There are several married people who are a part of the community here as well, and no one cares, except the newbies who are all offended that someone un-single is in Singles. The veteran community doesn't care, and the forum has admin coming out of its ears who don't feel it's an issue...so really, it's a moot point.
did I ever say it was wrong? I just said that does not make you single. Never said married people couldn't make posts or comment here.

*picks up thread, places it back on rails*

I am thankful for the wives at church who treat me like part of the family, whether it's as a brother or as a son.

I am thankful for my mom. I'm hard on her, she's hard on me...uh...LNF knows what I mean.

I am thankful for Jill, who was one of the first people to embrace me when everything went down two years ago. (She's not on CC.)

I am thankful for YOU, ladies...*snaps, points fingers like guns at the women on Singles all smarmy-like*...because youse guys is good company and you prove that not all hope is lost.

And to my special three, of which a day never goes by that we don't end up having SOME kind of group hoedown (conversations about Grey's Anatomy aside), thanks for keeping me real and honest...and LETTING ME be as honest as I need to be. A man's got to be able to say some things to someone OTHER than God sometimes, and it's nice to have a trio of women who are not going to condemn me for the problems with my flesh, and instead, uplift and support me. You da best, yo.

*drops mike, walks off*

I marvel at the strength of men. I play racquetball, and I play hard, and maybe because I have horrible upper body strength, but the guys I play with can just smash that ball into the wall seemingly effortlessly.

I've also watched co-ed volleyball games and I see these guys serve overhand and it looks like they're hardly trying, but that ball just rockets over the net.

Yes, women are strong. I'm not trying to say they aren't. But I don't know, maybe because I'm not, it's cool to watch people who are.

That sounds creepier than intended.

I'm sorry, but I don't really believe it works that way.

If and when I have my girlfriend, I would never want her to say that she was unavailable but single. Oh man that would make me feel so low. I'd be like (in the words of a Blimey Cow character): THIS IS OVER! lol
*shrugs* didn't mean to offend anyone. My boyfriend and I are in a committed exclusive relationship. It's all about word choice. When people ask me if I'm single I usually say no because they tend to misunderstand what I mean. Legally speaking, one is single prior to being married. That's all I meant, guys. Even on CC, when you enter your marital status, you can choose married or unmarried..there's no "in a relationship" status like on Facebook :p

Thumbs up for the blimey cow reference, though! ^_^

Single means being available to date others but you've said My boyfriend and I are in a committed exclusive relationship.

This is not a word choice, it's a state of being. Would he be happy if you were dating others? I suspect no therefore you can't be single.

Now we have a 17-year-old thread policeman running loose in the Christian Singles forum...

I made one comment about how I wouldn't define that as single. Never said she was wrong, never said married people couldn't come on here yet people are saying I did or at least one person. and aha, funny post lol

I hope that someday you learn how to use a dictionary of the English language.

-> Single - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster Dictionary

single adjective \ˈsiŋ-gəl\
: not married or not having a serious romantic relationship with someone

Oh God forgive them because they don't know what they're doing . Can we move on with the actual thread please?

I am thankful God made men because.....

they can open jars
they can reach stuff form high shelves
they don't get cold so easily so I can wear their jackets when I do get cold
if I was in a relationship with one I could say threatening things like ''just wait till my boyfriend/husband sees you''
in a similar note, I could get rid of creeps by saying I have a boyfriend/husband

on a more spiritual note...
I'm really thankful God created men because they show us a side of God ( godly men especially) that women can't. They are strong, protective, and make great sacrifices for their families. In a godly relatonship, they represent Christ sacrificially loving the Church. And that's awesome :)

So being in an exclusive committed relationship isn't serious and not romantic? I see.

So she's just stringing him along then?
That's not how the word "or" works.

Do you understand basic logic? If someone is "not married" then they are single according to that definition from the dictionary.

Generally speaking, if you have to ask how the word "or" works, you're not going to understand Misty77, right?

t seems she doesn't like being taught by men so assumes the role of teacher herself.

You know what guys?

I would appreciate if we could please drop the "single" topic, or move it elsewhere. Please feel free to start a new thread about the definition of the world single. I'm not being sarcastic, I mean it. I'd be glad to join the conversation if it was moved elsewhere. Feel free to quote my original post about it, too. But please do not continue to bicker here. :)

The Enemy is delighting right now because we are now distracted from what should have been a place to praise God for our brothers and sisters in Christ. He always seeks to take our minds off of what is good and pure.

-------------

I thank God for the pastors at my church. They are selfless, loving, humble, and great leaders. God has used them to bless so many people.

I thank God for my brother. He's far from perfect, but over the years I've seen him grow closer and closer to the Lord! It's incredible to witness him exhibit signs of godly leadership within the youth group at church.

I am so thankful for my uncles. They, along with my dad, spent their Christmas away from their families so that they could throw a Christmas party for a group of about 50 kids who were left homeless after typhoon haiyan struck the philippines. I'm in tears writing this now. God is SO GOOD.

I was SO excited to see this thread when I opened up CC today. I hope we can save it. LoveNeverFails, you are amazing to start this. We need to rejoice in our brothers who God sent into our lives to bless us in so many ways!

I am thankful for men in general... protectors, providers, leaders and spiritual teachers. How difficult is it to be a man? I am glad that I will never know.

I'm thankful for my dad, who raised me up in gentle love and encouragement.

I'm thankful for my pastor and elders, who stepped up and went to bat for my family when things fell apart two years ago.

I'm thankful for the many men in my church who have become real brothers and fathers to me as a single mother, helping me learn to change a mower blade, install a faucet, build bookshelves and so many other things.

I'm thankful for the men here who've been good friends, full of a caring nature, good company, light-hearted jesting and wisdom. Late night chats, honest talks, humble sharing, REAL stuff. I heart you all!
