Jesus said. "My sheep hear my voice. I know them and they follow Me." (John 10:27) This means we should all hear God speak to us, but few ever do.

I have heard God speak to me, many times. Each time He says something to me it is amazing. If you have not heard God speak to you, start praying for it. Start repenting for every sin you can think of and ask God why you do not hear Him.

Jesus already told us the way to salvation! Matthew, Mark, Luke, John. Do you propose we deviate from what God already said is salvific? Right there in black and white?
Open your eyes wider than the world, if the way to salvation is clear and definite, why the various doctrines of salvation being sold by various denominations all over the globe considering that they do all emanate from the pages of the bible?

God will speak to us if we will come and call on to God, John 10 is a nice starting point in coming to Jesus today.

No! Quite the contrary. It is human will. People reading what they want to in the Bible rather than letting the Holy Spirit speak through the Bible and seeking to understand it as it was written. The division is wrought through will and a waxing and waning understanding.

QUOTE=alexis;1305307]OneJack,

By accepting Christ He will speak to you through The Holy Spirit was my point...

I hear His message of love loud and clear

I have no idea why other men sin, why churches argue and disagree, I have no idea if any others listen to the Holy Spirit
I have no clue about distruction and disagreance. I have never prayed to Jesus asking why churches disagree or any of this...

Simply I know Jesus and He fills me with love and guides my heart and speaks to me through The Holy Spirit
love is the main thing He tells me, to love you all to love everyone.
so, I still say yes God speaks to you if you listen.

Perhaps these disagreeing many do not listen I don't know you would have to ask them.

You make good points and I mean this only to clarify how God speaks to me.
love you and God bless,
lexi
If you don't mind sharing with us how the HS is talking to you, kindly tell us when was the first time the HS talk to you and in what way did the HS did talk to you? How did you know from the start that it was the HS who was talking to you?[/QUOTE]

I don't mind at all...

Quick background... I was born and raised in a tiny fishing village in southeast Alaska. Grew up knowing little of religion and never was taken to church. Then one day about three years ago I asked my Dad to read me The Bible... This went on a short period of time, then I began reading it on my own. Just kept reading I knew emidiatly that Jesus was the light. How did I know? Well The Holy Spirit told me. Not in a loud voice not in any voice but written on my heart. I'm still the only one in my family that really believes.... I pray for guidance and strength and on my heart The Holy Spirit writes to love people and listen. I start doing that and everything becomes amazing. I wake up jumping out of bed with joy, ready to run my race.

I feel loved for the first time ever, I mean my Dad loves me but not like this kind of love. And the struggles are gone because I am never alone Jesus holds me up when I can't hold myself.

I know it is the Holy Spirit because it is all love and light... And The Bible teaches me that the darkness hates the light

Maybe this sounds crazy my parents say it is but they also see how happy I am and how much I love everyone.

It is simple The Good Shepard tends to His flock

Are we not called to love the Lord our God with all our minds as well as heart and strength?
We are......
.Are we not called to hide His word in our hearts that we might not sin against him?
We are called to come to Him and put in our hearts the words that the Lord will utter, not what we read, to us.
Are we not called to keep the word?
We are called to keep the words that the Lord will utter to us.

(...) Does God still speak/talk to the people in our time today as God did in the days of the old? (...) we also come to the way of knowing the Lord Jesus today by and through himself instead of knowing Him via the bible?
I believe that!

I regret not hearing Him (HIs personal voice) but I'm on my way to listening HIs will by circunstances... (I'm telling Him that's not the best way I could hear)

Did he not utter an entire book? What is to stop him from speaking through text, especially since he says he uses it?

I did not say Christ could not communicate outside scripture.

What I am saying is that those Providential urgings have less authority in our age than does the scripture.

Put not Jesus in a box, a plain rule to observe in coming to the reality of the existence of the Lord.

He is just beside you all the time, just keep on coming and talking to Him, and wait for Him to respond to you in His own ways, just be sure to acknowledge His ways when He responds. God bless you.

Thanks for your sharing, but just a bit of an unsolicited advice, the bible teaches not but the Lord Jesus who is just beside you does, we have to come to Jesus if we want to know the truth to all the things we search for the truth.

I do not put Him in a box. I simply seek to understand Him based on what He has already revealed.

Your way via the scriptures is the one that stopping Christ from speaking to you today.
And your way leaves you open to a sea of deception.

Jesus is real and alive and is just beside you, why tie him up to a book and make him speechless to you yourself? And how can coming to Jesus today be an opening to a sea of deception, are not all under the Lord's sovereignity?
