I'm just sitting here like...Such an idea may at first seem strange. But before the question is dismissed, it would be wise to consider the following:1 Corinthians 11:1-15
11 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God.
[SUP]13 [/SUP]Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?
[SUP]14 [/SUP]Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?
[SUP]15 [/SUP]But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.
so what do you guys think?

For the most part, we like discussing his commandments. This, however, is inferred from a statement from Paul and APPLIED as a commandment (which it isn't). Remember, applications are personal."For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous." (1 John 5:3, KJV).
Also I thought this was a bible discussion forum.
Maybe I should start a thread telling people that we are saved by grace and nothing else matters.
we can be drunkards, idolators, fornicators, liars, theives, murderers at heart, adulterers at heart but at the end of the day we will be saved by grace.Maybe that's what some of you want to hear.
some of you guys make it sound like if we discuss Jesus commands then we are automatically legalists.
wow,i thought professing Christians loved to discuss the word of God.
or maybe im hitting a nerve unintentionally in some of you.
I really just thought this would be an interesting thread because we don't see too many threads on hair and I was wondering if anybody actually knew that God uses our hair as part of distinguishing who we are and levels of authority.
My bad.

I thought you were in on the joke but I'm scared that you might be serious.

how is sticking to the word of God legalism? are you perhaps offended by the scriptures, is that it? do not be conformed of this world.I'm just sitting here like...

like my hair is maybe a quarter of an inch on the sides but almost 6 inches on top...can i have both short and long hair?
p_rehbein that makes a lot of sense brother.
I guess that would coincide with what paul says about everything being lawful but not everything being expedient.
I guess I must be a fanatic then.
I definitely am a Jesus freak and with the times we are living in I am trying to stick as close to scripture as Gods grace will allow me and I would that others do the same.
This can rub people the wrong way at times though but trust me its coming from a good place.
plus all this is worthless without a converted heart
On the contrary, I spend a great deal of time learning how to properly interpret scripture without tainting it with my own preferences. I love the Lord, tithe, attend church, give clothes and food to the poor, shelter the homeless, train up my son, and many other direct commandments that are found in scripture. I have not yet had the opportunity to visit people in prison, but I am open to however the Lord directs me. If I am rebuked by scripture, I prayerfully consider it and yield my will to God.how is sticking to the word of God legalism? are you perhaps offended by the scriptures, is that it? do not be conformed of this world.
