There's a piece of glitter on the top my nose. I don't see it in the mirror, but every time I move my head just right in the light, I can sort of see it because the light will reflect off of it. #Girlproblems

Edit: Found it. Finally. Thank goodness. That was driving me nuts :p

Also, I thank Jesus that HE still moves in our lives in spite of our mistakes. :) I was totally out of it during P&W. I made so many rookie mistakes. Everyone was for some reason. In spite of that, I still was able to keep an attitude of worship, and the people were still moved. :) Praise the Lord.

Why can't I be one of those women who buys expensive shoes when I feel all down? Why do I insist on buying nail polish and mascara and hair dye?

Retail therapy for me leaves me with...
Cheap cosmetics.
Meh, could be worse, yeah?

I am wondering how my old neighbor, "Scowling-Russian-Woman-with-Tiny-Dog" is doing. When I first moved here, she would be out in the lot with her tiny dog and a babooshka scarf over her head. I would wave to her as I drove out. She would look up, maintain her frown, and watch as I headed out.

This would go on for months. I made it my mission to befriend her. One day, I waved to her and when she saw that I had kids in my car, I saw a hint of a smile. After still a few more months, Scowling-Russian-Woman-with-Tiny-Dog looked up at me, still frowning, but returned my wave. Success!

I developed this fantasy that her name was Olga, and that we would have interesting chats in the parking lot where she would say such things as "You like beets but have never had borscht? I make you some borscht!" Over delicious soup, she would mention that her daughter, Svetlana, was soon coming from the Old Country and needed someone to help her with American customs. Svetlana would be about my age, strikingly beautiful, and we would get along famously.

Scowling-Russian-Woman-with-Tiny-Dog and I met at the mail boxes one day. It turns out that her name was Judy and she was of German descent, not Russian at all. She confessed to me that she was experiencing money troubles and facing eviction. I realized this was the reason for all the frowns. For all the scowls. There was no Svetlana. There was no borscht. Just an old woman with too much weight on her shoulders full of worry and fear. She was evicted a couple weeks after our conversation.

I don't know why I'm writing. Maybe there was a lesson to be learned - that I should be more encouraging and open in sharing about how God provided for me through various miracles - or maybe that I should realize that many who appear unfriendly are just hurting or preoccupied with worry. Maybe both these things. Yeah....probably both these things.

That's sad. I wish it was what you were hoping for.

The right color nail polish works wonders in the life of a woman :)

For zaoofmen: Writers Digest is a helpful guide for writers monthly. Guideposts is a 'Readers Digest' like magazine that has Christian themed stories . I also recommend 'Strunk and White' small book 'Elements of Style.' A quick beneficial read for all inspiring writers .
Also, there is a book every year published with freelance markets all over the USA and Canada called 'Writers Market.'

2014 Writer's Market | WritersDigestShop

catherdingfrenchhorningmusicianmaestrosheepfarmingsuperdad's little story on the Russian woman scowler, who, maybe, had a 'Svetlana' and was really a German lady, was a wonderful read and got me to thinking these words for some reason, 'future bestseller.' Really good story, telling, bro :)

Walking on the beach in CA this time of year is OK, to actually get in the water is another thing all together. The Pacific currents bring water south from Alaska in which case this time of year the water is reallllllly cold.

My mom told me that she read that cayenne pepper mixed with honey is supposed to help with coughing/a sore throat (which I have had for almost a week now).

I misheard her measurements and added way too much cayenne pepper. My mouth was on FIYE-AH.

No it's Doctor Hooves, my daughter found it. I guess it's a Broney creation. Does look a bit like a squirrel though.

Ther won't be a new Doctor Who airing until August or September. Why do they do that?????

Oh, dear, Rachel! Be sure to drink lots of milk! (not that you'll take any issue with that advice). :)

Actually, he's a creation of the show. He was appearing in the background for a while before the fandom noticed him and named him. There are actually very few fan (brony) created ponies; most cult characters are background ponies who have fans.

I said my name 92 x's today. LOL I hate my name. :p...or rather I should say I hate listening to my voice say it.

So it was slow/busy @ work today if that makes any sense. I was able to doodle in between calls. That's always a win/win situation.

Winner of the best/longest/strangest call of the day, goes to a woman who I spent nearly 20 minutes with explaining every detail about a down jacket she was wanting to exchange for a slightly different down jacket. In the end she finally decided between citron & tidal blue. This color choice took (and I kid you not) 12 or the 20 minutes I spent with her. lol

I even went so far as to ask her what her skin tone was...hair color, majority of colors in her wardrobe just to help her make a final choice. In the end we went with....

wait for it...........

CHARCOAL GREY! :p

Yeah. True Story.

Last night I had a dream that my piano teacher approached me and basically declared that he wanted to know Jesus. I wish I could remember his exact words, because they were really profound.

I'm not quite sure what to think of that, but starting today I'm praying for him. We'll see what God does.

I love (says with dripping sarcasm) how the devil comes in to try & take what isn't his...tries to mess with your heart & mind..tries to get you to second guess yourself..other's...and most of all the goodness of GOD.

When God does something amazing..miraculous...hold on to it...remember what He's done..treasure it...share it with others...the blessings He's given you. Never..Ever doubt that it was Him who blessed you & don't let anyone downplay the wonderful thing's He's done/doing/will do in your life or the lives of those you love.

Man...there's some things I'd really like God to do. I just think it'd be amazing. But I just feel like God would be like "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA no." not in a mean way. Just a reality check kind of way. Meh. I might ask God anyways. Just for fun.
