That is not what it speaks to...

Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Col 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

What this passage actually speaks to is who should judge...

Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Col 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

The main structure of the sentence (the skeleton) is this "Let no man therefore judge you but the body is of Christ."

Notice that "is" is in italics? You know what that means, so we should read the sentence thusly...

"Let no man therefore judge you but the body of Christ."

The other information there is what no one but the body of Christ should judge you on.
That's clearly not what verse 17 says:

[All of the aforementioned things] are a shadow of coming things, but the body is of Christ. Colossians 2:17

Christ and his body are the reality that the shadows (feasts, sabbaths, etc.) point to. Pretty plain language.

Uh, Christ came and was crucifed and resurrected 20 some years before Paul said that the shadows are of things TO COME. Future tense.

Yep the language is plain, plainly future tense.

That's why it says the body of Christ. The body is not yet complete, and will be revealed openly in it's fullness in it's future time.

Galatians 2:3-5 – Did Paul Teach Against Circumcision?
by Jon Sherman
Does Paul teach against circumcision and thus teach against God’s law? Galatians 2:3-5 Yet not even Titus who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised. And this occurred because of false brethren secretly brought in (who came in by stealth to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage), to whom we did not yield submission even for an hour, that the truth of the gospel might continue with you. The issue of circumcision is perhaps the most complicated subject to study in the new testament. This is not really b ... read more

from your source:

"So why then does it appear that Paul is teaching against circumcision in Galatians 2? He isn’t."

....

"This circumcision story starts off in Antioch (Galatia):

Acts 14:26-28 From there they sailed to Antioch, from which they had been commended to the grace of God for the work that they had accomplished. When they had arrived and gathered the church together, they began to report all things that God had done with them and how He had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles. And they spent a long time with the disciples.

While in Galatia some men come from Judea with this gospel for the Galatians:

Acts 15:1 Some men came down from Judea and began teaching the brethren, "Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved."

Already it should be clear that this is not a matter of whether we should or should not observe the Law of God, but rather if the Law of God assists in salvation. This is a theological problem of the first century and not so much in the Christian churches today. Thus there is a difference between correctly observing the Law of God because of our faith and the incorrect doctrine of legalism, which attempts to earn salvation by forfeiting grace."

....

"Peter establishes in Acts 15 that it is by faith that we are saved and that there is no Biblical difference between Jews and Greeks as it relates to salvation. Paul teaches the same once we read past Galatians 2 and enter into Galatians 3. In the first century mainstream Jewish leadership had a problem with the idea that Gentiles could simply have faith and thus become believers regardless of what commandments they were or were not immediately obedient to.

Peter makes the point that no one has been able to bear the burden of the gospel that teaches that we must keep God’s law in any capacity to be saved. The point would be is that all have fallen short and thus we need grace through faith. Peter states that the Gentile converts have been given the Holy Spirit in their faith, thus they will begin to learn and practice God’s law AFTER faith is established because that is the whole point of the Holy Spirit (Ezekiel 36:26-27; John 14:16-17; 26, 15:26; 16:13, 17:17, Psalm 119:142, Jeremiah 31:31-33). This would obviously rebuke the position offered in verse 1. Thus Peter would declare that legalism is a false doctrine."

....

"Acts 15:5 But some of the sect of the Pharisees who had believed stood up, saying, "It is necessary to circumcise them and to direct them to observe the Law of Moses."

The point that these “believing” Pharisees were trying to make is that converts should still be told that following the Law of God is part of being a believer. Christians would agree with that today would they not? We agree that we should not murder, or lie, etc. These Pharisees were “believers” meaning they were in God’s plan of salvation. They are not “legalizers” like the false brethren in verse 1. These Pharisees have true faith in order to be defined as believers. Thus James must still address the point established in Acts 15:5 and rule against the point in Acts 15:1."

_______

Acts 15
The Council at Jerusalem

5But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.

6And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter. 7And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. 8And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; 9And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. 10Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? 11But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

12Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them.

13And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and brethren, hearken unto me: 14Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name. 15And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written,

16After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:

17That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.

18Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world. 19Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God: 20But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood. 21For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.

The Letter to the Gentile Believers
22Then pleased it the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren: 23And they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia: 24Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment: 25It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, 26Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 27We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth. 28For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things; 29That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.

The Believers at Antioch Rejoice
30So when they were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle: 31Which when they had read, they rejoiced for the consolation. 32And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed them. 33And after they had tarried there a space, they were let go in peace from the brethren unto the apostles. 34Notwithstanding it pleased Silas to abide there still. 35Paul also and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.

~

The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia: Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:

WomanLovesTX;
could you save me some time if possible, and point me to 'exegesis' from Passion For Truth (Two-House Theology) which explains why the Jerusalem Council did not record forever something like this:

"The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia: Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have tried to help you in your sanctification with words, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment, but it is not intended to subvert your souls, rather eventually you will be required to be circumcised.

But for now, it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things; That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well.

Paul (or one of us) will teach you later about how to be circumcised and how to keep the sabbath.
Fare ye well.

and would you show me where those later instructions are found in the New Testament?

thanks - i'll watch for your reply.

Again???? Where in your following statement that I responded to did you make any mention about a "spiritual person don't need physical rest"?
Guess you didn't read thru the whole thread but you could just comment if a spiritual person needs physical rest, couldn't you?
Were not going in circles. You’ve jumped on to a different track.
I have been on topic which is about physical Sabbath. Does He have a different contract with believers not that they don't need physical rest?
What is resting mean to you?

Thsi is the Sabbath rest
it is necessary
to work on a car motor you have to turn it off
the Sabbath day is a day of focusing on our master and savior and the mind is recreated by the holy spirit again.
More like Jesus
this is critical for sanctification

hence the four thousand year battel by satan to try and remove that from the time of Babylon sunday worship till now
sure, idols are bad, but the keeping of the wrong day will not allow reformation of life to the completeness in christ

for we need christ resting withnin

the Sabbath is part of the commandments it is part of cration given just hours after Adam and eve were created
to keep them in perfect running order

all the worlds have this commandment
that is how fallible beings prevent failure and falling and going into a selfish spiral that will destroy their programming

look at our world

totally selfish destructive programming my judges juries leaders presidents political parties
they dont care who they kill as long as they get waht they want

this is life without the Sabbath

Sunday did not prevent the death spiral and it cant

if we would all keep the seventh day Sabbath all problems would cease.

and satan knows it
But satan isnt done
hw doesnt want his hmans corrected and given infinit power
he will not stop till evey person knowledgable about the Sabbath is dead...
JEws expecially...
Big world crises, telling his armis to start war, then blame the Jews
happened 22 times since Jesus was here

the Law of Moses
becomes
the Law of God

it's very clear what they are saying:

The point that these “believing” Pharisees were trying to make is that converts should still be told that following the Law of Moses, including circumcision is part of being a believer.

in fact that's exactly what they do say (occasionally inserting a caveat which they do not really believe - by the works of the Law of Moses no one will be justified in God's sight)

this appeal is made throughout:

"Christians would agree with that today would they not? We agree that we should not murder, or lie, etc"

and what would all this be but for the subverting of the soul?

Galatians 5
Christ Has Set Us Free

1For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.

2Look: I, Paul, say to you that if you accept circumcision, Christ will be of no advantage to you. 3I testify again to every man who accepts circumcision that he is obligated to keep the whole law. 4You are severed from Christ, you who would be justifieda by the law; you have fallen away from grace. 5For through the Spirit, by faith, we ourselves eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness. 6For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love.

7You were running well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth? 8This persuasion is not from him who calls you. 9A little leaven leavens the whole lump. 10I have confidence in the Lord that you will take no other view than mine, and the one who is troubling you will bear the penalty, whoever he is. 11But if I, brothers, still preach circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been removed. 12I wish those who unsettle you would emasculate themselves!

Sabbath is a commandment
Remember
It is a sin to break the commandments
there is no good reason to get rid of the commandments except they are trying to remove the Sabbath..Everyone agrees we sohouldnt sin, steal, covet, lie
but it is all about the Sabbath.

That is the only reason the false gospel was invented to supposedly nail the law to the cross
the Sabbath.

No one wants to nail the law Thou shalt not kill to the cros
or steal
or li
oh no
but they are so hateful against the Sabbath that they would throw the Baby out with the Bath water
thats what it is all about

The word of God says keeing the Sabbath will allow you to stop sinning
that is good enough for me.
What did Jesus suffer for you?
how much did he give up for us?
Thats how much we give up for him
and the Sabbath is all about Jesus
his personal presence and relationship with us

the angels in heaven cannot figure out why you want to nail your relationship of sanctifying infinite power to a tree

they think we have lost our minds
and as a world crated by God, we have.

Lets get away from circumcision and back to the commanment that God said to REMEMBER

PAul also said
when asked about the seventh day Sabbath

Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

Now the pagan monks schanged the word SABBATISMO *(seventh day Sabbath rest)
to just rest
so it wouldnt be clear

but look it up

PAul said

Or do you nhave your own religion?

You cannot deny the nose on your face without looking foolish.

Just buy an ARAMAIC english new testimen, Bible which never went through the latin pagan monk adjustments and it says

there reamins the SABBATH DAY for the people of God

and they kept it until 321 ad

everyon

this is not a credible argument
just read it

ask the pope
he will tell you the early christians all kept the seventh day sabbath
he will tell you that
I have the catechism and can show you
in their catechism they say all the crhistians in the world including PAUl continued keeping the seventh day Sabbath.

thenTHEY because they are GOD changed it to sunday in 321 when constantine CHANGED THE LAW

ok
I dont believe they have power to cdhange anything

so the Sabbath day remains for me and for any true Bible believing christians.

by Jon Sherman
Galatians 2:14 But when I saw that they were not straightforward about the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas in the presence of all, "If you, being a Jew, live like the Gentiles and not like the Jews, how is it that you compel the Gentiles to live like Jews? Galatians 2:14 is often cited to suggest that Paul is teaching that believers should live like the Gentiles and not as Jews. This is done to support a faulty theological doctrine that creates a divide in the purpose, delivery, and design of God’s law. In such a scenario, the Jews obviously represent the Law of God, ... read more
from your source (emphases theirs):

"Does this mean that Paul discards the Law of God? No, absolutely not. “God forbid!” The law is designed to kill us so that it produces an inward desire to live to God instead of for our self. It is through the law that we realize that we are sinners. This is what it is supposed to do, and for that, it is good.

Romans 7:11-12 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it killed me. Therefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good.

Paul then teaches that because the law kills him by exposing his sin that the desire to keep the Law of God and desire to hate the law of sin is the natural result in our faith:

Romans 7:13-25 “Has then what is good (Law of God) become death to me? Certainly not! But sin, that it might appear sin, was producing death in me through what is good (Law of God), so that sin through the commandment might become exceedingly sinful. For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin. For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what Ihate, thatI do.

If,then,IdowhatIwillnottodo,Iagreewiththelawthatitisgood. Butnow, itis no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. For the good that I willtodo,Idonotdo;buttheevilIwillnottodo, thatIpractice.

NowifIdowhatIwillnottodo, itisno longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank God— through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.”

With this, we realize that Paul is certainly not teaching against the Law of God in Galatians 2:19, but describing the correct process that the Law of God is to serve, a process that has been perverted and twisted by the Circumcision Party.

Galatians 2:19 "For through the Law I died to the Law, so that I might live to God (serve the Law of God).

Paul explains the Law of God in this way for a very important reason. The Circumcision Party reads God’s law and simply does God’s law to boast outwardly. Without faith God simply does not recognize such works as obedience, but instead men’s faulty religious systems under the guise of God’s ways.

Paul’s point is to prove that God’s law is designed to convict us by defining and exposing our sin. At that time it is to force us to realize that we are sinners, thus it can not be a means to salvation. God’s law is to point us to the means to salvation (Christ). We then put on the mind of Christ (Romans 7:25; 1 Corinthians 2:16) in our faith, which is serving the Law of God because of our salvation, not for it.

Galatians 2:20 "I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.

Paul concludes that practicing God’s law for salvation nullifies the grace afforded to us through faith. Righteousness unto salvation is through Christ alone."

There is no reason, nor will there ever be, given by Yahweh to change the order of creation. He rested on the seventh day, and He tells His children to remember it!

No flesh may change the commandments, and no flesh claiming the Only Begotten Son should want to. Only Satan would want to have the power to rescind Yahweh's will, and we all know where he winds up.

It is unbelievable what people will believe
in order not to believe.

Your only question is thie:
Will I leave my church that is in Babylon sunday worship and go home church?
Will God support me?
What else can I do beside being a pastor

answer is
God will bless you and sanctify you
and you will be part of the ones following JEsus
the 144,000 that have faith

I had to do it
it is easy to follow Jesus
to make the Bible king.
Jesus king
Yes Lord it is the truth
this is the way walk ye in it

and your example will save many others who did not have a backbone.
