I have surmised that there are many "professing" Christians that haven't the desire to live up to the agreement, for they have been taught that Christ died, making an end to the agreement. Like it's all done now and we are saved and are free to do as we want. They have been taught that the responsibility is all on Jesus for us to be acceptable in God's sight, and we are no longer are obligated to reciprocate according to the instructions given since the beginning. Saying we belong to this covenant with the mouth, and having not the desire to live by the Words that the covenant contains relates to these verses, and God's judgment will be this............"for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid." That's not anything to look forward to.

Isaiah 29:13-14 (KJV)
[SUP]13 [/SUP]Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:
[SUP]14 [/SUP]Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.

Mark 7:6 (KJV)
[SUP]6 [/SUP]He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

I think it is partly blind ignorance of the truth about the Word for some, and willful ignorance for others. None of us deserve what Messiah has done for us, that's for sure. Makes us want to try a little harder, go a little farther..don't it brothers and sisters?

[SUP]35 [/SUP]In everything I have given you an example of how, by working hard like this, you must help the weak, remembering the words of the Lord Yeshua himself, ‘There is more happiness in giving than in receiving.’”

..and let us not always be receivers not concerned with giving back..or at least obey.

Luke 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

God likes to use covenants. They are important to Him and should be to us…but they aren’t.

We can say with all good intent that we believe that when we make a promise we keep it and that is part of the ‘integrity’ we should all have. What is so bad is that as a society (at least in America) we have become so accustomed to breaking promises and contracts that we no longer view the covenants God makes with us with the gravity He does. The proof is in the pudding as the old saying goes – just consider the number of marriage contracts broken, the number of home and car repossessions, and the number of bankruptcies we see today. As much as we might like to say that these things happen for good reasons in our own minds, a closer look at covenants would do us well. Why should we study covenants…because according to Galatians 3:14, the covenant blessings of Abraham are also for us. “in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we would receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. (NAS) Only a fool would not want to know his/her obligations and benefits of a contract he/she was a part of.

To begin with, in 21[SUP]st[/SUP] century America we use the common definition of the word ‘covenant’ to determine our understanding of what it is – an agreement or contract. This is logical and acceptable for modern secular life, although ethically, it is still terrible that we go back on so many contracts, so easily. However, when pondering the status of most of our prayers – answered or unanswered, or any other aspect of our spiritual health, or anywhere that God is concerned, we need to use His meaning of the word. In order to do that, we have to look at history.

Most of us probably never even looked at our salvation as a covenant with God but we enter into Covenant when we proclaim ourselves to be “saved” or a “believer or “a Christian” or simply a “follower of Christ.” We accept God’s gift of salvation without realizing the point of it is to bring us back to that state of fellowship for which we were created. That is the purpose of His covenants. Understanding all of this, to realize that He could have simply said, “I will do this and you do that,” but instead He chose to partner with us in covenant, while being breathtakingly awe-inspiring, is at the same time, equally as humbling. God created us to have fellowship with Him, and this is proven by the fact He makes covenants with man…as if He could not be trusted to keep His word. 1 Peter 2:9 (NAS) tells us we are “…A CHOSEN RACE, A ROYAL PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God's OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light ;” The moment we enter into Covenant with God we are His…dedicated to Him much like the Nazarites of Bible times.

We do not understand Covenant God’s way. Not only do we no longer respect authority and view dependence as weakness, we refuse to practice submission – all vital components of Covenant. Currently in America the separation of church and state has accelerated the process of covenant breaking and not understanding covenant because it is meant to infiltrate all of our daily lives, and used to be integrated into all of life until we began harping on the misinterpreted phrase, “separation of church and state” issue. God blessed America for befriending Israel and being the first to recognize her as a legitimate country when she became independent in 1948. Americans lived better and had more than ever before, until we allowed the separation of church and state to pull us away from the principles we stood for and propagated in our society…and look at us now.
hi new just my wife say all good and dandy lol and i say if only But sadly i say not everyone is aware of the importance of the covenants and quite frankly and some may even never get baptised ,, But a persons word is his word. I Would say its logicly exceptable and quite plausable that maybe people Who have not even been baptised keep a better vow than than those Who have, and quite frankly i Would say it make not to much diffrence to me because those Who truly seek the guidance have no need to fear or worry about getting it wrong for the spirit will teach you.
Does it matter really how well read up you are or how intelectually cleaver you are ? A person can be the dumbest person you ever met But score 99 percent better than the smartest person in other things like a natural born talent, I see the things you saying and your posts are a blessing to me , anyways take care peace sister

Thought of a fitting scripture. May god, the source of hope, fill you with all joy and all peace by means of your faith in him, so that your hope will continue to grow by the power of the holy spirit

Matthew 9:17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.

Born of the flesh is the old wineskin and trying in and of the flesh destroys one: when one gets broken over their in ability to obey Law perfectly as The disciples finally saw this while with Christ when they saw that rich man walk away sadly, not able to give up his life here on earth
Matthew 19:16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
Matthew 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
Matthew 19:18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
Matthew 19:20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
Matthew 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
Matthew 19:22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
Matthew 19:23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 19:24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
Matthew 19:25 When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?

Does anyone get it, is anyone else here annihilated, torn to pieces, seeing no way by works is anyone going to make it to heaven. There are other verses that state to cut off and gouge out, that we are better to cut off parts and gouge out eyes, better for part of us to go to heaven than all of us to go to hell, that is what is required under Law you all.

So what does Jesus reply to that ? how is it possible for any of us to go to heaven after seeing the rich man walk away sad.
Matthew 19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

So what was Christ talking about you all? Was and did he not show us that us trying to be perfect that in this flesh we can't. Not possible with man, our flesh that is, the old wineskin? needs new wine Christ and if we pour in this new wine to flesh (old wineskin) we get torn apart, ever been there or are there right now? trying so hard and just can't quite cut it, asking, praying for God's help, getting flustered behind closed doors?

And possible with God, was this the cross where he took away the sin of the world John 1:29 revealed this prior to his going to the cross, as the witness to this?
What did Christ's death do according to scripture:
Colossians 1:22 in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

Can anyone improve on Holy? I know I can't and every time I tried I showed me to be a failure and got caught up in the asking for more forgiveness from God, without the shedding of blood or a sacrifice according to the Old Covenant.
Looked for asking for more forgiveness from God anywhere after the death that says made us Holy, and could not find anywhere from any disciple that says we are to ask for more forgiveness after we have received the forgiveness provided at the cross.
This is found many times before the death of Christ on the cross, a part of the old covenant.
When today we are by the new covenant of Love are fallen in Love with Father through Son's established work that Father is satisfied with for all that believe at the cross of Son

We are by Christ's death first cleansed, made Holy so that Father sees us this way through Son and gives us new life in the Spirit of Father thanks to Son
Hoping, praying you all get it
You want to stop!!!!!!!!!!!!!! then trust Father through Son.
Do not give up, for when you do make the decision to just trust, I tell you the war is on,

Galatians 4:29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.

So choose today how and whom you shall serve God in the Spirit or the flesh? Which one pleases God the creator of all?

In the study of the word “covenant” I have found some amazing things. It is common practice by the Christian sect to separate the two. For sure there are two, and I will explain the differences between them in later posts. I do hope that this will be edifying to those that want the truth, and I’m sure that there will be some that will argue against what I feel necessary to present. To begin, I present a verse that Paul wrote to the Galatians, with the likeness between the two covenants as an “allegory,” yet there is only one covenant that has been consistent from the beginning.
Galatians 4:24 (KJV)
[SUP]24 [/SUP]Which things are an allegory: (238) for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.
Allegory: A figurative discourse, in which the principle subject is described by another subject resembling it in its properties and circumstances. This allegory is a narrative in which abstract ideas are personified, a continued metaphor. In this, we see that the two covenants are actually the same. The difference, as will be described, is physical versus Spiritual.

Old Testament Covenant=(Strong’s1285) briyth ber-eeth' from **1262 (in the sense of cutting (***like 1254); a *compact (because made by passing between pieces of flesh):--confederacy, (con-)feder(-ate), covenant, league.

In Biblical terms this is a *compact, firmly united between two pieces of flesh, involving sacrifice, and the human race. It is also a description for marriage, one being between man and woman, and the other between Jesus and the church.

**1262 barah baw-raw' a primitive root; to select; also (as denominative from 1250) to feed; also (as equivalent to 1305) to render clear (Eccl. 3:18):--choose, (cause to) eat, manifest, (give) meat.

***1254 bara' baw-raw' a primitive root; (absolutely) to create; (qualified) to cut down (as wood), select, feed (as formative processes):-- choose, create (creator), cut down, dispatch, do, make (fat).

Ephesians 5:31-32 (KJV)
[SUP]31 [/SUP]For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
[SUP]32 [/SUP]This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
Genesis 2:24 (KJV)
[SUP]24 [/SUP]Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

To continue, we see this allegory with Noah, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob/Israel.

Genesis 6:18 (KJV)
18 But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee.
Genesis 15:18 (KJV)
18 In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:
Exodus 2:24 (KJV)
24 And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.
Exodus 6:5 (KJV)
5 And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant.
Continuing now with the description of the “New Covenant” (still being an allegory) I quote
Jeremiah 31:31-34 (KJV)
31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:
33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

So we see the same description for the “ Old Covenant” but it is described as “New.”

Hebrews 8:8-10 (KJV)
8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

Please go on.

It will take me the rest of the day to put it together. I'll post it by sections as I continue to put it together in an understandable form. What we are really looking at, according to what I have found, is that "covenant" Old and New are the same with different aspects defined as a type of "parable."
It is to be seen as an installment, as in singular, and not plural.
Right now, I know that sounds confusing because of decades of confusion concerning "covenant." GBU

Continuing with the Old Covenant

3772 karath kaw-rath' a primitive root; to cut (off, down or asunder); by implication, to destroy or consume; specifically, to covenant (i.e. make an alliance or bargain, originally by cutting flesh and *passing between the pieces):--be chewed, be con-(feder-)ate, covenant, cut (down, off), destroy, fail, feller, be freed, hew (down), make a league ((covenant)), X lose, perish, X utterly, X want.

We now see that God’s “covenant” denotes cutting off, or departing from, a severing from, and etc. This is a clear description of the separating of sin from the sinner. The *passing between the pieces indicates a division, and "covenant" passing between them. This is the cutting away of those things that separate mankind from God.

2 Chronicles 7:18-20 (KJV)
18 Then will I stablish the throne of thy kingdom, according as I have covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man to be ruler in Israel.
19 But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;
20 Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it to be a proverb and a byword among all nations.

It is clear that if the sin is not separated from the sinner what will happen according to the “Covenant.”
Reading on to in Haggai 2:1-9, we see a description of the temple, and how it relates directly with this “covenant” which God has planned since the beginning. Please, always keep this in mind when reading through this.

1 In the seventh month, in the one and twentieth day of the month, came the word of the LORD by the prophet Haggai, saying,
2 Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and to the residue of the people, saying,
3 Who is left among you that saw this house in her first glory? and how do ye see it now? is it not in your eyes in comparison of it as nothing?

The glory of Solomon’s Temple is gone and destroyed. Yet there is hope in the Lord. Praise God!!

continuing with verse 4
Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the LORD; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the LORD, and work: for I am with you, saith the LORD of hosts:
5 According to the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, so my spirit remaineth among you: fear ye not.
6 For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land;
7 And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.
8 The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts.
9 The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts.

After reading the above descriptions in the Word of God, there is a promise in the “Covenant” that will have greater glory in the house/temple, and it will come according to the promise/covenant.

Below we read that the “covenant” includes Jews with the remnants of the lost 10 tribe of Israel. Ephraim is clearly the Gentiles as denoted in Biblical History and terminology for Joseph was equal to the Pharaoh in Egypt, being a metaphor of the entire world.

Ezekiel 37:15-21 (KJV)
15 The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,
16 Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions:
17 And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand.
18 And when the children of thy people shall speak unto thee, saying, Wilt thou not shew us what thou meanest by these?
19 Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand.
20 And the sticks whereon thou writest shall be in thine hand before their eyes.
21 And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land:

John 3:16 (KJV)

[SUP]16 [/SUP]For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Please don’t forget that "covenant" is real yet the "Old Covenant" is an allegory of its completion of the "new." We also see clearly that the temple and covenant are very closely related to the finishing of "covenant" through Christ Jesus. There is more to come.

NT covenanted=2476. histemi his'-tay-mee a prolonged form of a primary stao stah'-o (of the same meaning, and used for it in certain tenses); to stand (transitively or intransitively), used in various applications (literally or figuratively):--abide, appoint, bring, continue, covenant, establish, *hold up, lay, present, set (up), stanch, stand (by, forth, still, up).

In the next verse we can see an agreement that has been established. So in this case “covenanted” (past tense) is due to negotiations between two parties. This is not the same as the Old Testament “covenanted” previously posted (Strong’s 3772 Old Testament) in God’s perfection isn’t up for negotiation because His “Covenant” has already been established as something that can be completed with perfection. With this bargain involving negotiation with Judas, the love of money was the bargaining chip differing from God’s love for us.

Matthew 26:14-16 (KJV)
14 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,
15 And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.
16 And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.

Covenanted 4934. suntithemai soon-tith'-em-ahee middle voice from 4862 and 5087; to place jointly, i.e. (figuratively) to consent (bargain, stipulate), concur:--agree, assent, covenant. NT

This negotiation was made to *stop Jesus, unlike giving opportunity to complete the "covenant" of God. Obviously that agreement failed, where God's "covenant" will not.

Luke 22:2-6 (KJV)
2 And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people.
3 Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.
4 And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them.
5 And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.
6 And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude.

I will continue for the crunch before I go to bed.:D

Covenants 1242. diatheke dee-ath-ay'-kay from 1303; properly, a disposition, i.e. (specially) a contract (especially a devisory will):--covenant, testament.

It is interesting to take note that “covenants" (plural) are the same as “covenant" (singular) in the entire New Testament scriptures aside from just a few which I previously posted. Therefore, the plural is to be seen as one covenant only. The reason for the plural definitions is because of the “allegory" mentioned in the previous posts that I advised to not forget. So now we see the “covenant” of God associated with “testament,” along with “temple,” “commandments” and “statutes.”

Romans 9:4 (KJV) Paul’s sorrow for the Jews
4 Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;

Here, Paul is defining one “covenant” in relation to seeing it to its spiritual completion, being an “allegory,” or the “old” being a “shadow” without changing the meaning from the beginning.

Hebrews 8:4-5a (KJV)
[SUP]4 [/SUP]For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:
[SUP]5 [/SUP]Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things,

Galatians 4:24 (KJV)
24 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar. (Hagar of the Old Testament)

Genesis 16:1 (KJV)
1 Now Sarai Abram's wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar.

If one reads about God changing Sari’s name to Sarah, we can see that Sinai represents her previous condition of being barren (the old), and the name God gave her when He promised she would bare a child, represents the “new.”

Genesis 17:15-16 (KJV)
[SUP]15 [/SUP]And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her.

8297=Sarai= dominative, and maintainer, saw-rah-*ee. “Yad” is the 10[SUP]th[/SUP] letter in the Hebrew alphabet, pronounced “*ee.” It represents a hard working person that gives, and maintains recourses, describing “Sarai” as a good wife, mindful of Abram’s needs. The priority of “works.”

8283=Sarah=to prevail, to be strong and free, a mistress, as a lady princess, a queen, saw-rah. If you will notice, the “*ee” no longer applies to the new name that God gave to Sarah. “**Hey” is the 5[SUP]th[/SUP] letter in the Hebrew alphabet, pronounced “**ah” (as in halleluiah). It represents revelation of being given something obvious, as in this case a “blessing” as the priority.

Even though the condition of Abraham’s wife Sarah changed from her original state to becoming fertile, she still was the same person representing the old, and the new.

Isaiah 54:1 (KJV)
1 Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD.

Ephesians 2:12 (KJV)
12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants (being both the old and new) of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

Proverbs 2:6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

I agree with what you have shared brother just-me

God Bless

I have one more post to put it all together. I'm sure there will be some repercussions, but it will be worth it. What I have found is that there is one covenant of promise that is finalized by Christ Jesus, unlike two covenants that are separated. Give me about an hour and I should be able to finish. It is rather simple when taking everything in context.

Covenants 1242. diatheke dee-ath-ay'-kay from 1303; properly, a disposition, i.e. (specially) a contract (especially a devisory will):--covenant, testament.
Luke 1:67-72 (KJV)
67 And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying,
68 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,
69 And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;
70 As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:
71 That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;
72 To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;

We see in the Gospel of Luke that Zacharias received the Holy Spirit even before Pentecost, and prophesied the completion of the covenant was at hand. So one might ask: How does the temple fit in with this prophecy of the completion? We can also see that the testament of Christ was the finalization of this covenant when we read Hebrews 9:16-17 (KJV)
[SUP]16 [/SUP]For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
[SUP]17 [/SUP]For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

Hebrews 8:8-10 (KJV)
8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant (allegory of the old) with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

Refer to post #149 at the beginning of the explanation of “covenant.” Hebrew OT 1285 Old Testament Covenant=(Strong’s1285) briyth ber-eeth' from **1262 (in the sense of cutting (***like 1254); a *compact (because made by passing between pieces of flesh):--confederacy, (con-)feder(-ate), covenant, league.

Hebrews 12:24 (KJV)
24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

See post # 149 Jeremiah 31:31-33 (KJV)
31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:
33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Here comes the crunch to what the difference is between the old and the new. As we read the following, in context the italicized, underlined word covenant has been added to the text and is NOT in the original writing of Hebrews. It is referring to the temple.

Hebrews 8:5 (KJV)
5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.

(See Exodus chapters 25 through 31, these are the tablets of stone, the ten words, or the ten things representing testimony; Law and responsibility of the priests in the temple, the ten commandments as we know them were given to Moses 10 days previous to the stone tablets given on Mount Sinai. See Exodus chapters 20 through 23)

Hebrews 8:6-7 (KJV)

6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, (1242) which was established upon better promises.
7 For if that first covenant (referring to the man made temple) had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

Hebrews 8:13 (KJV)
13 In that he saith, A new covenant, (referring to the man made temple) he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

Hebrews 9:1-4 (KJV)
1 Then verily the first covenant (referring to the man made temple) had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.
2 For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary.
3 And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all;
4 Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant (1242) overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant; (1242)

The only difference between the old and the new is that we are now the temple which have the same ordinances as the old, but in the Spirit rather than the physical.

Hebrews 8:7
7 For if that first temple had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

Hebrews 8:13 (KJV)
13 In that he saith, A new temple he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

Hebrews 9:1-4 (KJV)
1 Then verily the first temple had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.

1 Corinthians 3:16-17 (KJV)
[SUP]16 [/SUP]Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
[SUP]17 [/SUP]If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (KJV)
[SUP]19 [/SUP]What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
[SUP]20 [/SUP]For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

There was and is only one “covenant” that was ordained from the beginning. The “NEW” is within us, instead of us being inside the “OLD.” The "OLD" is being under it, the "NEW" is inward, yet the same in "allegory," and similarity.

1 Peter 2:9 (KJV)
[SUP]9 [/SUP]But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

Romans 12:1 (KJV)
[SUP]1 [/SUP]I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

There is ONE Covenant for all mankind, both old and new. The only difference is the location of the temple. For a complete understanding start reading at post #149, and compare this with scripture.

If the New Covenant is not what The Lord has done for me, that I could never do for myself, I do not know what it is. I am helpless to save myself. I only know to be grateful to Jesus Christ. This is all I can do.

How do I break the Covenant? I can only be grateful. I do not have correct words to explain what that is like. But if there is something I must do in the New Covenant to save myself, I do not know what it is.
