Another CC member sent me the following in a private message. I deleted the writer’s name and edited it at bit to hide the writer’s identity, but it's oh so true and hilarious!

“That part is not funny. What follows is the funny part . . .

“The first poster writes: ‘God told me that He will be coming to get His elect BEFORE the 7 year tribulation (or whatever). I know this is true because God spoke to me!’

“Then the second guy says ..... 'Oh no, no, no!!! God spoke to me and said He will take us to Heaven during the middle of the tribulation!!!'

“Then this third guy says, 'You both got it wrong. I know because God has spoken directly to me and it's quite clear, Jesus returns AFTER the tribulation and then there is going to be a millennium!'

“Another CC member come on the string and pontifically declares: 'I am the one who actually talked to God and this is what is really going to happen. There is no tribulation, 7 years or otherwise, and when Jesus returns, there will be a thousand years of peace for everybody, including the Muslims!!!! Now, I know this is true because I have several witnesses: Jesus, as well as God who told me. In addition, three angels came to me and confirmed it, so I’m right!'”

All these folks getting a different story from God, really? . . . It’s enough to make you swimmy-headed.

i wouldn't be putting words in Gods mouth, saying God told me this or that, if He didn't. Some people just do this thinking that if they say God told them then its legit, and people might get afraid, and listen. Just another scare tactic.

Whereas people can receive messages from God as Moses and Paul did, I have an issue with the message that these people claim to be receiving. When speaking of the return of the Son of Man, the book of Matthew states that not even angels shall know the day or the hour, so how can a human know?

36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Jesus always has use references from the the scriptures from the prophets about Him. The prophets had prophesied about the people during the time of Jesus, and which they were the prophecies from the prophets. I know some people spread false testimonies of prophecies around, but to find out which one is true, we have to wait later to find that out. what been kept in the dark will soon come to the light.

Matthew 4:4Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

Matthew 8:17This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: “He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases.”

I'm a new member. I didn't know that this site had so many prophets that God speaks audibly to. He must be incredibly cruel to tell each person something completely opposite.


So which person is THE prophet? - LOL.

God told me that anyone who begins their comment with "God told me" is not of........uh, er, wait, lemme go back and start again.......sigh.....

I was sitting near a bush, and suddenly that bush burst into flames, and a great voice as if it were the voice of God said:

There will always be a major difference between "God told me" and "I feel led by the Spirit". The problem with using the former is that whatever you say immediately becomes equated as important as scripture.
You can always tell a false internet prophet when they begin to justify themselves. (Seen a lot of that lately around here...)

But if they contradict each other, I would like to see who could back up with signs and wonders. So far I've seen none who could. That's pathetic, 'cause it only shows they are worse than false prophets.

I hear from God all the time! Pretty much every time I sit down and open up my Bible!

Sometimes God will give me a personal message, too. Maybe a nudge to repent of a sin, or an encouragement that he is always there. But to find good doctrine, you have to go and search the Scriptures. All of them, in context!!

"Thus saith the Lord" is so abused today in some circles. If it comes from the Bible, I believe it, but if it comes from the mouth of someone, time to test, test and test! Esp. on doctrinal issues.

And why is eschatology the one doctrine, which people are so absolutely certain about?? Better to have a strong "Thus saith the Lord" about soteriology! Like:

"because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. [SUP]10 [/SUP]For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Romans 10:9-10

Yes, and there is the crux of Thereapon's point. Everyone is getting different messages. Note, also, that Paul seems to have gotten a different message from Christ/God than it seems the disciples got from Jesus, who according to Paul misunderstood the original message.

I hear God speak to me all the time, in many ways including voice. But he never gives me a so called word or prophesy such as God told me to say blah blah blah... and when it come to subjects such as the arguments of the tribulation, rapture and such the most he will do is give me a dream or occasional vision. I get very suspicious of people who claim to have received a so called word from God, not saying people don't but many false prophets do this for attention. I have not seen this on cc though, have I not been paying attention?

As i have posted many times,Protestantism gave order that anyone can interprete Bible as he wan't.Now,the time of harvest of fruits of your degenerated doctrine came.

This confusion would be avoided, if people read the Bible every day. That is where we get the answers to God's word, & praying to God for help to understand. study study study. There's no short cuts in life. I believe there are many examples, that God expects us to earn the truth. He wants us to want it, and ask, but then you have to show we are serious by our actions because actions really tell you the intent of some one. If they care enough about God, they will study His words He sent us to read. If not, then confusion is the only other option.
