Paul was not qualified to be an apostle

What information not given to Jesus are you talking about?

Will I give particular protagonism to an adopted child than MY FIRST BORN or those I shared my own blood?

Just to think! But I have largely seen Paul as an add on to the Gospel of the Scripture I believe (send me wherever you think of, but Jesus is enough for me).

Paul would be an add on by Jesus.

And Jesus being enough for me includes all that Jesus is, said and did.

The "new man" in Paul.
 
So, you're saying Paul was an apostle but Paul was not qualified to be an apostle, lovethatpink ?

"For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God." 1 Corinthians 15:9 .

Bottom line: Paul was an apostle , by the grace God gave him.


God gives us all His grace, so, does that mean we are all apostles, pinklovinggirl ?

One last question, how does Paul being qualified to be an apostle or not affect your belief in God?

Does it affect your doctrine? Is that why you believe as you do?
 
The few ancillary facts you have stated have been wrong like Paul was the replacement of Judas.

Danschance, pretty sure I said back there somewhere, I was not in anyway suggesting Paul was the replacement for Judas.

Why is this so difficult to discuss for some, there most certainly were criteria for choosing an apostle from the 120 men present in Acts 1, can we agree on that? Anyone here can we agree on that; lol

Uh...how could Paul not be an apostle when it was he who explained the 5 fold ministry?

Makes no sense, but there are indeed many "winds" blowing now which aren't of Holy Ruach...

What do you make of the nine verses which say that Paul was an Apostle?

They are showing various aspects of what the 12 apostles and even Jesus' disciples were involved in throughout the earthly ministry of Christ, which qualified them for positions and vocations, if you will.

This ministry was a house God was establishing or building, this was the messianic ministry, being called out of the Mosaic house which was where the pharisees were seated, bringing violence against the kingdom of God, meaning rejection of their Messiah. The little flock the 12 apostles ministered to were identified with the Davidic covenant and the three important seed lines from John's baptism forward, that is why they asked the question in Acts 1:6, they understood they were in the last days as well as, the Israel of God or remnant called out by God, a nation bearing fruit.

Paul, says he was not meet (1 Cor 15:9) because he actively persecuted "the church of God" as a member of the house of Mosas. Paul says he was a blasphemer, he was laying waste to those saints of the way, this was direct rejection of the work, presence & ministry conducted by the Holy Spirit who was filling God's people.

Just because I said Paul was not qualified, or disqualified, does not negate the truth of His being called, chosen, separated, sent or given a ministry, he was, it is called the ministry of the church the body of Christ, the ministry of reconciliation. Where we hear about the new creation, the one new man and how God commandeth all men everywhere to repent Acts 17:30-31, according to the Gospel Paul preached by revelation of Christ for the dispensation committed to His trust, to fulfil the word of God.

All I ever said is Paul was not meet (qualified) to be a partaker (apostle)... in the earthly & ministry started by Christ with the 12, but he was a part a new identity. 2 Cor 5:16-21

Your posts were fair and I appreciate it. I am not ashamed to share my beliefs. Not many people here seem to believe alike, it is pretty wild. I have not been following this thread all to close so this may have been discuss. But the position of apostle is appointed by the Lord it is not a position appointed by men. It is not lets vote and see who we like position. When they voted for the 12th apostle the Lord stepped in and chose Paul. We saw the same thing when Sarah thought she would do what was best by giving her handmaid to Abraham. The Lord rejected that and did it his way.

Acts 1:24And they prayed and said, “You, Lord, who know the hearts of all men, show which one of these two You have chosen 25to occupy this ministry and apostleship from which Judas turned aside to go to his own place.” 26And they drew lots for them, and the lot fell to Matthias; and he was added to the eleven apostles.
 
I believe Paul to be the greatest apostle mentioned in the bible. He brought a dead man back to life and even send cloth he handled to people to heal them. Nothing like that was ever done with the other apostles. He also wrote much of the NT.
 
I have seen plenty of debate of Paul's legitimacy between Christians and non Christians. Surprised to see debate about Paul's legitimacy amongst Christians. Most of the NT comes from Paul as Danschance states. Can you be a Christian and not accept Paul ?

Well, It sounds like they chose the 2 they wanted and then told the Lord when he was to choose one. It is obvious he was not in that little voting/picking demonstration. So, he chose Paul. I don't believe there are 13 apostles just 12. The foundation and everyone of them was chosen by Lord in his good time.

Peter even puts the choice in the context of the fulfillment of prophesy. 20“For it is written in the book of Psalms, ‘LET HIS HOMESTEAD BE MADE DESOLATE, AND LET NO ONE DWELL IN IT’ and, ‘LET ANOTHER MAN TAKE HIS OFFICE.’ 21“Therefore it is necessary that of the men who have accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us— 22beginning with the baptism of John until the day that He was taken up from us—one of these must become a witness with us of His resurrection.”

This is an inspired selection "and he was added to the eleven apostles."
You seem to think that there can only be 12 apostles.
