I'm taking Oncefallen's copy of Wild At Heart away.
You already took mine away... I can't find it anywhere now that you just mentioned it.

But you left the Garfield books that were next to it untouched... Odd.

I did some Christmas shopping today. I'm a free man, which means I can eat my dinner in a fancy restaurant, if you know what I mean.

There was a girl at Urban Outfitters. While my friend was looking at scarves for his GF, I was flirting with the Floor person.

It occurred to me that it was this girl's body language that made everything smooth. There was nothing physically remarkable about her. She was short, overweight, and some acne. But she was approachable and friendly but, not ingratiating or smarmy.

She didn't display the hallmark insecurities that most girls have. The tight shoulders, the confrontational eyes, the defensive posture, and the ever observant look that implies they are waiting for me to commit a crime. I call this look turtling.

This young lady, mirrored my body language, stood next to me, reciprocated my humor, complimented me, made constructive suggestions and even felt comfortable enough to poke fun at me. All within the span of about 2 minutes. This made the next 30 minutes some of the best in person interaction I've had in weeks.

Also here's a link to a description of what I'm usually talking about...

Thank you for this thread Oncefallen. I'm glad to know I can be relieved of the task of asking a guy out. :) Now Imma go put my big girl skirt on and wait for this big boy pants-wearing guy.

On a different note, the Similar Threads section at the bottom made me chuckle.''Baggy Pants Legal'' <--not the kinda pants we're talking about here, I hope :)

Thank you for this thread, Oncefallen.

Everyone in this forum has a bad day from time to time. Pretty much everyone in this forum has been hurt by someone somehow at some time. We all get that. But when it gets to the point where a person is not just expressing pain or sharing an opinion, but being aggressively rude, abusive and mocking toward people who are merely posting their own thoughts/feelings/etc., there comes a time to stand up and say that enough is enough. The people of this forum are NOT their personal punching bags and some of us are sick of seeing loving, well-meaning people be attacked solely for someone's entertainment.

We can sit around and gripe about it or we can DO something about it. We need to stop tolerating it and stop feeding the monster.

Pray for them? Yes! Absolutely! Suffer abuse or watch others be abused and say nothing for who knows how long? That's ridiculous. Some people clearly cannot be reasoned with. They want bootlickers, not reason.

Thanks again!

**WARNING** If you are content in your life whining about how horrible everything is, if you are easily offended and want to believe that everything bad that has ever happened is someone else' fault then DON'T READ THIS POST!!!!!!

**DISCLAIMER** This post is not directed at any specific person

After spending entirely too much time lately reading posts about how terrible it is that women won't step up and do the manly thing by initiating a relationship, "nice guys" having it so rough, etc. ad nauseam I felt inclined to post this since I'm sure many have been thinking it.

It's time to put your big boy pants on and be a man.

Why don't ladies initiate relationships? Because it isn't in their nature!!! God created women with the innate need to be desired and persued. If you want her, then go after her!! If she doesn't share your interest, put your big boy pants on and move on. What? You aren't willing to risk having your tender feelings hurt? Then obviously you don't want her that bad, you better learn to enjoy single life.

Why do "nice guys" seem to finish last? Because a woman needs a MAN. God created women with the need to know that they are going to be protected and "nice guys" don't tend to fill this position too well, they're usually too busy being nice. I'm still trying to figure out where this modern idea of Jesus being a "nice guy" came from. The last time I checked "nice guys" aren't too prone to chase people with a whip or verbally attack those in authority who are in the wrong.

So you have issues with being insecure, emotionally damaged, or a poor self image? Put on your big boy pants and do something about it. There is nothing wrong with having problems, but a man recognizes his weaknesses and does what it takes to fix them.

Life is full of risks and those who dive in and take the risks are the ones who get the rewards.
I don't support the fact that people complain/whine about their problems and all that negative stuff, but I still just see the pursuing part as an opinion. I still don't think it matters who pursues or not... But that's just me.

I want to get a claymore to honor the Scottish part of my heritiage some day. I like swords. They serve as reminders of the sword of the spirit that we all have as believers in Christ. I'm not going to lie, I might also hold it up and say "there can be only one", at least a few dozen times.

Reminding me that God trusted me with a sword helps me man up. Listening to Christ-centered celtic punk also helps me man up. It is time for men of God in the body of Christ to man up. No more on the fence!

Like a tree without its branches, like a fire without a light,
You’re a battle weary soldier who is running from the fight,
Like a ship without an anchor, you’re a boat without a crew,
You hide the light inside you as you’re whoring out the truth,
On the outside you’re pretty, on the inside you’re drenched,
In the blood of the anointed in the wound of the oppressed,
Fill your cup full of sorrows as you soil the master’s clothes,
You were faithful at the wedding feast, but now wasted in the road,
Like a city on a hill with a blackout in effect
You defy your maker, is there one you respect?
Like a city on a hill you are tattered and torn,
You defy your Maker in your return to the scorn,
Put life to your footsteps, put spine to your feet,
Will you make your decision are you chaff or are you wheat?
Will you rise or will you fall, will you stand or will you crawl?
Will you be the ones He's called you to be or turn away and run,
I say No
