Seeings that you are the only one that heard that voice I would say you need to also see a psychologist and listen to that voice. Apparently you don't understand the purpose of a Christmas tree. It's all about Christ and His love. Make sure you throw away all your mirrors too and the list goes on.

I do not either and have not had a tree in my home for many a year now. As a matter of fact Christ was not born on Dec. 25th and tat date was and is a Pagan holiday, is called Winter Solstice, and it was transformed into Christmas, covering over the Pagan holiday. This was done in Constantine's time, when /the Pagan priests began to say they believed in the Christ, when they lied about it, to bring in the people to worship and pay them homage and another tradition was born and man fell for it like a sheep going to slaughter as man does so many times.
And Easter is another Pagan Holiday transformed as Celebrating the resurrection, when it is all about a Goddess. anyway, it is the as what lies do, they cover up truth, and deceive the people.

[SUP] In my reading of the scriptures I thought the following verses seemed as if they described the christmas tree. It's been a while since I looked up all the pagan worship of a decorated tree but that pretty much what I think it is, a pagan influence.[/SUP]
[SUP]Jeremiah 10[/SUP]
[SUP]1[/SUP] Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
[SUP]2[/SUP] Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
[SUP]3[/SUP] For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
[SUP]4[/SUP] They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
[SUP]5[/SUP] They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.

I stopped doing christmas about 8 years ago. Aside from the origins and the wrong date, its not Biblical to celebrate it, and we're never told to.

But I imagine this will be a conversation that will be in full force about a month from now.:D

It is that time of year again. Unless it is worshipped, a Christmas tree is no different than putting out a bouquet of flowers to gussy up your living room. I do not practice either, but it sure is not a reason to think someone is going to go to hell and burn for eternity.

We always have a Christmas tree, mainly because I immensely enjoy going out to the woods and slaughtering an innocent helpless pine tree so I can stand it up in my living room like a big fragrant trophy. Plus it's a great way to utilize the crates of decorations my wife has.

Luke 18
[SUP]9 [/SUP]And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:

[SUP]10 [/SUP]Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.

[SUP]12 [/SUP]I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
[SUP]13 [/SUP]And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

[SUP]14 [/SUP]I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Glad you caught that. I sense a little self righteousness in that individual.

Funny you should mention that. The origin of a flower bouquet(that I am sure almost EVERYONE has had in their home) was brought over by Japan by Buddhist monks where certain flowers are considered sacred..... That ain't Christian either.

Do you look down on others who participate in these practices? Do you feel you're a more righteous person because you don't have a Christmas tree?

You are not going to get anyone to not like the flowers our Father made for all............but then, I know you are not trying to do that.

That is interesting, but is it really true? Flowers have always been used to decorate for occasions and festivities. Did it come from Japan via Europe? What century¿ Just curious.........

Mark 7:9, "Then He said to them : How well you reject the Law of Yahweh , so that you may keep your own tradition !"

None have an excuse for transgressing against Yahweh, especially when they claim to follow the Messiah. To me and this is Scriptual also, saying that thes things dont apply to "me" is even worse than simply messing up...

In Yeremyah 10:2, we are told, "This is what Yahweh says: a Do not learn the way of the heathen..."

So I woudnt say I llok "down" on those who transgress these things, because I am not without error myself, but I can say these pagan practices are not ok for people who claim to follow the Messiah to do...

And no that is not judgement, saying homosexuality is wrong is not judgement, it is calling a sin a sin...

John 7:24
"Stop judging by mere appearances, and make a right judgment"

Romans 14:5-6
5 One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind.6 Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord. Whoever eats meat does so to the Lord, for they give thanks to God
