I used to really hate African accents
Then I saw some African movies - Blood Diamond, Power of One, Nowhere in Africa, and I just can't get enough of Afrikaans accents now.
You know what, I reckon even Australia has a few different accents. To me, people in Adelaide sound a bit Kiwi, and people from Western Australia use alot of words that I've never even heard before.
NOOOOOO Adelaidians do NOT sound like Kiwi's lol.... I love kiwi's really, but I can't stand the accent! It is about the only one that I really find annoying (*hugs* to the kiwi's here, it's not you... it's your pronunciations!). Us Adeladians are more refined
(Think: Ca(h)stle, School (not Skewl), Da(h)nce) - when I was in England, they couldn't tell I was Aussie, they thought all Aussies sound like those on Home & Away and Neighbours lol, they told me I had a non-accent!! If you put me together with my cousin and our mother's side of the family (who are from England) we start to sound a little 'pommy'
I love Irish and Scottish accents too.. and French, Italian and Spanish - any that are melodic really!
