. 23"Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days; for there will be great distress upon the land and wrath to this people < APOSTATE ISRAEL.

it's over for Jerusalem.

the Gospel now...nothing more or less.
jew, gentile - no difference.

you were trying to derail your humiliation by creating a diversion.
LOL rachel....my 'humiliation'?
i'm afraid you'll have to do a reassessment of the impact you have on me.
it's actually pretty much zero.

i had some respect for you at one time.
now, none.

i'll be pretty much ignoring what you post...unless it's worth debunking.

Oh, the dilemma of trying to impart knowledge to those embracing folly. Proverbs 26:4-5Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.[SUP]5 [/SUP]Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.

Mystery
Come out of her, my people,
lest you share in her sins,
and lest you receive of her plagues.

Earthly
Then let those in Judea flee to the mountains,
let those who are in the midst of her depart,
and let not those who are in the country enter her.
For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

Mystery Babylon
Revelation 18:23
"And the light of a lamp shall not shine in you anymore. And the voice of bridegroom and bride shall not be heard in you anymore.

Earthly Jerusalem
Jeremiah 7:34
"Then I will cause to cease from the cities of Judah and from the streets of Jerusalem the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride. For the land shall be desolate."

.....

Mystery Babylon
Revelation 18:20
"Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you holy apostles and prophets, for God has avenged you on her!"

Revelation 18:24
"And in her was found the blood of prophets and saints, and of all who were slain on the earth."

Revelation 19:2
and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her.

Earthly Jerusalem
Luke 13:33
"Nevertheless I must journey today, tomorrow, and the day following; for it cannot be that a prophet should suffer outside of Jerusalem."

Matthew 23:34-38
"Therefore, indeed, I send you prophets, wise men, and scribes: some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will scourge in your synagogues and persecute from city to city, "that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah, son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the alter. Assuredly, I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation. O (earthly) Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! See! Your house is left to you desolate."

......

Mystery Babylon
Revelation 17:16-17
"And the ten horns which you saw on the beast, these will hate the harlot, make her desolate and naked, eat her flesh and burn her with fire. For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled.

Revelation 18:8
"Therefore her plagues will come in one day-- death and mourning and famine. And she will be utterly burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who judges her."

Revelation 18:19
Alas, alas, that great city, in which all who had ships on the sea became rich by her wealth! For in one hour she is made desolate.

Revelation 18:4
And I heard another voice from heaven saying, "Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues."

Earthly Jerusalem
Luke 19:42-44
"If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. For the days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, surround you and close you in on every side, and level you, and your children within you, to the ground; and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not know the time of your visitation."

Luke 21:20-23
"But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near. Then let those in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who are in the country enter her. For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath upon this people."

Luke 21:31-33
"So you, likewise, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near. Assuredly, I say to you this generation will by no means pass away till all things are fulfilled. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away."

Matthew 24:15-25
"So when you see standing in the holy place 'the abomination that causes desolation,'spoken of through the prophet Daniel--let the reader understand-- then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let no one on the roof of his house go down to take anything out of the house. Let no one in the field go back to get his cloak. For then there will be great tribulation, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now--and never to be equaled again. See, I have told you ahead of time.

Yes it is Jerusalem. The same holy city and sanctuary spoken of by Daniel at the end of his 70th week prophecy in Daniel 9:26...and the people of the prince (Titus), who is to come.....shall destroy the city (Jerusalem)..and the sanctuary (Temple)..the end of it shall be with a flood (or it's destruction shall be as a flood...completely obsolete.) At the heart of all of this were the unfaithful of Old Covenant Israel who played the great Harlot, and God had her put away, or Stoned to death if you will.
this is clearly what the Bible says.
yet people openly deny it, and scoff.

years of indoctrination.

So that would mean the two witnesses already came, were slain, resurrected and were taken up to Heaven? Do you believe they were the law and the prophets, or others, or they haven't come yet?

Thanks. Does this doctrine have a name, so I can read more about it? Or where can I find out more so you don't get sick of all my questions whenever I think of one?

:D I have an insider when it comes to interpreting prophetic covenant scripture ;)

I have two images in my head as to how I will answer God when He says "why did you say or do those things?"

1st "all of the top scholars believed this."
Or 2 " I prayed to you Lord and trusted what You put in my heart."

I'll take choice 2 :D
Again that's fine with me, because everyone can say that if they want to!
What God puts in your heart is one thing,
understanding the fulfillment of biblical prophecies is on a whole nother level!

You seem like a really smart person, but then again there are a lot of really smart people in this Room.
Actually almost all of the smartest people in the world,
have tried and failed to interpret the book of Revelation.
It's actually rather comical if you ask me!
Don't you agree?
So, let me ask you a question? Why was the last book of the New Testament, written in the symbolic prophetic style of the Ancient Prophets of Israel? Would not the people of Jerusalem, who were steeped in this culture for the last 4000 yrs, have understood this language, as they were dying and witnessing to their own people and families, of the Messiah and the Israel of Old? Or would it have been written to the rest of the world who hasn't figured it out now for 2000 yrs? The Ancient Prophets of Old Covenant Israel did not ever write prophecies to try to full people, it was to warn them of their sins and the wrath of God; and to remind them of their covenant with God. Old Covenant Israel didn't need God to full them, like the Church today they fool themselves: (the Jews) were fixing to be slaughtered like pigs, in Jerusalem, because God no longer considered them as His chosen people; does this not give you pause, to consider this in your studies? That Babylon the Great Whore was God's wife that was being put to death? That is the Holy City of Jerusalem and all the trappings of the covenant people, that it represented. Anyway that's the best I have for you my friend!

First ProphetExcalibur, I am very happy to be conversing with you brother :) just wanted to throw that out there. I understand your point of view, I do. As to why the book was written in the prophetic style of ancient prophets is simple to me, I was actually about to bring that up as a reason why I believe it is much more than just an end of an age. These prophecies stretched from far before the NT, we see them in Ezekiel, Isaiah, Joel and many more. I know you believe that "the Last generation, and last days" signifies the last days of the Jews in homeland Israel, but there is just SO MUCH in all of these prophecies to suggest that everything was regarding a time that didn't actually signify "the end." I mean we have prophecies of the return of Christ, global destruction, Jesus reigning for a thousand years. We have Israel returning to the land of promise (1948) there is just soo SOOO much! for all of these country's to be actively getting involved that the bible foretold Syria, Egypt, Russia, China -on and on to be at a time with Israel at the epicenter of the whole world. Increase of diverse earthquakes, (you know where I am going with that.) this just goes on and on and on. Its simply WAY too much. Again this isn't just Revelations, there are several books throughout the bible talking about the same cataclysmic event. Much love brother :)

and for the record, I think they wrote it that way so we "the last generation" could connect the dots.

now let me ask you a question ProphetExcalibur. Looking at the world today. With its obvious regression back to the days of ancient Rome, sodom and gomorrah. Sins are running rampant on a global scale increased by technology and acceptance like never before. Why would anyone think God left all this out? This planet is being killed by us, we are about to kill ourselves and all while diving into the deepest spiritual darkness the world has ever seen. At least on the largest scale. Add that to the weather patterns, the signs, the return of Israel.. I don't have the patience to type it all out. I'm actually certain it is far more information than I currently retain. However I am certain almost everyone here, if not everyone knows exactly what I am talking about.

Try "End times according to the Bible", link is in my signature below. I don't necessarily agree with everything he says or teaches, but for the most part I think he's spot on.

i have never 'denied where christ was crucified'...but -you- do...

scripture clearly states that christ was crucified outside the city gate of jerusalem...near the city...and -not- in jerusalem...

and showing that the jews sought to kill jesus and eventually did hand him over to be executed does -not- change the fact that jesus was crucified outside jerusalem...

i don't think the new testament is antisemitic...but your gutter doctrine has nothing to do with the new testament...
Acts 10
[SUP]39 [/SUP]And we are witnesses of all things which He did both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem, whom theykilled by hanging on a tree. [NKJV]

[SUP]39 [/SUP]We ·saw [witnessed] what Jesus did in [[SUP] [/SUP]the region/country of] Judea and in Jerusalem, but the Jews in Jerusalem [[SUP] [/SUP]they] killed him by hanging him on a ·cross [[SUP]L[/SUP]tree]. [Expanded Version]

[SUP]39 [/SUP]And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree: [KJV]

Why even mention Jerusalem, because Luke is making a point of what the Jew did to Christ in Jerusalem, just because it wasn't within the city walls doesn't make it not Jerusalem.

John says he was crucified in Golgotha, see:

John 19:17-18, And He, bearing His cross, went out to a place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in the Hebrew, Golgotha, where they crucified Him, and two others with Him, one on either side, and Jesus in the center.

The above verses are not so clear as these.

That is exactly the problem, thank you! You are trying to interpret this Prophetic Text in the Scriptures, concerning Mystery Babylon the Great Whore (as well as the rest of Prophetic Texts) by looking around the world today, and saying; LOOK isn't this all the fulfilling of Scripture? O My God! I'm going to go jump off a cliff! Who put this garbage in your heads? All the modern day false prophets; Hal Lindsey for one, has for 30 plus years, spewed this stuff out of his mouth, when are people like you going to say enough is enough. I know that he is not the latest and greatest of these evil men, but your 30 yrs old and he has been doing this before you were born; so I get it!!!! I get it!!! You've been saturated with this filth. I heard this crap 50 yrs ago by the fear-mongers in the church of that day. Not all prophecy has been fulfilled,....the glory of the Lord will fill the earth as the water covereth the sea.... etc...... and there is a strand in Revelation that leads through today. But you must interpret Scripture with Scripture, in the contexts of the Covenant, of God and His people. Because it will never matter what the future holds in the 21st Century, if you misinterpret this; that is, what it meant to whom it was written to and why! Most of the horrible things in the book of Revelation was still in these people's foreseeable future, in 50 and 60 ad. I'll talk to you later, I've got to go find that cliff!
