i also personally experienced this and i believe this is why there is eternal security also, i'll explain [h=3]1 Corinthians 6:19[/h]King James Version (KJV)

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

so after being filled with the holy spirit it is no longer our body but the body of Christ but what happens when we allow our flesh to take control and we start sinning wilfully again? what would God do to bring us back to him to where we were?[h=3]Hebrews 10:26-27[/h]King James Version (KJV)

26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

what well this very thing happen to me yesterday... i got carried away and forgot that this is the body of christ and i somehow got persuaded to drink... and as God notice that i was sinning wilfully something came over me i use to suffer from anxiety attacks that happen to me when i use to smoke but i wasn't smoking just sinning wilfully and i was wondering why this was happening and it gradually keep getting worst and worst and i was getting paranoid at everything until it got to a point where i couldn't take it anymore and i was on a bus going home and i cried out to God for help and he anwsered back, that same scripture came into my head as i cried out to God " fearful look at judgement" then i saw a flash back of myself of what i was doing throughout the day i know that was God and when i understood what i had done i ask God to forgive me and cleanse me from this feeling and it immediately went away and i came back to God once again, i believe this is a sign of eternal security some may not agree but i don't think God will allow his children to just stray away without scolding them remember he is our father and what did our parents do to us when we misbehave? they straightened us out and made us humble it's the same thing with God.

Anyone truly under grace cannot be lawless because any time he or she falters the conscience, convicted by the Holy Spirit, will bring remorse, knowing a law has been broken, and this remorse leads to immediate repentance.

wilfully remember our flesh is born to a sinful nature so sometimes we sin but when we sin wilfully that is when God steps in and deals with us

Thinking that you will never sin again is ridiculous.
There is no such thing as being "saved" until the day that you die - and THEN God decides whether you are worthy of going to Heaven or not.
The "Once Saved, Always Saved" doctrine is blasphemous. People who believe in the OSAS doctrine are performing blasphemy because THEY believe that regardless of what they do, they WILL be going to Heaven and God's opinion does NOT even matter.

I know from scripture that once saved always saved is not the way our faith works, but at the same time to say those who think this is actual in faith are blaspheming is a bit strong if they are ignorant of it being wrong. But! You would think they would find out for themselves by just a quick read of at least the Epistles....................They, we, will be judged by our faith, hope and love.

so after receiving salvation soon as we make a sin we have to repent again and be born again over and over and over again? yea that makes sense.. and please show me anywhere in the scripture that says salvation is NOT eternal.

punishment is death if we still choose to disobey God will never forsake his children if we choose not to take his warnings because he does straighten us back in place but if we still choose to disobey the warnings he is gonna have to bring us home before we bring embarrassment to him, i heard a story about this pastor he truly loved God but something happen to him and he fell back into the world and gave up started drinking heavily again and didn't care and wasn't listening when his brothers and sisters was talking to him until one day he just got sick just like that and died i believe this man is in heaven right now, God will never forsake his children, but if we wilfully sin he will punish us as the scripture said

[h=3]Hebrews 12[/h]King James Version (KJV)

12 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.
5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.
11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
12 Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;
13 And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.
14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;
16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.
17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.
18 For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest,
19 And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more:
20 (For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart:
21 And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:)
22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
25 See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:
26 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.
27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.
28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
29 For our God is a consuming fire.

what we feel in our heart, is what we should obey. The truth for us is in our heart.
I had lots of things in my heart yesterday. I wanted a dish of ice cream. I was angry at -------- and felt I was treated unfairly. I could go on and on. Was each thing in my heart something to obey?

Scripture guides me to test my heart, some call scripture the law.

Hello L, I understand what you are saying here, but I think the post is refering to our obeying the law we have received inscribed on our hearts. Oh, the heart, Jesus knew it, and it can be very deceitful, so thank God for His Law written there in spite of things which may occur that are not nice.

Tell us what else was in your heart that lead you away from your anger and pulled you out of self pity?

We under grace cannot be lawless because the holy spirit will reprove us, as you have said. John wrote about this grace:

Everyone who is born of God does not practice sin, because [GOD's] seed remains in him, and he is not able to continue sinning, because he has been born of God. 1 John 3:9

The seed of GOD (the holy spirit) residing within those born of GOD prevents them from continuing in sin by convicting them and leading them to repentance. Those not born of GOD do not have this witness, and continue on their merry way in sin, and on into destruction.

Thank you, loveme, for pointing out how wonderful to have the Lord in our hearts! We can check with the word to sort it out, and love and peace flows in.

You reminded me of the past couple of days i have had, always a verse to set us straight.

i also wanted to make this so the legalist can maybe understand a little more about grace, and when we are under the grace of God we cannot go astray, and some of you considered us " lawless " because we said we are under grace and not under law

There is a story that reminds me of this, I'll rephrase it.

There once was a father who was teaching his son about life. He told his son, "There is a fight going on inside me."

"It is a terrible fight and its between two wolves. One is evil - he is anger, jealousy, self-will, lust, deception, and sorrow. The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, humility, truth and faith. The same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too."

The boy thought about it and asked, "Which wolf will win?"

The father replied, "The one you feed."

we already won in christ though those who received him, [h=3]John 10:27-28[/h]King James Version (KJV)

27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
